I moved here from NY, NJ, and MA before locating in Venice and I was fortunate to live in a wonderful area of the town AND work in the same. It's a twenty-minute drive to the island and life has kept me from it but during off times, I drive to the island and absolutely love the place. I love where I landed. In 1970, an artist friend of my family(mothers' brother) gifted us a painting of Venice, Italy and 35 years later, my very first play n theatre was the Venice, Florida section of "Tour Di Europa". It seems like I was destined to live here. It's amazing how relaxing you feel traveling from the touristy sections of East Florida to the West (in my case, Fort Lauderdale) to the west it is while you cross Alligator Alley (rt. 75). I do hope to extend my life between the present but if i should end life here in Venice, I will consider myself very fortunate. It's a beautiful area.
