Laura Nyro was so special and I get frustrated that she is not the household name that, say, Joni is. The proposed documentary has been discussed, set up and cancelled for years now. I just hope that I live long enough to see a documentary on Laura that finally does her justice.

Agree. I loved them both but Laura was always my girl .What I call the New York Trilogy ( Eli , Tendaberry , Christmas) is a bloody work of genius imo. And what a voice . Nobody sings like Laura .Cried and cried when she died .x x x

She was such a genius. she once said that she loved the covers. so. thank you for her last alive album. Gary Katz as well.

People could say you're eccentric ...Radio guy.. You have your ego too Her music speaks for itself She was a beautiful woman. She had a stellar voice. She was an unbelievable singer and singwriter. Todd Rundgren wrote a great song about her.

Amazing songwriter, pianist and interpreter. Laura was months shy of turning 50 when she passed.

Most record buyers discovered they preferred other artists' covers of her songs over her original versions. That's just the way it went.

if you read comments on Laura Nyro vids on youtube you'll see there are a helluva lot of folks like myself who don't think any of the covers of Laura Nyro's work are as good as her originals just my opinion, but I'd bet some of the folk who covered a song of hers don't think their covers were as good as her originals
