A few possible explanations for Topuria's reaction other than "he's scared". 1. At first his reaction looked pretty normal. He was surprised like everyone else and made casual gesture to Izzy. When the camera came back and right in his face, that's when he looked odd. I could imagine he just felt self-conscious about how to "act" for the camera since his genuine reaction at the beginning was more that of a spectator, and he probably sensed that the camera was looking for something else from him. 2. Topuria might be thinking he has a chance to go for a second belt in another weight class immediately, and maybe a potential fight with Max just gets in the way of the plans he has in mind. When the camera came back to him and in his face, he might have realized that the fight with Max was suddenly likely and so he just didn't look pleased about now having to look like he wants the fight.
