This was amazing 👍 I have walked the causeway a couple of times and it is almost unbelievably different when I see it like this. Quite surreal. I loved the snorkelling parts and I admire your effort, leaving the camera on the sea floor and filming yourself swimming. Thank you, and also for picking up the litter. 🥰😊

Really glad you enjoyed the video. I’ve wanted to snorkel this area for a long time and now that we’re allowed back out I jumped at the chance. I always try to pick up as much litter as I can. I normally take a net bag with me inside my wetsuit but forgot it on this occasion so I had to just carry it.

Beautiful underwater footage! The water is so clear, in spite of the clouded sky and strong winds. We only have this muddy Wattenmeer in Northern Germany. Can't see anything there even on a calm day

You might be interested to know there’s a tram line under that sand lol…. Most people don’t even know it’s there. It was built around a 120 years ago, to enable the mount to get supplies in winter storms.

I believe the boilers from the full-size Battleship HMS Warspite are still on the bottom just off St Michael's mount. The ship was beached there for salvage when she was damaged while en-route for scrapping. Most of her was cut-up in situ, but the boilers and lowest part of the hull weren't worth the trouble of underwater removal. Have been interested in having a look but don't know the exact location and it doesn't seem to be a popular dive site

The Mount was the ancestral home on my paternal side. I live in the States and would love to see it some day. Most of my family have been there for a visit. Thanks for showing us the underwater journey.

@@LoveSundays I should hopefully be ok with my 1m long fins 😅👍 I am always careful though and appreciate the heads up. I have a PLB on my float at all times so if I get into serious trouble I can use that as a last resort.

@@LoveSundays haha I just use cheap seac ones off amazon and they are great to be honest. Think they were about 40 quid. Not as good as carbon fins of course, but those cost 400 quid so a bit beyond my budget 😂😱

Cool video. I got out for my first snorkel in ages in South Devon on Sat. Cant wait to get out more and do some spearfishing. Good fun when the surfs flat!

Well done for doing some cleaning up. When I go kitesurfing I nearly always bring home rubbish from the beach. Drives me nuts how some people leave the place. Disposable BBQs and beer cans etc.

Yes I totally agree Blake it’s a nightmare the amount of litter that’s just left behind. I normally take a net bag out with me but forgot it on this occasion so had to carry it all 😆

@@chrisseveris5126 there’s loads of picturesque ares around Marazion but nothing is too far away. I would recommend Mousehole if you’ve never been it’s just a really nice fishing village. I made a video about it too because it’s not pronounced how it’s spent 😆.

Hi Shaun, still catching up on your fab videos 😁. Loved this one and great area...one of my favourite 👌. I'm always surprised when it can be windy but not wavy or choppy on the surface... I suppose that's to do with the bay being a bit sheltered...not sure. Again, your music choices are so good and compliment your filming so much...fab 👌🌅🏊👏

Yes I believe the undercurrents come from the channel between the mount and Marazion beach. This is one of the unseen dangers when swimming in these sorts of areas. Glad you’re enjoying the videos 😊 I find sometimes finding the right milieux to pair with the mood of the video takes the longest

I normally use a 5kg weight belt when I’m wearing a 5mm wetsuit it’s so much easier for diving down you’re right. But also sometimes I just don’t take it with me just incase I don’t want to carry the weight belt to the location

Really enjoyed this Thankyou...I was lucky enough to have visited St. Michaels Mount once must be over 20 years ago now ..getting old you know lol . I was surprised how clear the water is too ...your very brave very well done and for collecting the rubbish . Enjoyed the song/music that you added for when you were under the water but couldn't find out who it is by ...so if you ever get a spare minute would love to know . Thank you for your comment. Yes the water was beautifully clear dispute the strong currents. The song is called “somewhere then” by a group called Geminii. The get my music from a subscription to Epidemic sound for the rights to play music without breaking copyright laws. They’re probably on soundcloud though to be honest. Thanks for watching

What's your verdict on closed foot fins in this water temperature? I presently use twobarefeet open heel but I want some decent new fins but can't decide.

My feet tend to get cold not having boots one. These fins a fine for summer but will probably go to open heel for next winter so I can wear boots underneath. Thank you for watching the video.
