Every corner...perfect Every shortcut....perfect Every jump....perfect Every dodge of traffic....perfect Seconds before the the end of the race hits 1 slight bump ruining the momentum Still looses the race.
I remember the hours and hours I spent playing this on the psp. If they continued the series and made a new one today I would buy it immediately. I used to use the Chrysler 300c for everything. Miss this game, it’s the reason I’m addicted to the forza horizon series.
Favourite Car. You used quite a bit in the B-Roll, Chrysler 300c Dub Edition. Thing handled like a dream while having the speed and durability of a tank on steroids. Favourite city was SD, tons of fun jumps and place to hide from cops.
The mid 2000s, gran turismo 4, midnight club 3, need for speed most wanted and underground, toca race driver juiced 1&2 etc you just couldn't go wrong, Whatever you pick was great, and Im glad I played them back then, and I might play them again, because It's been a really long time.
My favorite race online is the one where you got hit all the check points but how ever order you want. Race took a good car, skills, and quick thinking. Probably one the best type of races I seen since.
Performance is just not upgrading all the performance parts but also changing the tire's dimensions which do make a difference in the game. Wider tires give you more grip. If I'm not wrong. Check it for yourself.
I loved this game so much because there were normal street cars you could deck out. Like the Jetta,Infiniti fx or the 300C not like racing games now where there is 4 different versions of every super car. Which is great, but meh.
Petey Pablo-Freek a leek The Game-Higher The Game & 50 cent-how we do T.I.-ASAP T.I.-Like a 24 Twista-Sunshine Twista-Celebrity Overnight And a WHOLE lot more!
Idk about MC3, but in MC II it was good idea to NOT use a nitro. Only the slip stream effect (which you had to activate manually like a nitro - for those readers who don't know/remember) was useful. Why? Because when you used a nitro this resulted in two effects: 1) the other racers gained a speed boost immediately too 2) the other racers max speed got bumped a little bit (or yours got lower?) so each time you used a nitro you gained almost nothing and you actually were making your race harder. it was useful only when you were close to finish (so no loses from max speed difference) and your opponets were in a situation when getting a speed boost was unwelcomed (just before a turn, or simply when they got stuck). MCII was also hard because if opponets were far away - they havent had all the traffic to deal with - traffic was only around you. So all the "collect the checkpoints in any order" races were extra hard too.
This game was two types of hell: Hell of fun and Hell of stressful at the same time lol. This game really tested your will to keep going after so many failed attempts in a race.
@@wholehand2635 - No need for an apology, your answer was right haha. Even if I don’t agree, your preference is still extremely valid ‘cause they’re great.
@@talpatv512 That's not what I meant. I meant that it's not like other devs who don't make good games anymore, they just don't make games at all, regardless of them being great or not
Drifting in this game was honestly broken. If you managed to hit the angle right you'd gain a speed boost from it and be able to hit the games speed limit
Midnight Club 3 was a mandatory, must play game back in the day, like GTA San Andreas levels of must play. People used to argue which game was better MC3 or Underground 2. It was the game that hooked me up to rap and rock music forever, Rockstar always put some bangers in their games and I really appreciate it.
Without Rockstar and EA theres no way i would have become a metalhead or even a musician probably. These racing games shaped my love of metal, hardcore and anything aggressive!
The soundtrack man it was so period correct, a taste of everything, Anyone could pick it up, I was like 7 my brothers were 17 we all liked it, the branded car was definitely lit
What I loved was going to career mode, making cars for myself and my uncle who is mentally challenged, then do split screen free ride with our cars and cruise the ENTIRE MAP! Great memories with my uncle.
So glad to see you covering this game. Midnight Club 3 still has modern games beat on car customization. It was truly ahead of its time for that alone.
Yeah it’s annoying in Underground 1, but in U2 you could at least get more than one car. One for racing with tasteful customization and one absolute ugly riced car for magazines.
This game was the genesis of my racing game addiction. As well as my love for cars and car culture as a whole. This is what started it all and made me who I am today.
I was going to comment this same exact thing bro. So glad I found this. Flash forward 17 years and I design and wrap vehicle graphics and all kinds of interior and exterior projects. And I'm STILL looking for a decent low mile IS300 for a good price. This game was the spark of insanity for some of us. So glad I ain't the only one.
To me, it was the perfect arcade racer, I've always wanted an arcade racer that was really focused on speed, like, insanely fast and chaotic, and this game was all that and a bit more. The Need For Speed games always felt too slow, I know they probably get faster as you unlock better vehicles, but Midnight Club 3 started really fast, and only got faster from there. Cars got so fast that not only felt like racing, but also keeping this beast under control, it was amazing.
I remember being 12 years old and going with my dad to a game shop, grabbing the game, giving it to the cashier and then she turns to me and says: "Good choice, kid!". It just made my day.
I remember those days. You absolutely didn't want to get a bad game because your parents probably only bought you 1 or 2 a year! Good choice for 12 year old you!
@@Indy721 man i miss tf out those day i remember when mhy mom got me GTA3 on my 9th birthday so 2003 lol man those days were so amazing 2020s can never compare
From the customization, to how rewarding every race was to it being one of the first racing games that you actually had to have a car from each class to do certain events was what made it versatile and great.
Put so much time into this as a kid, me and my friend used to deck out 300C's and Escalades with limo tints, put custom vinyls on the windows and cruise around like we were nightclub owners. Simpler times. At the time, we weren't interested in the physics of the game, it was the customization and open world gameplay that was king. Besides this and Underground 2, I didn't have the same bond with an open world racing game again until Test Drive Unlimited. And at the time, my mum didn't let me upgrade to REMIX because it was just a newer version of the same game - which I am grateful for now because I can revisit and rediscover it!
aa man test drive unlimited after a certain point mom stopped buying cds for the psp so i legit 100% this i think all clubs most cars shii the amount of time ive spent on this game haha
I loved SUVs and pickups so much as a kid, so being able to trick out an Escalade EXT with a bunch of crazy body kit mods was fun as hell. Definitely among the defining games of my childhood.
I remember getting the game as a gift, and knowing nothing about the series. I played it A LOT because of how customisable the vehicles were, and the actual driving aspects felt just right.
I love how when you got the game, if you looked through the instruction booklet, it actually broke down and explained the pros and cons of each starter car. Always went with either a Scion TC or the '78 Monte Carlo.
Once they remaster this game i will be a happy gamer. None of todays racing games come close to the customization or pure fun this game brought to the table 💯
@@blickedxb forza doesn't come close man this had legit super lit soundtracks. And the game was fun at that time. Even now if you start playing it you will definitely love the experience.
@@blickedxb Horizon still has way too "realistic" driving mechanics. Midnight Club was an arcade racer, more on par with Disneys Split/Second or the amazing Blur. Trust me, I like Horizon and think it's an awesome game... But it's not even close to driving the same as a lot of the arcade racers from 2-3 console generations ago.
I remember when I played this game for the first time. In a Christmas it was my gift. A ps2 and a combo of GTA San Andreas x Midnight club 3 dub edition remix. Actually the best gift ever in my life and also in my childhood. Thanks for the nostalgia dude. :')
I played Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition I think one time. I remember it had weird handling. Need for Speed: Underground already existed and I liked that better
Just started playing this game again after so many years, such a great game. Rockstar did a phenomenal job, made me really appreciate the games we had growing up. The models of cars, types of races, customization etc.
I used to LOVE playing this game as a kid. Especially the music was so damn good and brings up nostalgia every time. So sad to see that there won't be another game... yet?
I played it on my PSP and... What a game. In my first playthrough (unfinished) I chose the Dodge, but laterer I tried every initial car. The Chevys Montecarlo and Impala became my favourites ones and hated the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Overall I loved two things about this game: 1) If you wanted you could finish the career just buying the initial car thanks to clubs and tournaments (but I had to but the Dodge RAM truck because the Escalade EXT was too slow) 2) Even if you lose the race (2nd, 3rd position) you still received money The only real bad thing I remember from the PSP version was the loadscreens, which could last between 10-20 seconds in worst cases
Goooood times. I remember playing this when I was mid-highschool, real high on the hormones as I am hitting puberty. I remember my little brother and I taking turns racing these games, eventually finishing almost all the citoes, and I recall spending most of my Christmas break finishing off Tokyo Challenge. The soundtrack is powerfully nostalgic as it was the hayday of rap, punk rock, and I even got into the techno genre because of this game! And since I was starting to cope with my edgelord phase, I remember just customizing the cars to give it all a black colored matte/pearlescent hue with blue glowlights or decals and even giving them names. My favorite was the Lamborghini Gallardo, named Black Mamba, and the White Rider, a Class A motorcycle. Both I just loved using. I miss the blurring of the screen due to the speed, the soundtrack, and those events where you could win AN ACTUAL CAR. I'm now nearing my 30's, and the memories just came gushing back. The times where I didn't care about life, and skimping classes, and just wanting a taste of that speed offered by Midnight Club. Now I'm an adult handling a team and worrying about bills. Thanks for reminding me I'm old.
Your comment hits right in the feels man. Bought this game in 2007 aged 16. Didn't know a thing about it, just loved racing games. 16 years later, still play it and it's one of my favourite games ever. Been working for 8 years now but haven't changed much in terms of me time and enjoying things I did back then. This game has been part of half my life and I'll always cherish it
Man I loved the Midnight Club games. They are the ones that really got me into cars and racing. Growing up with 3 then getting MC L.A. with friends was amazing. I still emulate 3 now and then :P
Midnight Club LA: Complete Edition! I remember getting online and finding other players... We would all go to an intersection and park in a circle and do burnouts, bounce and it was really fun.
@@erenyeager3657 3 you'll need an ISO for what ever console you want. Then the emulator for said console. Pcsx2 for PS2. Ppsspp for PSP. Mcla would be Xenia. But you'll need a necent system to run them. Mine struggles.
My first racing game was NFS 2, which I loved a lot. Then Most Wanted, that I liked too but I think a little bit less, although the persecutions were super engaging for me. Then, years later, I played Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition on PSP and boy... that was it. The difficulty was pretty high, and I had to do millions of times the races in order to memorize some tricky shortcuts and curves while also being careful with collisions, and it was fucking awesome. Having that level of freedom on the races was extremely engaging. Specially in those races where you didn't have an order to go through checkpoints so you had to do some tries to design your own route. Damn now I need to play it again, I think it's time to play the remix version I never got to experience PS: I've been playing MC3DE Remix since yesterday and I'm so glad I started it. I was feeling a little bit sad, but after 200+ hundred resets on the first city I'm simply devoid of any emotions now, since life has lost all meaning to me. Losing a race no longer infuriates me, it just sinks me one level deeper into this cold emptiness.
Exactly my feelings after failing races multiple times😂😂 And yes the degree of freedom is what engaged me the most in this game, that also made it better than all other racing games, class apart from NFS
@@vasudev6960 it was, still, a great experiece. Not only I enjoyed the incredible free driving, races and soundtrack, but I also got to master nihilism. I'm sure that if I tell any college that I completed MC3D3 Remix they would directly give me a degree ln either philosophy, psychology or both
@@OscarIna0fTimeVODs i know right, but too bad Rockstar killed this series, now i have to play the same old boring NFS that has zero difficulty in terms of races. This game had that corridor of uncertainty where anything can happen in a race, you could be thousand miles ahead in pole position and still there is a chance that you might lose. This made it so exhilarating and put you on the edge. You had to be very disciplined the whole race. Seriously, they should be giving a degree for completion of this game 😂😂😂
This game is the source of my Lotus Elise obsession. I wish dub edition remix would get a remaster. I still have the working game and console but I want my online friends to share the experience with me
Midnight Clubs: L.A. Edition will be my favorite, me and my older sister always enjoyed it, it was fun and awesome, races were challenging, but not too hard, that it became frustrating. I never any of the other Midnight Club games, but from this video, I know they were awesome too.
I've played all of them , MC LA is the pinnacle of the series , always my favorite ...I was always so impressed you could customize the interiors of the vehicles! Still a gem of a game to this day
The midnight club series was one of the most defining times in my life. Alongside Enter the Matrix 🤯 shit blew my mind racing, especially in MC2. My sister and I would play split screen and push every car into the LA duct areas until there were no cars around 😂😂
The amount of time I spent on this game was insane, it was all me and my friends would talk about in primary school. When I got that Murcielago my life was complete.
Absolutely my favorite racing series’s I’ve ever picked up. Midnight club 3 was the first and got me into racing games now. I put so many hours into this game as a kid, the soundtrack was amazing, and the local multiplayer was a good way to play with your friends and family.
This was indeed an amazing racing game. My favorite race mode in this game was the one where the finish line is set on the other side of the city and you will need to find the shortest path to get there. I forgot what it was called.
@@m.raihanammarfachrezixpplg7898 ordered race is the one with set checkpoints. The one I'm saying only has the finish line set on the other side of the map. And you are free to choose which path to take to get there, but ideally, take the shortest path if you want to win.
@@m.raihanammarfachrezixpplg7898 aahh I see. Now that you mention it is still called ordered race, I do remember this now. The first time I started this race, I thought my game bugged because I could not see the other checkpoints.
I played and LOVE dub edition remix, I still think the cosmetic customization is still up in the ranks of great and varied options. I played it a year or so ago and just messing around and making cars never gets old!
I can’t believe I had this game, never knowing what dub was. Had this on Xbox when I was a kid, and I always thought the graphics on this looked great. I can’t remember where I played LA remix, but I remember that was my favourite. I kinda hope they reboot this series, but at the same time, don’t want them to ruin the memories
I remember playing this on Xbox it looked amazing Plus we had one Of the early LCD TVs. So I was gaming in wide screen early on. It looked amazing back then. It still looks amazing on my android handheld to this day upscaled in resolution.
