Ladies my uncle's always said it's so important to pay attention to a man's relationship with his mother. Rico grew up seeing his mom struggle overwork herself being a single mom. Rico thinks this is normal and is looking for that type of woman. But he doesn't realize his mom was in survival mode, which she past that behavior down to him. He also lives in survival mode also known as trauma. Most women that come from healthy environments where their mom was in her feminine and not over worked will not be attracted to a guy like Rico. Men are built to work hard and are able to work 2 jobs and still be ok. A women usually does this when she doesn't have a choice or she came from an environment where the women had to overwork and struggle. When I was around 13 my parents were not even together. My mother would work so much overtime to pay for my private school. When she told my dad he ended up getting a second job to pay for my school so she could just work her regular shift. They were already broken up for about 12yrs. He wasn't turned on by a woman over working herself. He understood he needed to step in and release the burden so she could be a better mom. A masculine man understands that a woman is not built to work like a man.

Very well said. This is something I’m learning first hand at this stage in my life. It’s also important to know when to walk away when a man thinks like this instead of trying to wait for him or teach him how to love, support, protect, and provide properly.

I grew up in a home with both parents and dating a “boy” who grew up in a single parent household watching his mother struggle. He feels like he deserves a pat on the back for doing the bare minimum because it’s more than he’s ever seen a man do.

I would love to know why dude in the yellow said marriage is the hardest thing he's ever done. The hardest?! Is it hard being faithful? Is it hard choosing your wife everyday? I was married 10 years and it was not the hardest thing for me until he developed a drug problem the last two years...now THAT was hard. Its all about balance for both people in a relationship. You need your job to provide for yourself and if you found the right person to have kids with and build a family you're going to find that balance for yourself, your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/ husband, your career, your goals, your hobbies, your health, and happiness too. Everyone needs that person who matches their lifestyle, their energy, and has their best interests. You want to be with someone who supports your goals and work ethic too. I don't think anyone should pull back in their career unless its detrimental to the person or causing issues. But balance like a 100 percent pie chart you cut it for balance. You make sure every area of your life is giving you peace and you focus on it.

Deadass , I had a woman loved every bit of me but she wanted a relationship and I didn’t . I had to play the game and got the kitty and played along until she figured out that it wasn’t going nowhere . Woman don’t respect nice guys at all . On top of that she was clingy and she was a bit of a hopeless romantic meaning … she wanted to be loved by all means and she just was too nice which is good but that shit scared me to the point that she lost herself and made me feel like she’ll kill me or herself if things go left lol .
