This is a look at the amazing Sinulog Festival the biggest in Cebu. A festival that combines faith, culture, and fun, look no further than the Sinulog Festival in Cebu City, Philippines. Im going to show you how to have the best amazing celebration that honors the Santo Niño, the patron saint of Cebu. You’ll see the colorful street dancing, the grand parade, the lively parties, and the religious rituals (like the novena mass) that make Sinulog Festival one of the most spectacular events in the world. I'll also show your the Fluvial parade. You’ll also learn about the history and meaning behind this iconic festival, and how to join the locals in their devotion and joy. Don’t miss this chance to experience the grandest festival in the Philippines. Pit Senyor

@Rob....Batobalani is Cebuano word for 'magnet'. The song Batobalani sa Gugma is sung in each novena mass. Batobalani sa Gugma means Magnet of Love. The Holy Infant Jesus is a magnet of love.

Thanks @lionhearted for that. I enjoyed talking with locals and learning new things about the Sinulog and Cebano culture. Hopefully others will find it interesting too. Cheers

“Pit Señor” is the short form of “Sangpit sa Señor,” a phrase in Cebuano that means, “to call, ask, and plead to the king, or "Long Live the Christ Child!" This call for help brings believers together. Cebuanos tend to shorten words or phrases. VIVA SEÑOR SANTO NIÑO! ' is 'Hail, Lord Holy Child! ' which is referred to Jesus Christ. On the other hand, the interpretative translation of 'VIVA PIT SEÑOR! ' is 'Hail Lord, listen to our prayers! I love Cebu! Viva Pit Señor Santo Niño! Viva Pit Senyor. ♥️👑

I actually went to that one back before the pandemic. I never got the time to edit and upload it. It's still sitting on my hardrive. I did have a great time there, it was a little smaller than Sinulog but I loved the costumes 🙂
@marierocher4422

@@FindingParadise exactly. It’s smaller and I like their traditional attires. Cebu reflect more on Spanish mixed with the natives plus the offerings. The strong faith in the infant Jesus. We have 100 plus active indigenous and still protected and given land areas for them to live. Hopefully I can travel soon to Cebu. Relatives prefers Feb as a little cooler than the sweltering heat, although it’s due to the environmental problem. We never have that type of heat. Our maximum was 27/28 but several years now it’s burning heat. Ok, enjoy your holiday. Thank you.

@marierocher4422 Cheers. I hope I can see that festival in Iloilo again. I remember I stayed at the Marriott which was located next to a park. During the festival they had this party there and it went on all night. I remember not getting any sleep from the constant thumping of the music. Even the windows were vibrating 😃. Anyhow it's interesting to travel and learn about different cultures. Hope you have a great trip to Cebu when you do come. Happy travels

Nice account of the festivities. Thanks for highlighting the different aspects of the celebration. Party on!🎉🎊 I missed this one (and the Christmas season) on purpose as I didn't want to arrive in the midst of it all but I should make it there in a few weeks after the whole party atmosphere subsides.

Yeah I know people will avoid Cebu City during Sinulog. It's a very busy, noisy and crowded time. Hotel prices go up and it can be at times difficult to get transport. My feet were killing after all the walking.

@@FindingParadise Don't get me wrong. I don't mind participating in the festivities and whooping it up as long as I'm already there; I'm a natural partay animal😁. I just didn't want to arrive into that madness after a 20-hour flight. The next partay season then.

Correction: the Santo Niño is not the patron saint of Cebu, rather, He is the titular of Cebu. The patron saint or patroness of Cebu is Our Lady of Guadalupe de Cebu proclaimed by the late Archbishop of Cebu, Ricardo Cardinal Vidal together with St. Pedro Calungsod as the Segunda Patron
