Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant's critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.
BATTLE OUT OF HELL
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you'll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.
UNLEASH THE FURY OF OLYMPUS
The Olympians have your back! Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.
BEFRIEND GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS
A fully-voiced cast of colorful, larger-than-life characters is waiting to meet you! Grow your relationships with them, and experience thousands of unique story events as you learn about what's really at stake for this big, dysfunctional family.
BUILT FOR REPLAYABILITY
New surprises await each time you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld, whose guardian bosses will remember you. Use the powerful Mirror of Night to grow permanently stronger, and give yourself a leg up the next time you run away from home.
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
Permanent upgrades mean you don't have to be a god yourself to experience the exciting combat and gripping story. Though, if you happen to be one, crank up the challenge and get ready for some white-knuckle action that will put your well-practiced skills to the test.
SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE
The rich, atmospheric presentation and unique melding of gameplay and narrative that's been core to Supergiant's games is here in full force: spectacular hand-painted environments and a blood-pumping original score bring the Underworld to life.

My favourite aspect of Hades is just how real all the characters feel, there’s so much dialogue and plot for every little side character, like they gave the training dummy lore for literally no reason and it makes the game so much better!

My favorite thing about this game, which is always present is just the love that was put into it. From the voice acting to the dialogue itself, the relationships you can grow and the stories that are told through them. There's so many charming interactions and little things to appreciate littered throughout your entire playthrough.

I bought this game today, had been putting it off for a bit because I've never played rougelites and was skeptical if the Playstyle would suit me, and OH. BOY. I'm so in love. The story, the setting, the characters are so so compelling, it's legitimately fun to slowly progress and see how far I get - took me ten tries to get to Meg, and now I get to her every run (not always beating her yet). I super recommend, especially if you're a fan of Greek Mythology, amazing art and as a beginner rougelite, I think it's a fantastic start!

I don't think it's for everyone or that every rougelite has to do it, but I like the 'futzing around on floors to finagle resources out of them' aspect of The Binding Of Isaac. It's a breather from the combat, and it's an awesome feeling to find a clever way to, say, exploit a blood donation machine to get some extra items
@bighex5340
@bighex5340 3 года назад
Right, like you can literally find interactions that break the fuck out of the game if you're clever enough, and people are still finding ways to fuck with the game. That's what keeps BOI fun for me, it's like a puzzle that you fuck with till it starts spitting out random stuff lol, Hades story and gameplay is awesome and better than BOI but I wish there was a secret way to break the shit out of the game, maybe there is and we haven't found it yet 😳

There’s just not a single aspect of gameplay that Hades falters in. Absolutely NO complaints from me when I played the game, and I usually have some shit to say about the cons of a game. Hades comes so close to perfection.
@SoulGameStudio
@SoulGameStudio 3 года назад
Totally agree. Would even say best game of the year for me. SUCH a game design gem... I have only two minor regrets: - There are not many secrets (not to say none at all). Even after they removed all actual exploration, they could have had a few hidden doors here and there, I don't know. - Not being able to equip more than one Trinket at a time was really a missed opportunity I felt. The game balancing could have handled me carrying 2 or 3 Trinket without troubles.
@isabellabybella460
@isabellabybella460 4 месяца назад
I disagree about the trikets. I’m on my way to get the platinum trophy, and being able to cary more than one would make the game too easy, part of the fun is the difficulty, and while it would be fun, I don’t think it would be worth it
@SoulGameStudio

Kinda? And it works. Like there very few times where Im like "wow that run was a waste of time" instead it more "that run was bad, but now I can pet the 3 dog again". Also while the game is somewhat difficult even before ways to make it insanely more difficult, the bosses on each floor have similar moveset to one another. Sure how they generally implement is different, but it not like say binding where 2 bosses could be completely different play styles. Plus there an god (take less damage, and get better if you die a lot) and hell (bunch of stuff to make life pain) mode that are unlocked from the start. God mode also toggle after save start in options(hell isn't).

Everybody enjoys the gameplay, its a rogouelike after all, but what makes you push and play for 60 70 80 runs are the interactions with other characters. The gameplay is the work, the talking after is the reward.

I have different opinion on Hades. Yes, the game has great story pacing and stuff but what always drives me in rogue games are their gameplay richness. In that regard Hades feels too restricted and dull. First off, there's not much to do. You clear the room, get reward and choose where to go. Oftentimes you are met with rewards that don't affect your run at all. Rooms themselves have no exploration aspect in them and little to no interactives that can give you some benefits. Compare to tinted rocks and secret rooms in Isaac. Then there is another issue: you interact with the game only one way - by fighting. There are shops though but it's not enough. You just attack everything until they or you die. No resources to use, no pickups to creatively combine. Again, said Isaac has numerous ways to forge your run thanks to all different drops. Take another classic: Spelunky. In it every part of the game interacts with all the others. You just can't get enough of it because each run you end up with working around unique situations and have to adapt and be creative about using environment to your success. Hades though? Not much to do. You just rush through fights and that's it. My problem is, I can't "feel" the flow of combat in this game. It doesn't feel tight, I often stuck in animations, move chaotically or take a projectile that I thought I was safe from my position. Hades doesn't feel right for me and doesn't have enough mechanical depth to compensate for it.
@rafaelbordoni516
@rafaelbordoni516 3 года назад
Yeah dude, Hades's chaos is real, isn't it? Coming from other roguelikes, where it is all about not getting hit, Hades feels very weird. The screen gets covered in vfx, enemies are too small and numerous, stupid butterflies, undodgeable charge attacks, super fast projectiles coming from off screen, bosses covering the screen with smoke/darkness so you can't see shit, all that on top of the traps and lava you have to mindful of? Game is bs, no joke. However, I think it does a really good job at embracing it. Things get hectic, but taking damage is much less punishing in Hades than most of those games, there are countless mechanics that take advantage of that, ways to mitigate damage, ways to take advantage of taking damage... The moment I said to myself "it's okay, I'm not playing Dark Souls, I am not meant to dodge everything" I started having much more fun with it. I equipped the fists and the Hermes keepsake and I felt like my third eye opened. I started seeing the value in Aphrodite, tried those vengeance boons, using my health as a resource... Not only I had more fun, but I had more success and understood the game better. If you ever try it again, try going balls to the walls and embracing the chaos, you might enjoy yourself more.

The problem with the "you power up quite consistently" aspect is that once you are decently full of bonus, either you go in "normal mode" and you roll stomp the game, or you increase PERCENTAGES to make it harder. Give me MECHANICS. Not "ennemies do 20/40/60/80/100% more damage". About aspects "changing the way you play", indeed, they change the gameplay. But some are utter trash (most swords, Zagreus aspect being the least terrible, and gauntlets in general), and others (hello Chiron's bow and the "crazy goddess" gun) are free wins. Not much in the "gameplay diversity" side of the scale.

I know I’m in the minority here, but after I bought this game (I was pretty reluctant for a while because it’s a rogue like) I grew to hate it. Even the characters and story couldn’t keep me in. I just find the grind of doing the same thing over and over with no real reward excruciating. I love the art, the soundtrack, story. But the gameplay is just infuriating. It’s a game that I feel pissed about even when I’m not playing it. Just feel like life itself is super difficult as it is.
