I only discovered this show a few weeks ago and binge-watched both seasons. An exceptional tour de force. Of course, “Still Watching Netflix” is bitterly ironic as this show was cancelled after only two seasons.

Honestly, anything Fincher touches, with his dark hands, is good. I was so bummed when I heard they were not going to do a season 3. Such a masterpiece. I so wanted to find out what happened after the "disruptive" ending to season 2. I have literally binged it twice now. Damn you Fincher for giving us GOLD and then ripping the rug out from under our feet, wanting more. :P Bastard.

Watching Mindhunter, I was positive that Joe Penhall must have a background in the theater. The show's conception of "action" is less physical car chases and more interpersonal actions among characters: attacking, testing, seducing, warning, asserting status . . . . As in theater, those actions are accomplished mostly through language and physical relationship. I loved your video about editing -- seeing how edits can support and reveal those dramatic actions/relationships (something that isn't available on the stage).

I noticed in season 2 the resemblance between Dr. Carr and Claire Underwood. Looked up the directors to find out MindHunter and House of cards had the same director. I watched HOC 3 times no wonder I finished mindhunter in 4 days also, I like the movie Seven.

Mindhunter set up a lot of interesting things and paid off very little....common in many shows last few years. It's very interesting to start adding up the pieces but it takes talented writing to pay them off.

Mindhunter was not cancelled by Netflix. The shows creator backed off due to other projects. It is his right. I also wish the series continued. Perhaps it will pick up again but I wouldn't hold my breath.

When they turned the Ann Burgess character into a lesbian -- which she was not -- they lost me. She was a plain old housewife with kids and a psychiatric nurse with oodles of data, massive understanding and a scientifically-based compassionate nature. Had they left the character as she really was, it would have been a much better series.

Its a great show but i wish theyd cut out the personal lives bullshit and why does every single show have to have a gay character in it? I dont have anything against peoples lives but for hells sake it ads nothing to the show and is a waste of tome in the story. It is a very good show. However, I don't like the girlfriend being vulgar because women like her are not vulgar in real life, so it is not true to life. Did the actress feel comfortable saying her lines? Because, I did not feel comfortable listening to them, as an audience member. She comes across as an intelligent sex bot but it is supposed to be the seventies.
