What makes the Dyson DC28 Vacuum so great .... 

@saravananeureka I disagree...I had been using the Rainbow Hydrocleaner for the last few years..decided to try the DC28 and WOW! I was shocked at the dirt and animal hair the Rainbow was leaving behind.The Dyson vacuum is by far the superior vacuum.

The technology is there but the hidden issues aren't. Try and track down parts. With technology things still wear. The over centrifugal forcing of particles is not necessary and eventually the fine dust builds up in short order. In reality the eye of the storm of the cycling separator has the cleanest air however there is still quite a bit of resistance in this cyclone separation principle. Add to it swirling airmass creates static which doesn't fully drop the fine particles into the bin. They build up on the outside cyclone columns and make their way through gaskets and seals. After constant use, even 3 months there's lots of fine build-up. You do lose suction. This is from normal use and coming from a person that repairs and services these. Bagless is not always best. It costs less to buy bags and hepa filters than it is to clean the the root cyclone column canister ( not the dustbin) and the amount of static during dry air conditions is bad. Plus the trapping of pathogens that stay stuck in the crevices can lead to spread of bacteria when stored, they can multiply and migrate out of the vacuum when not in use for extended periods and the first time turning it on after a time of no use can increase the spread. Don't be misled either by gimmick torture test videos on these products like ball peen hammers taken to the dustbin to see how strong they are or dropped from different heights. The ball mechanism that rolls does follow the contours behind you as long as you are on a smooth floor and the side rollers on the ball doesn't have any binding.

@saravananeureka Actually, wet dust can fly. Rexair is the manufacturer of the Rainbow - the first model (Series A) in 1936 did not use water, it was bagless and didn't lose suction, and used cyclonic technology - like Dyson. Water wasn't introduced to the Rexair until April, 1937. AS A RAINBOW RUNS, it evaporates water (2 to 3 cups per hour) which is fine if the water is clean. That's why Hepa "neutralizers" get filthy on the exhaust of a Rainbow - motors look like they were dipped in mud.

If you think the DC28 is nice, wait till you see the truly self propelled DC32 MotorDrive - the handle is like a joystick and the drive wheels propell the vac left adn right as well as forward and back.

My eureka has bristles that go deep into the carpet. It picks up my dogs hair effortless. It only cost me $40...

Think the idea of the DC28 is great. the DC34 transforms into a F-22 Fighter Jet and fly's your carpet into the vacuum of space.

Dyson is a extensive piece engineering but doesn't last any longer for the price they charge

Hey I saw one for free last week on craigslist. "on the curb" I know why the guy tried to fix it 1000 times. Because I tried to fix mine. It is a poor design. You can see the things still there after passing over them. Don't buy one! Check ebay and craigslist. Value is actually zero. But I bet you can pick a few up at any landfill any day.

Indeed. Miele are much quieter and acknowledged as such in "Consumer Reports" tests. They are top rated products from Germany and will last much longer than a Dyson. Check out their user reviews on Amazon, folks.

@kkjgg112391 No, I have owned both, never once has my Kirby needed to phone home. My $5 kirby sucks better than George Michael in a park restroom. It will suck it'self to the floor so well you can't push it. The Dyson actually will cause hearing damage. (I speak about the one I had) I love music, and so I don't light off firecrackers, go to nugent concerts or use Dyson Vacuums. Dyson's posted db level exceeds allowable city db levels. Dog may run away too. I post to help folks.

dysons are the biggest pile of wank ever. no loss of suction well thats an understatement, even when u clean the filters!! they look pretty and thats it. now replaced my pile of crap with a henry and i am more than impressed, wished i bought the henry in the 1st place instead of wasting £200 od quid on a crappy dyson. so anyone considering getting a dyson dont u dont get value for money!!
