Yeah. This is amazing. I'm confused because in a recent interview in Powertrain's channel, the main guy who worked on Train 18 (Vande Bharat) was saying India doesn't have aluminium train manufacturing capability yet.

I’m expecting a more nuanced video of the Pune Metro. A few things which I felt should have been worth mentioning in this above video- 1. Two stretches of the Pune Metro will be having double-decker flyovers like the ones at Nagpur. 2. The underground section frm Shivaji nagar to Swargate will be passing under the riverbed of the Mutha River. 3. There will be two multi-modal hubs at Shivajinagar and Swargate metro stn. and a commercial complex is to be created at Swargate metro stn. 4. The Vanaz Metro Depot has been built on the site of a previously existing garbage depot which after completion, will be home to a ‘metro park’.

Glad to know Made in India / Kolkata is bieng used in Pune Whereas Made in China trains are bieng used in Kolkata Metro Trains

Kolkata Metro already has 45 Made-in-India trains currently, and 18 more scrapped made-in-India trains in the past. Only 14 are made-in-China. Could have been given to BEML though...

For Pune it is politics Project was approved in 2008 but since then Politicians are fighting on the format of metro 1.) Metro should be underground not above the roads 2) But we are Glad that Nitin Gadkari took this issue in his hand and ordered that Metro will be over the roads Work was started on 2015 and now it is 80% completed😁😁All Punekars are so happy now😀

@Rahul Sharma more than Mumbai, it’s her sister town Navi Mumbai which’s been crying even louder! The construction of Navi Mumbai had begun about a decade back and it still hasn’t gotten even one proper line operating fully. & about the proposed Navi Mumbai Airport….the less said the better.😢😔 that proposed airport was also Punekars’ real hope since the ppl of Pune themselves were/ are hopeless of Pune ever getting its own int’l airport.

What an irony we have Titagarh Wagons but we order from China the worthless Dalian rakes. Hope Titagarh Wagons will also make for Kolkata specific rakes which runs on third rail.

One not in operation Crrc Dalian is not the worst thing here, it's the faulty and ugly ICF rakes running that makes line 1 buggy.

So Titagarh Wagon is making coaches for Pune metro but Kolkata metro is ordering coaches from ICF, China but not from Titagarh Wagon which is a Kolkata based company, Surprising.

Maharashtra has 3 cities with Metro. UP has 5 cities with metro. Gujarat 3 cities. But Kolkata has 1 and 1/2. Sad to see that politics of state government is ruining this state.

Maharshtra's metros can't be called real metro yet. Delhi is definitely light years ahead.

@@sumitmukherjee7131 can you explain what you mean by ‘real metro’? & true that cities like Pune got metro service very late but in the coming yrs, more & more routes will be added and it’ll b bigger n better. & Delhi being the capital city will always be favored first than any other city.

@@akashrao7496 Real metro is when it has real ridership and is actually useful. Like it is in Kolkata or Delhi. If the ridership is not beyond 5 lakh it's useless in an Indian city.

@@akashrao7496 In Pune and Mumbai the metro doesn't cover major locations. In Pune all major locations where IT parks are located are left out. Hinjewadi, Viman Nagar, Kharadi, Wakad, Pimple Saudagar etc

oh the irony... Pune is running attractive modern metro which are made by a Kolkata HQ'd company while Kolkata metro is using worthless ICF which can easily rank as the ugliest metros in the world... besides being unreliable of course... wonder why don't Kolkata metro scrap these worthless ugly trains and place an order with Titagarh wagons? If the can't replace the whole fleet due to cost, surely they can start with 5-10 trains and work their up from there...

Bengal's "Titagarh wagon limited" is making coaches for "Pune metro" Our Line 1 is already destroyed by BJP's cheap politics, Mamata Banerjee ordered "modern Chinese rakes" for line 2, I hope we will order coaches from our own company for "Line 3,4,6" So happy for you Pune, So finally tamilnadu and bengal both are in "Metro manufacturing race"

No the routes have been designed very well. Line 2/ Aqua Line which runs from Vanaz to Ramwadi, passes through the south-western residential suburbs & more importantly, the ‘Peth’ or the old city areas which are the most densely populated sections. Line 3 of Metro which is still under works, will connect the central parts of the city to Hinjawadi IT Park as also various western suburbs en route. Moreover the future/ proposed extensions will be connecting many fringe areas to the south and eastern parts of Pune which also includes an IT park (Kharadi). If all goes well as per the plans, Pune Metro will have a grid-like connectivity covering all the major areas in addition to feeder transportation systems.
