6:48 a little feedback, when u were on this call with the lady to get her insurance info I could hear her speaking and giving out her information over the phone. Idk if the phone was too loud or she was speaking too loud but that’s violates her privacy, etc. could’ve muted the audio there when she gave that info out.

Do you know her first/last name, D.O.B, phone number, street address, insurance carrier? Ummmm didn’t think so 🤔 Simply just by the policy # gets you nowhere.

Hi, I'm thinking on start a career as a medical administrative assistant/receptionist, but I'm so confused about the insurance theme. I mean, how to check the eligibility, collect co-pays, check the deductibles, all that stuff. Could you please provide more information about that? Thanks in advance!

Just got a job as medical receptionist. No experience, at a private family practice. We do everything from immigration physicals, regular physicals, to Pap smears, to walk ins with sick people, workers comp.. So much paper work and so much to know. I got lucky because everyone is so love and patient with me with learning everything! Insurance is easy and adding new patients is easy. It’s the other stuff. But everything is repetitive so it’s easier to learn. The only thing i Absolutely hate is answering the phone. Theirs always a patient that needs something and I have to look at their chart in computer and figure it out. Then message the docs. I hear the phone in my sleep! I suggest you find somewhere that doesn’t do all that but your day goes fast with it all. I also work weekends, maybe find one that Sunday is closed or something.

For insurance related normally they advised you to go to an insurance course and get the passed certificate. No insurance certificate, is ok but willing to go for an insurance certificate course

Are you required to be Covid vaccinated or can you do an exemption?

The office respected the employees personal choice but I am seeing most medical places are requiring it.

If you work at a hospital you can pick up extra shifts as a secretary and gain experience there. Add the experience to your resume. Then, apply for medical administrative assistant jobs.
