What Minecraft Dungeons SHOULD Look like! dungeons in minecraft have stayed the same for over TEN years. Villages were updated in 1.14, so when is it time for the humble minecraft dungeon? Time to transform...
Maarten ten Velden You’re completely right development is really hard the way that Minecraft works probably takes months and months to get one type of thing into the game and I really like the way you broke it down just simply by saying how it would really work and how hard it is to do this kind of stuff and I like this comment a lot ;)
@@amandarockhold8390 Fighting mobs is a time loss. Most runners just ignore them. They don't need a bow to fight the dragon. You can kill it with beds. Go watch couriway or smth.
The Spider Dungeon is definitely a favourite imo, it's the most unique out of all instead of the Cookie Cutter Undead Dungeons because of the Ceiling Scenario.
“The Redstone is actually very simple!” Grian - the red stone leads into these pistons and opens the door! Mumbo: This multi tiered monostable circuit activates the double piston extender which triggers this flying machine that flys and activates the observer to open the door!
I feel like the treasure should be in the middle of a box, surrounded by traps. If someone is mining or just happens to mine in the side then they could just skip the traps
These are very good remakes! I suggest making the loot in the chests related/themed with the dungeon itself, example if the chest if in a drowned dungeon, the loot would contain things you can find underwater as of the 1.13 update, and another suggestion would be to make the arrows in the stray dungeons be slowness arrows. Also I also suggest making the chests from the zombie dungeon to be inside of the zombie cages as that kind of makes more sense, and they can have rotten flesh/themed items, other than that your dungeons are great!
Grian commited many crimes in this video. 1. Wore golden armour. 2. Mined diamond with lava right next to it. 3. Killed a spider with a pickaxe. 4. Dug straight down.
I liked the idea of a redesign, but this is the one thing that gets me. He says the old dungeons were like that, but this design is still really funky if you enter it from any other side.
You have an 8% chance to hit lava. Thats almost every 1 in 10, seeing as you're gonna go mining a lot more than 10 times, it's a bad idea. A really bad idea. 8% is a really big percentage when it's done frequently.
I wouldn't say that. While you've got favourable odds for each individual go, there's still a fairly significant chance for it to go wrong, especially after a few tunnels.
I really like this. So many mods and so many suggestions take things way past what vanilla feels like. These are small, simple, and aren't like those ridiculous megadungeon mods. This improves on the structure without really changing what it is
They should really add this. They did say they made the dungeons more "exciting", but to be honest, I don't even remember what they changed. Would be perfect for the wild update
Honestly I really like this! The changes aren’t too drastic, they still have mostly the same content, but they are just re-arranged and modernized for today. Maybe if Mojang were to actually do this they could add multiple new layouts for each type of dungeon. Idk but this is just great, it updates everything for the modern times, and keeps what players know and use these for. Btw I think the spider one is honestly really cool, prolly my favorite.
But some ideas they present is not too minecraft like as grian addressed in another generated structures video and so their builds might be too complex to still be in minecraft and doesn't iniciate the player to build? Just imagine walking into a villege made by Grian and having a super computer in it made by mumbo, it would take away the fun of upgrading a crappy villege yourself
Atom Gaming if you play on server with plug-in (like 99,999% of the non-moded server) you maybe can craft some by dropping string or something, or if you play with mobs but in vanilla minecraft nope, there is no way (and i don’t think there will be one, how humans suppose de make a cobweb???)
You forgot the Mesa dungeon. Looks like the desert one (except all the blocks are red sand variants I stead of regular sand)and for the treasure room there’s be red sand falling and cave spiders would be spawning (because of the surface mineshafts)(works the same way as the regular spider spawner. It’s on top of the roof)
Claim, then sell the rewards for emeralds, saying the flesh and bones are from an ancient king, and the cobwebs are from a gigantic spider, *S T O N K S*
The ice dungeons would be great with the new powder snow as a trap in the entrance. I'd love to see dungeons and other structures get improved proper some day
These are really cool dungeons. I normally sneak around the spawner areas to get the loot. Actually, In one of my survival games my spawn area was near a pillager area and a witch hut. And because I actually have a bad habit of dying (because I don't pay attention to my heart levels when in battle...heh...), I wanted to figure out a way to, well, not die. So, for the witch hut I snuck underneath and used my axe to take out some of the floor then use dirt to stand on. The pillager tower I used my pickaxe through the side (actually another time, I somehow made it up to the roof and used the pickax down from there). Once I got the loot, I ran like hell.
@@jordansykes4298 ooohhhh that's what you think he is always online he is always in your game stalking you he is always here he even hears this conversation
grian buddy you just perfectly demonstrated the dangers of an enemy who breaks up and strategically places their forces with the skeleton and stray dungeons. Kudos for showing the challenges of good tactics!
For the desert one it would be cool for the first room to be a cactus maze then the second room with the spawner will also have a bunch cactus in it so not only will you have to fight the husk you also have to avoid the cacti, for the snow one it would be cool for the first room to have a floor of snow and you have to guess which block is normal snow and which on is powdered snow and in the spawner room there will also be some powdered snow on the floor so not only will you have to fight the stray you also have to avoid the powdered snow and not get sucked in
ibxtoycat slowly goes more insane while waiting for a cave updade, and Grian has gone as far as recreating a cave structure. MOJANG, CAN YOU HEAR OUR CRY FOR HELP!?!?! WE NEED A CAVE UPDATE!
0:23 The structure of dungeons has stayed the same since Infdev, but the loot in the chests has had tweaks to it, such as when enchanted books were added, and also when Minecraft 1.9 added several new items to dungeon chest loot as well as tweaking many item weights. Also, prior to Minecraft 1.3, breaking spawners didn't reward experience orbs like it now does.
