I have finally convinced my wife to get us a 2500 big horn. My grandparents have a lot of stuff and they are planning on selling their assets and giving me, their only grandchild, the stuff I pick... well it's a 32 ft camper. About 7500lb, so knowing your boats around that, I think I'm making a good choice.
You wouldn’t even know that camper is there behind that truck. I towed a 12,000lb 5th wheel down from Canada, through national parks and such too, in my father in laws Ram 2500 (2011 270k miles) and I was amazed how easily it handled it. I did make a video of that too.
Not sure what’s legal in your state, but I have an 08 6.7 and with my car trailer I get 19-21 on the highway. It’s deleted with a mild tune and 35’s. The emission system really bogs these trucks down
@Nicholas Miller I know Utah has emissions testing, so I’m assuming a DEF delete would cause issues here? I’ll have to check because that MPG sounds nice.
@@gavinwalker5686 Yes. If you have emissions testing yes. The EPA is cracking down hard on this as well. Also Nicholas (Or Nick) has a vehicle that weights less than ours and is probably the manual from that year. Those 2008's were also early stages emissions. So deleting them are more worth it than now. You're not going to gain anything by deleting that you wouldn't gain by doing the Banks setup for example. I know you've been looking at all of this since the PCM issue. I have a 2020, not deleted, zero issues. I take care of my emissions system like I do all of my systems with preventative care. I am not deleted and I'm having no issues. Once I get the Banks system in place, I will probably be doing more videos but my truck currently sits at 9060 lbs (non-loaded) and I'm getting 21mpg on the hwy with 35s NITTO RidgeGrappler's 35x12.5 on stock wheels.
I didn't. Since it came from the factory with the 20's, the rubber was 33.5" tall, so my 35's weren't that much bigger. I put them on in a hurry before heading up hunting in the snow, and when I got back I never got around to it, lol. But the speed seems pretty accurate anyways.
