He does this every night, gradually snakes onto the floor, at which point he usually gets up and moves.

My Rudder does the same thing when I am gone. As soon as I leave he patrols the house and checks every room for any biscuits or other snacks afterwards it’s straight upstairs to my bedroom and onto my bed for a nap, then downstairs to watch the Animal Planet or Cartoons and more napping, then patrolling the house looking for biscuits or crumbs then into “his room” for some radio time (he loves talk radio) and as soon as he hears my car he is to the door waiting

They love how comfy a dog bed is, but being Huskies, they get pretty warm, so they slither off the comfy bed onto the cool floor - until it gets too hot from their body heat, then they slither somewhere else, then repeat. Part of what makes them charming.
