Well clan pestilence, atleast according to old lore, was also leaning towards nurgle, while in the jungles of lustria. So they and there vassal clans have a secondary god interest. They even fought with other clans over that issue if I remember correctly. But I don't know how that translates to age of sigmar.

It would be an interesting addition to have some units who are either amalgams of soul shavings working for either Sigmar or Nagash, or completely hollow husks of Stormcast without anything left but still forged for war

My current painting project is a break from 40K. I got some cool heads from ETSY that look a lot like Cobra Vipers from GI Joe. I had to shop around for bodies in the right scale and settles on the Ooh Rah minis from Wargames Atlantic. When I am done I will have a squad of 10 Cobra Vipers. I have no game plans for them they are simply fun models I want to own.

The first model i bought simply for the sake of painting it was a dark apostle. A local store that sold minis was sadly closing down and was selling them off half price and I though why not? They were also selling all there GW paints at a pound a pot. So i really filled my boots on the contrasts and shades that day.

After painting so many Ultramarines and Lamenters, got super burn out from yellows and checkerboards. Bought that Shark Daddy model off Major Minis to paint and what a refresher to try and use more neutral colours like blacks and greys, lots of tips from here on how to make black not so black too

Plauge monks were released in the same year as the night runners, I think, it was so long ago, my memory is a bit fuzzy. I'm 50 now and I have been into this hoddy since I was 14 15 years old. I remember the plastic clan rats you could buy then.

plastic nightrunners were released in 99. The plastic Plague monks came out in '04

Yeah, Nightrunners are a few years older than the plaguemonks... Unfortunately, neither were on the WarCom list of miniatures leaving the range. So chances of them getting updated in the near future are slim.

I use Mr Hobby semi-gloss spray (I'm in Japan), it's the perfect balance varnish for me, doesn't ruin metallics like matte does.

Problem is, only one other model (Lord Celestant on foot) from the list of units leaving the model range has kept rules in the new faction pack. I'm not holding my breath for any of the others... So I really don't know what else they're supposed to get with their book.

Don't look back sounds similar to 7tv which is a ruleset for basically running any setting but styled as episodic tv episodes which opens the floodgate for 90s tv show nostalgia mini printing that actually has a use rather than just being shelf clutter.

It might do well for you to take a look at the northstar military miniature range they have some really cheap minis for frostgrave and stargrave, alot of the range is perfect for bits and stuff.

I have had great results from Rustoleum Dead Flat for varnish. GMG mentioned using it. It’s the same formula as Testors Dull Coat (Testors has been a brand owned by them for awhile) and for $10 a can at Walmart.

So the reason the skaven don't skew towards one of the four main chaos gods is because they believe their rat God to be the 5th chaos God. It doesn't go over well with the big four, but I personally believe it's true

I picked up the Raging Heroes TGitG Iron Empire jet girls and character off eBay a while back. The Rocketeer was a favorite movie and I like the pulp hero aesthetic. I plan to paint the some day. Maybe as a diorama.

GW already told us which models were leaving the range for the Skaven and Stormcast... good chance the units still in the army list are the ones coming back. Unfortunately, night runners and plague monks weren't on that list, so they're likely to stay sad and old. So which models does that leave us? For the Stormcast, there is only the Lord Celestant, on foot. Kind of surprising more of their older stuff isn't leaving the range so they can update those, especially some of the things from the 1oS 1st Edition. The Skaven side, has a lot more we are likely to see updated: Arch-Warlock Master Moulder Plague Priest Acolyte Globadier Stormvermin Warpfire Thrower / Ratling Gun (anyone NOT want to guess that these will be in a single kit?) Doomflayer

Personally I don't play tabletop with my models, just build and paint. So everything is pretty much pick to paint, so picked Harlequins, as love the idea and lore of them. BUT, I do love the aesthetic of the Wraiths, so have also picked up a Wraithknight and a Wraithseer, all of which I will be painting with a Harlequin theme.

The Blood Bowl Gnomes, I have never looked at a Blood Bowl anything previously and I saw a preview of those and ran to my local store when they came in. I'm mostly a Sci Fi painter and especially like big tanks and huge stompy robots but I needed a Fox with a football in its mouth for my collection.

Whats comming for Skaven: New Arch Warlock, Master Moulder, (Giant) Rat Swarm, Warpfire Guns, Gutter Runners, Stormvermin, Skyre Acolytes and maybe a new Doom Flayer. For Pestilence Units, I have not much hope, but I guess, they will all come new in 5th.

Big doubts on some of these. Source: a very accurate rumour AND comparing the official list of models leaving the range, to the unit options in the new faction packs. What isn't changing: Nightrunners, Plague Monks What's missing: Gutter Runners, (Giant) rat swarms, Warp Grinder, Plague Censer bearer What's in: Arch-Warlock, Master Moulder, Plague Priest, Acolyte Globadier, Stormvermin, Warpfire Thrower / Ratling Gun (good chance these will be in a single kit), Doomflayer

for the new eshin runners & pestilence infantry, just look at the underworlds warbands! they are a collection of all eshin or pestilence units reimagined in beautiful plastic & are a wellspring of new ideas, even tho it's just 5 different guys. it's easy to see the bigger picture

My list is storm vermin, plague monks because we did have the plague pack sculpts for the other game, a weapons team kit so you can convert to what you want, new warp lighting cannon, and maybe a screaming bell or plague furnace

Seeing as GW already told us which existing models would be leaving the range... I'm not hopeful for new plague monks, warp lightning cannon, screaming bell, or plague furnace. Different case for the stormvermin and weapon teams though. New stormvermin are all but confirmed as far as I'm concerned.

I enjoy painting my warhammers very much, but I do also get burned out sometimes. Usually I either take a break or spend some time working on scale model tanks. I have been looking at tank units for the Bolt Action wargame- they're smaller, so they're not a big commitment, and I could maybe use them for a historical wargame if I ever have enough.

Idk if it was something non-human, but I know a Chaos Sorcerer became a Stormcast. I think Sigmar just reforges worthy souls with his human shaped stormcast molds. Which feels weird, but also makes since for Sigmar tbh

Euhm Shooting armies have been the meta in AoS 3rd edition for a while... I mean if you can hit your opponent whilst not being hit, you win. Pretty much any Stormcast tournament list was either "Shootcast" or Dragons.

I dunno man, they've included Skryre, Verminous and Moulder clan models in Skaventide, I am pretty sure that the master moulder kit is still metal, so I'm REALLY hoping that is one of the other new ones, something to lead those sick new rat ogres, definitely hoping that Eshin and Pestilens get at least one release each, but perhaps the master moulder, stormvermin, plague monks, the warpfire dudes, and an eshin model are the plan, guess we'll see soon

GW already told us a few months back which models were leaving the range. The Master Moulder was one of them, so were the Stormvermin and warpfire throwers. Pretty good chance all these get new models, especially after they got new rules, unlike the plague censer bearers and gutter runners. I kind of hope a new Master Moulder goes more with the warpstone stun rod idea from the plastic Island of Blood mini, rather than the whip on the metal one.

@ArynCrinn I am perfectly prepared to trust whoever is handling the resculpts on Skaven, when I heard they were redoing clan rats I was really, really nervous, because honestly the old ones are still good looking, and I wouldn't mind mixing a few in with the new 80 I currently have, but they blew those (and quite frankly everything else in the Skaventide box) out of the water, so if they tell me that they have a new master moulder, stormvermin and warpfire throwers in the oven cooking, I'll wait happily for my slice of pie at this point

A top coat varnish thats fully compatible woth actilics its bosny, its rattle can mostlly but it hasnt given any problems, one idk if its more available in the usa its mr.hobby's mr.super clear matt, its a smaller can than usual but irs the best for modelkits like gunpla

I don't understand how people find stormcast boring. Yeah, they're big armored golden warriors, which is kinda basic. But they're also reborn souls trapped in a cycle of endless warfare that they have no choice in and only escape by going mad and losing their soul. They drop onto the battlefield on lightning, and need their mortal descendants to chant their deeds to keep them from devolving into soulless automata. It's not fair to compare ANYTHING to the Seraphon, so I don't hold that against them.

When I was a kid reading old Warhammer Fantasy books and codexes, I always thought the Empire was cool because they were like regular old townsfolk, and everything they were facing was bigger and scarier than them. All those old black and white illustrations of battle scenes against hordes of undead/orks/skaven. In 40k I love the SM-stomp-xenos-and-heretics dynamic, but in fantasy I preferred the humans feeling a bit more like the normal thing that reflects the crazy fantasy world all around them. I guess I don't like the idea of Space Marines in Fantasy.

I always liked the verminous and pestilence stuff better than the Skyre. I know everybody loves the wacky tech. But I always liked the swords n chainmail n warrior monks a lot. So if they get some love I’m going to start skaven

I know your problem with the Stormcast Eternals. I started with the golden boys and got a decnt siced army ....but i wasn´t feeling it.......untill i invented my own stormhost. I think its the same as for Space Marines. Why do you collect Black Templars and not Ultramarines? Just make your own Chapter of Stormcasts to get exited!

Leading rumour is a new edition. Box is said to have jetpack Tempestus Scions vs Vespids. If you want Kommandos and Krieg though, the current starter set is excellent value.
