You missed Teddy Roosevelt, the one with the most similar situation. He got shot while giving a speech on the campaign trail as a former president trying to get reelected. Also, they both had very minor wounds from it.
Except Teddy was shot in the chest before his speech started and he went on to give a 3 hour speech before going to the hospital. Imagine having a president that bad ass now? He challenged visiting dignitaries to (friendly) boxing matches and wrestling matches at the Whitehouse. Imagine a president saying to Putin, "Let's go to the basement and settle this like men." lol
He wash his car times enough to the octopus has water, and he storage his fish food remains in the garage instead the food remains recycling bin, because its too cold or too hot outside.
What I mean is it provides no new information. It just poses a series of questions from a so called news channel this is very poor. If you watch task and purpose analysis you will may see what I mean. It adds nothing new to the whole issue. If that had of frame it in the way of no answers but didn't ask such leading/misleading questions and and stick to the known facts and left out the speculation. It would have been ok.
remember the trump rally to the white house? remember the secret police bashing up the window and blaming some protestants that tehy did it and tried to put them in jail? there are litterally videos of it, of protestors recording it and the secret police trying to convince people to go inside the broken window. i remember one protestor saying "hey what the hell are you doing?" afterwards the secret service tried to accuse the protestor he was breaching into the white house.. also remember when the secret service let every protestor go through and even wave hello and afterwards they try to spin the truth saying there were beasts trying to destroy the white house?? yeah this event isn't sheer coincidence, they knew about it.
July 13 is smack in the middle of summer vacation. Crew is understaffed, can't get replacements, is bored and complacent with another Rally. Incompetence is the better explanation.
Ok, one more point. They say there was officers inside the building the shooter was on. I don’t know if anyone has been inside metal building but it is very loud crossing a tin rooftop. I have built many of these type of building and it is impossible not to hear a person on the roof
@@ThatGuy-bz2in I keep hearing that word a lot in this story. I would ASSUME that if my job was to protect someone like President Trump I wouldn’t be ASSUMING anythig
@@ThatGuy-bz2in- “… wanted their teams on the roof” Local enforcement wanted people on the roof. It was also stated that it was too hot so people were not persistently deployed. The secret service head also said they did not want to put people on a slanted roof. Resigned Cheeto is a disgrace, not having any information.
@@DavidHalko I'm not sure you made a point anywhere in there that was relevant to what was discussed. The question was why didn't officers who may have heard someone on the roof stop the shooter. My answer was they believed it was one of theirs. You didn't really say anything relevant to what I said though.
This is the third video from this channel (which i like a lot usually) that is highly theoratical, not at all reporting on a geopolitical news but just theorizing highly speculatively. I am losing faith and interest quicly. commenting on trends and events is within the scope but speculating on conspiracy theories and quoting MTG is another Another big turn off recently was quoting the heritage foundation on French economics (which are bad, no problem there) but quote anything BUT the heritage foundation
3:16 "Very, very good aim" LOL. I love when European civilians share their "expert" opinions on shooting. He fired 8 times from a prone position at 150 yards with a DPMS-brand AR and only came close with once, this is awful. If you can't consistently hit a man sized target at 200 yards with a rifle, you have no business in competition shooting. Hell, the last 2 gun competition I watched had 6 inch circles at 200 yards after a 100 yard sprint. Firing prone and rested is a hell of a lot easier than in a standing position while you are sucking down air.
No joke; hitting a functionally completely stationary, man-sized target, from the prone, with a rifle, at 150m, really is not very difficult. 1 "functional hit" out of 8 shots is awful; with that said, accuracy in stressful/combat environments plummets quite precipitously, and I imagine he likely felt a good bit of pressure while shooting.
It continuely shocks me that nobody in the news mentions that a person did get killed some one in the crowd a sherrif was it ?.??? I cant remember but as well 2 other people injured who were they why hasnt anybody talked about them werent their lives as important besides the young shooter who was he for instance and why and i think the whole thing was a setup clear as day a surgeon said if it had been a bullet that shered his ear at least half his ear would’v come off and it healed so called with in about 2 weeks ???? His name was Corey Comperatore. Nobody in the msm cares that he was killed, because he was a Trump supporter. The men that were seriously injured are: James Copenhaver and David Dutch. Rep. Ronny Jackson’s nephew was slightly wounded in the neck, and four Pittsburgh Police Department officers were slightly wounded by bullet fragments.
If it was an inside job the plotters would have picked a scapegoat that would have been easy to manipulate/already radicalized so they could just push the would be assassin in the right direction and no one would question motives. All the various authorities were guilty of is plain negligence, complacency, incompetence, and sheer brainlessness.
Maybe just regular incompetence or laziness, all suggested things would involve more work. Police regularly seem to critic the secret service, it just comes to light whenever security fails.
Considering the sheer number of times a US president has been shot, I'd say people GROSSLY over-estimated their capabilities throughout the history of their existence. Their competence is highly suspect. And if you actually look at videos of their training, you'd realize they don't even come close to a level of training of US military special forces, not even close. They are also paid a disgustingly low salary.
Why does everyone keep using Cook's childhood picture? I could understand if this was done right after the event, it was the only thing people could find. But it has been a month and a half, and there is even video of him walking around at the event.
@@hhf39p another thing that no one is covering is the video of cook saying he hated President Trump and all republicans. He was not a republican, he may have registered several years ago but he was definitely not republican when he made that video
Hanlons Razor. It is a saying that reads: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." Think that is what you're after, but the same thing. I don't get these videos. Trump is the most controversial person in America. Of course he is going to get assassination attempts. The assassin was a loser probably looking to be famous. He didn't really have any friends, and wasn't there. And the secret service just were incompetent. No conspiracy is needed. Trump lived, because they were ontop of him, which forced the lunatic to fire quickly, and Trump moved his head. This is why pros shoot body mass. Talk about making a video just to stir it up. Got nothing. No new information. Just click bait.
It would have to be incompetence of like 7 different things from several depepartments all coming together at the perfect time. Not impossible, but questionable at the least
Mhmhmhm.... I don't know... did you listen...? 1)no reason to be understaffed 2)no reason not to do the same as any other events... I mean, I'm all for "the bullet shouldn't have touched just the ear..." And with that goes my ability to discover your country... well I'm perfectly fine in other parts of the world... sad but true
Yeah, I don't get it. There was no way that rifle and non-magnified red dot from 180 yards with a 5" deviation could possibly deliberately hit Trump's ear while he was moving it all around in a 5 mph wind.
@@stachowi Corey Comperatore, killed. David Dutch, severely wounded. James Copenhaver, severely wounded. Rep. Ronny Jackson’s nephew, and four Pittsburgh Police Department officers were slightly wounded. MSM doesn’t care about any of those people.
Im checking out at 4:15, when he cites the ALREADY DEBUNKED claim that the shooter donated to Democrats. That was a DIFFERENT Thomas Crooks, who is a 69-year-old lifelong Democrat. Fact-checking is crucial for a channel like this one. 🤔
Actually, it's your claim that was debunked. Please get your news from legitimate sources. He was a Republican that once donated to a Democratic PAC. The address used for the donation matches the shooter. This is fact, whether you like it or not.
several mysteries. bullet healing factor is on par with Deadpool. high calibar bullet, no scars. why an ear wound requires you to be carried off stage like you can't walk. dodges bullet, grabs ear. face is bloody, raises fist. no blood on fist. incredible. ahh yes, these mysteries may never be solved.
@VisualPolitik It's irresponsible to encourage debate, we should all demand questions be answered. But anything that clarifies the situation is not gonna come from 'debating' it's gonna come through specialist, the senate and house and bureaucrat doing their work. 'Debates' will only serve to muddy the water, breed conspiracy and misinformation. On a topic this serious you should be ashamed fishing for interactions on the video.
A hot slanted roof is the kind of innocuous reason that makes total sense to me. It’s why everyone on the ground also dropped the ball when there was someone clearly up there. Expecting someone to be up there from the secret service so didn’t act. I mean the guys actually said it out loud. It’s just unfortunate that that was the day someone was there to take advantage. Quite boringly they just need better coordination.
I think the problem is that they could not believe there would be a shooter; there never was in their whole career. They assumed the shooter was one of them. And most public services are under-staffed, and they also got complacent. And if you apply Hanlon's razor, you should never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence.
I wouldn't put doubts on him being a terrible shot. We don't know if what hit his ear was a bullet or a piece of shrapnel resulting from the bullet hitting something else. And even if it really was the whole bullet itself, it doesn't prove anything about the shooter's skill level. Even a terrible shot can be lucky sometimes. All of the follow up shots all missed as well which further supports the hypothesis that he wasn't really skilled or experienced. It sounded like he panicked after he saw that he missed and tried to shoot again and again without taking proper aim, which would absolutely be something an amateur would do.
No matter how you feel about Trump, more than three coincidences rarely occur back to back. So being open minded to all the possibilities is only logical.
General rule of thumb I have is lone wolves are some of the most successful assassins. The three big reasons. Why is a death wish, hardest spot, and least people involved.
I am usually a big fan of VisualPolitik, but this comes across as a conspiracy theory with no evidence. As you have no facts to back this up, I am sitting here shaking my head and wondering why I bothered watching...
The responsibility is with the FBI and Secret Service to release information. There's is 0 chance that probably the two most well equipped agencies in the world would still have no idea what's going on.
I disagree. I think they still leaned on poor leadership but to dismiss conspiracy at this stage would be foolish. We often dismiss all conspiracies because we all have that uncle that believes anything, as long as it involves the subject. The truth is, though, that conspiracies are real and common in many countries. We’ve been fortunate but if we are foolish enough to believe ourselves immune, we will fall. Like they say, very likely that this was piss poor leadership, but the evidence is certainly not there to allay the doubts
@@ThatGuy-bz2in wow, some one has a case of TDS, i think the key word in your reply is loner. If he’s a loner what does he need encrypted messages for let alone 3. Don’t bother replying I don’t argue with idiots, you can never get them to look at the facts, hope you have a good night
I'm not that surprised there was a gap in security due to some miscommunication,... what I find really weird about this is how someone ended up at just the right time and place to exploit it. Are there people at every or at least most rallies, looking for any kind of lapse in security like this one, just waiting to pounce on it? Doing things like observing sites with drones, having weapons nearby, but never getting caught? And that ensures EVERY gap in secret service protection is likely to be exploited? Or did the shooter just show up at a random rally, looked around for an exploitable weakness, easily found one and went for it? If so, was it just an incredible coincidence that he did so at precisely the rally with the rare weakness, or are such lapses just so common that if at any given time someone actually looks for one, they're likely to find it? Or, did the shooter have some kind of insider information ahead of time, that the roof will be empty, even though it was supposed to have snipers on it. Either way, every scenario does look kinda weird in it's own way.
You're assuming that the gap is an aberration. If this was the only time there was a gap and he happened to thread the needle through it, that would be very strange. If these kinds of gaps happen all the time, then it become much less strange.
@@thetimebinder Ok, but as the video says, supposedly the secret service told local police to secure that roof, and as the videos says, it was only down to a miscommunication that they didn't end up putting anyone up there. This miscommunication and the fact no one would be there the next day is not something the shooter should be able to figure out from just scouting the location the day before.
@@ThatGuy-bz2in That is one of the options I consider in my comment there: if lapses in secret service protection happen all the time, that is pretty weird and quite alarming in its own way too.
@@SirConto It wasn't a miscommunication. The security didn't deem the roof a threat because it was too steep. That's why there was no sniper up there. Again, the roof was outside the security perimeter. The shooter didn't have to do a bunch of Mission Impossible shit. He just walked over and climbed up. When people spotted him, the security each thought he was a sniper for another security detail.
This was an odd video with several mistakes it seems: for instance the Secret Service has many other responsibilities than just being body guards like counterfeit etc. They have also for a long time had severe problems with recruitment etc If we can't trust you on this topic, how can we trust you on any other you make videos about? Time to unsub I think...
To paraphrase, don't attribute to conspiracy what can be attributed to neglect, incompetence and DEI policies and a shift in focus from performing the core job to being politically correct. We've seen exactly what has happened to the Secret Service happening to the US military. It's not surprising that when you shift away from training geared at doing the job competently to training geared at some political stance that such things can happen.
RealLifeLore did a great breakdown on everything about it. In short; it sounds like a combination of incompetency, complacent, understaffed and unlucky. In short; they screwed up.
A couple things of note: 1. Actually getting a gun legally varies from state to state, and some states do make it unnecessarily difficult. 2. The investigation needs to look into the medias role in all of this. On the surface, some might question that very statement. However, something to remember with the media lately, is that they've spent the better part of the last 8 years telling people how much of a "threat: Trump is. No matter someone's political leanings, it may spern someone to do something incredibly stupid (and they're back to doing it mere weeks after the attack). 3. Some of the confusion from the Secret Service can be attributed to a lack of coordination of who's where. A viable solution to this would be introduce a "Blue Force Tracking" system to Law Enforcement that can greatly enhance their capabilities, response times, and even offer real time position data. Had such a system existed, the Secret Service may have been able to act sooner. Finally 4: The idea of hiring those who aren't fit for the job needs to go. This whole "Diversity" nonsense needs to end, especially in fields such as Presidential Security. If people can't do it, they don't get the job. Period.
From everything I’ve heard in this episode of VisualPolitik, I think the cause was the Secret Service administration being too cost conscious and this way of thinking affected the entire organisation. It is the same kind affecting Boeing even though the Secret Service is not a private company but the cost cutting mentality might be the same to show in their annual report that the people in charge deserve to keep their jobs. The Secret Service might also be under pressure to take in more minority communities members who better reflect the greater US citizenry and this could be a further burden on their budget. The greater budget constraints could inspire some people in charge to prioritise certain aspects of their fundamental interests over others.
Personly, I tried to remove the shooters name from my memory since as far as we can tell he was just looking for fame. The donation was by someone with the same name and not him.
Are we reading too much into it? A stretched organisation that has to keep up with an intense campaign schedule on both sides... One communication lapse between the local pd and the secret service on sharing the responsibility perfectly coincided with a loner acting out
Let me start with I don't know. However I have listened to several reports. Therefore I'll tell you two points that I have heard (I don't know) that differ from your report. Point 1: The donation to a liberal charity was actually an older person with the same name and it would have been illegal for him to of made that donation because of his age at the time. Point 2: It was reported (I didn't know) that trump actually had more secret service agents at the event than required. What is meant by that statement I'm sure references what is normally given rather than what is actually needed to properly cover the event. I.E. he said she said.
This was caused By complacency? Luckily, for Trump, the guy was a bad shot? And all these conspiracy theorist do not take into account. This guy flunked out of a firearms class because he was such a bad shot. They deemed him dangerous. So this idea that somebody hired a bad shot to do a hit job on a president where they would only have one opportunity at best in the history of time is ridiculous
Not mentioned by the video was another factor possibly at play: a likely emphasis by the Secret Service of diversity over merit. Cheatle had frequently made statements about diversity prior to the assassination attempt. Liberal democrat here who's all in favor of inclusion, but not at the expense of the better qualified person for the job at hand.
Some bad takes in this video. It feels like you're really desperate to appeal to teenage conspiracy theorists to get an algorithm boost. The host is fake/over-exuberant, and your scrptwriter is either trying too hard or not trying at all (I can't tell). Either way, it's embarrassing and disappointing to see your channel lag so far behind others in terms of quality. You guys used to look promising. Your comment about the agents getting jumpy when the shooter was on the roof despite not seeing him can obviously be explained by a radio update. Someone on their channel probably raised the alarm, so of course they knew. Stop being intentionally obtuse.
Every time one of these events happens far too many people go out of their way to connect dots that aren’t connected and look for conspiracy where there just isn’t once. People can’t accept that one crazy person can do a crazy thing. It’s frustrating to watch.
@@dustintacohands1107 The time to believe a thing is when there’s sufficient evidence for it. You’re falling for an easy mental trap where something crazy happens and it seems unbelievable. When every one of these events in our history has been a lone nut job. Like the current leader of the secret service said; it’s a failure of imagination. I’d add gross incompetence to that, but this isn’t some grandiose conspiracy. It doesn’t take a super secret spy rocket scientist ninja time traveler to know not to do this sort of thing at one of his klan rallies where he can be lionized as a martyr. It does take some mental gymnastics to get to conspiracy though.
@@dabluflcn your political leanings are influencing your decisions this is obviously suspicious and requires an investigation. I’ve read history I understand there’s a lot more just stupid than actual conspiracy but this just reeks and the behavior of democrats after the shooting is questionable. Crap like “ don’t miss next time” Or “ to bad he missed” Yeah I’d say with a shooting this sloppy and the amount of hate the top members of the Democratic Party needs investigating along the secret service. The secret service already is not cooperating hasent really offered any explanation for its failure. Seeing the head of the secret service try to hold onto her job while avoiding giving information afterwards really raised my suspicion. If you and your party have nothing to hide with this attempt then there’s nothing to fear.
@@dustintacohands1107 why? A guy was able to walk around outside the security area. There is nothing unusual about that. Why wouldn't he be able to do that?
all i could think is either the secret service incharge is insanly incompetent like to almost a unbelievable level like how did they get hired level or it was 100 percent on purpose and either they didnt plan to kill him but saw a opportunity to let this lone gun man take a shot at it or they planned everything and it wasnt just a happy accident they took advantage off.
If you want decent analysis of the shooting and some answers to questions they bring up in this video go and watch the video from task and purpose channel. This video is nothing more than pointless click bait rubbish.
The planning of the Secret Service was neglegent at best and probably more wreckless than anything. The agents on stage did exactly what they were trained to do: surround and take the bullet meant for the VIP. The men on stage are heroes, even if the life they protected was Trump's
Jesus Christ, guys please do more research. The Thomas Crooks that donated to democrats was not the same guy. Just someone who happened to have the same name in the same state.
