Surgery and anesthesia can be incredibly stressful, but you have more power to control your anxiety and stress than you probably know! Controlling our mental health is so important before surgery because it impacts how we wake up, and even the success of our surgery to an extent. Our mental health can even influence the risk of complications, like pain and nausea. The backbone to controlling our mental health is actually rooted in their foundations of psychedelic medicine, as well, which is fascinating because many anesthesia medications have psychedelic properties.
In this video I walk through three important pitfalls not to fall into before surgery and going under anesthesia. These are simple and powerful tricks that you can use to overcome the stress of surgery, or the stress and anxiety of other parts of life.
They ultimately involve awareness of cognitive rigidity and overcoming rigid mindsets that can cause suffering and pain. That's the last thing we need after surgery and anesthesia, more pain! This is why the power of psychedelic medicine is so impactful around the time of surgery, where this stress of surgery can be a powerful impetus to helping us overcome challenging diseases. We can use these principles to heal the mind as much as the body during the surgery process.
You have more power over your physical and psychological health than you've ever been told! This is revealed when patients are under anesthesia in the operating room for surgery. And it's very similar to the spiritual and psychedelic experiences that many have had in the past to heal their minds and bodies.

I recently had 3 abdominal surgeries in one surgery (hernia repair, gallbladder removal and appendectomy (which was an unplanned surprise) and I'm still seething about it. What was supposed to be a simple hernia fix turned out to be major surgery requiring me to stay in a ghetto dump of a hospital for 4 miserable days. I think it would have been longer but I kept pushing to go home. Nothing was ever explained to me beforehand , my very first surgery ended badly and there will be no more😢😢.

I have had Anxiety and Depression for 30 years and I take medication but it is still debilitating but funnily enough, I always thought that there has to be something in anaesthesia that works for my conditions as I always feel the best I have ever felt, free of my symptoms for a week or so after being put under for surgery. 😊

I hope i never need surgery. But if i do the least stressed part for me would be being lnocked out. Back in the 90s (i was 17) i had all my wisdom teeth removed and i was knocked out. Other than the pain for a few days after (the pain meds didn't help at all) all i remembered was having the best sleep ever, appearantly i told the doctor who tried to wake me up to give me 30 more minutes... assuming he heard me right, as i could bairly talk...but seriously, I'm ok with being knocked out, who doesn't need a good sleep...lol. But also, i like knowing if i ever need surgery, i feel well prepared because of your videos. I'm one of those people that want to ask a ton of questions before something i lnow little about, but i always forget some i want to ask, then i obsess over what i forgot to ask. These videos would definitely help ease that. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

I'm a retired MD and I remember talking to an anesthetist who started giving suggestions to the patient while they go under - positive statements because their mind is soooo suggestible in this pre-op and during anesthesia. So the anesthesiologist can also change any negative mantras to help as well. Such as relaxation statements to positive outcomes like less bleeding etc.

Only surgery I ever had was an emergency, no time to worry. Didn’t have nausea from anesthesia, was surprised to find myself in the recovery room when I was moments before meeting an anesthesiologist! I remember being brought to a room, after which I fell asleep. Awoke refreshed and was discovered out of bed unplugging the IV to use the restroom! I thought I had to pee and would wet the bed, only to find out I had a catheter! 😂. I kind of paid for that stunt a few hours later! They were glad to be rid of me two days earlier than anticipated. If I’m going to be lazing about in bed, I’d much rather do it at home than the hospital. Hiring a home care nurse was the right move for me.

@@MedicalSecrets No I haven't had any surgery before but I always had a terrible fear of anesthesia especially of not waking up after. I even had my wisdom teeth removed one at a time on the chair rather than all at once in the operating room. Now I feel as though if I ever have to go under I'll be prepared.

I've heard many good things about psych's like the psilocybin mushrooms and their health benefits, I also heard it helps one get through addiction and depression. I'm just wondering where or how I can get my hands on them cause I'll love to give it a try, I'm passing through a state of terrible depression lately and it's killing me

I am 61, I am having a full Hysterectomy and removal of Ovarian Cancer which is 8 INCHES WIDE, not cm, INCHES. Th am I am Praying the Anesthesiologist keeps me under AND the team overall while in the Hospital keep me out of pain. I have woken 3 times during Surgery in my Life and can detail the Music, the convos, it feels like a white hot chainsaw … but I am paralyzed. No one ever believes me and while they apologize most sincerely AFTER I have never learned the right sentences to get the Team to REALLY keep me under and pain very well managed in dats and weeks after. I am so upset about this that I am not at all upset over the Surgery or the Cancer JUST pain management. I wish by some stroke of luck you might see this or someone else might and you could advise me.

The fact that doctors are allowed to treat people with horse tranquilizer is terrifying because we want to believe that doctors are trying to help us when in reality they're mostly interested in making money and they get a lot of money for ketamine. Not all doctors are like this, some are wonderful human beings like the guy in this video, but more often than not, they are trying to make money.

@@bandhariwickette ketamine is not a horse tranquilizer that’s what ignorant people pass around to each other. You are probably thinking of xylazine and is not prescribed to people, it has however been added into the illicit heroin supply on the streets. They would only keep you on it if you were in psychosis and violent and that sounds like the casr

I've been overall healthy, up until I was 20. My only surgery that I had until fairly recently has been my appendix removed when I was 15. Since 2016, I've had my mediport put in, followed 3 months later, my gallbladder removed. Then 2021, I had to have a semi reconstruction (brostrum procedure) for my ankle. A year and a half after that, I had to have another surgery on the same ankle to repair more tendons. Now I'm looking at a back surgery, if PRP doesn't work. I'm not even 40 yet. But, I stayed active, prior to my accident.
