I made exactly the mistake you described and used tweezers to push the stem release button. I cannot re insert the stem into the movement. Is there any way at all to fix this?

Hello, I saw your video AFTER doing exactly the mistake you clearly show...Too bad...My movement is the ETA 2836-2, but the concept is equivalent. Now I cannot re-engage the stem fully, it stops at the second position ( change of date and day ), and, once in this position, no way to engage the stem fully ( for winding position ), or take it a bit out ( for setting the time ), it remains blocked ! ! ! Is there any way, please, you could indicate how to correct this ? Thank you in advance ! You learnt me something I ignored after taking out a few hundred stems in my life without a problem....

A mistake many noobs make with this movement. From my joking perspective, it's a right of passage for all noobs. Consider yourself initiated.
