It's a nice way of saying from China, so it might or not be derogatory depending on how u see it, specially if ur not from China. Just take into account that they dont do it on purpose they simply do not differentiate between asian people

Been to San Juan , Puerto Rico, really liked it and you don't have to be worrying about what you wear or having jewelry on. My coworker's wife is from Barranquilla colombia and they went last year and they were victims of strong armed robbery, they got everything stolen from there
