I graduated a couple years ago and definitely would feel weird about having an online-only semester, but technology can really bring people together and I liked how your classmates are already creating Discord servers and using subreddits! Even in these times, it's important to find communities and groups for support -- not just academically, but in life in general. Best of luck this year Jeremy!
jumping on the opportunity of the online classes by getting an apartment in CO! Thanks for the wakeup call with the video man, made me think about how classes may go this fall
This video was really helpful! I’m starting online classes in less than two weeks and I don’t have much experience with them (I’ve taken maybe one or two courses online for my AA degree). I appreciate you taking a different approach to the topic of online learning. 😊
I finished my freshman year in cypress college and before I nearly gave up on it because I been failing really badly but I got help from my friends and I made it. It was stressful and really hard I swear.
I’m starting online college next week and I am really excited I have adhd and in person school is so overstimulating for my brain that I feel like I’ll do great at my house and this makes me feel better because I’ve been nervous me doing my best won’t be enough but as long as I try and finish my work I think I’ll be okay
Same here! Starting school on August 26th and having ADD makes it harder to handle in person classes at time bc of the overstimulation, especially in the beginning of the year when things are so hectic. I’m hoping that online classes will help me focus and not feel so overwhelmed since I’ll be making my own schedule for the most part. Good luck to you!
Same, I dont have enough saved to get one this year but hopefully by the time I have labs I’ll have one. My college is literally a couple of minutes away too
I have online classes few time and but they were not easier what I expected to be bc classes is never hold in-person especially summer classes or spring or fall classes held online still
I'm hesitating between an online and in class program. I'm looking at the online class because I don't want to sacrifice 8 months of salary, but I feel like taking an online program would be less "serious", that I'll have less opportunity to make friends and network, and that employers will not respect my diploma if I got it online. (Both programs are from the same college in my neighbourhood). Is my opinion about the online program true?
I’m in high school and I’m going to do a online class next semester 2 of them I’m doing cis cuz I look that class in high school but didn’t get the credit so I’m just doing the college part will I be overwhelmed or stressed taking care of my other classes to some advice?
it depends. some professors require cams on and some dont. and again it does depend on the class size as well, ive been on 30ppl zooms and 120ppl zooms LOL just depends 😂
For my experience.. we don’t need to turn our camera on. And we mute ourself and our teacher just show herself and talk about it and when we have questions we just ask question through zoom little chat .. but if u want u can turn ur mic on And ask the teacher. If u have a question later on then u can ask the teacher through ur college email.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if you can 100% do online courses at Cal Poly Pomona anymore. I know that they started in-person classes and there are some mandatory in-person labs as well that you might have to complete. Not sure about costs, cheers.
I got into online college for 2 years for free Because i wanted to focus on art stuff So far im doing pretty good on my grades and classes Im on a week 5 right now But its pretty much alout of work to know what website they use If you first get get in college for online It helps alout to stay in touch with your teachers by email Sure they cant respond fast there busy they take time You can get through your classes easy If you take time And dont sweep through it fast Trust me i did it first week It was anxiety inducing Just Take your time on it if you have small classes ok? If you have more try to manage it :)
Agree with most of everything with what youve said. Except some things. Currently working in online classes in community college and I absolutely hate it, AND the professors. Online classes almost make me want to drop out of college ebtirely because if their incredibly high expectations. I do EVRRYTHING as fast as i can to avoid due dates that are rediculous. Every professor expects us to be P.H.D. level and just dont gaf about our lives and think we can do whatever we throw at them. My mental health is about that of some disillusioned maniac, my depression has become rampant, i never socialize woth anyone, NO ONE in my classes actually message each other. It takes me 4 days to get done with everything grinding from 10- 9 at night, not worth a dime. One class assigns over 1 lecture every dam day and I hate his guts for it. DO NOT TAKE ALL ONLINE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. My grades are diminishing from my perfect 4.0 gpa to 3.5 gpshit. If I knew that online classes would be this hard, I would've just dropped my classes entirely and skipped a year. 1/10 for online. WAY harder than in person. Also I do not care about grammar because my professor just sent us 2 lectures that I need to do before i goto work.
Yeah I agree. Each week is loaded with ASSignments, lectures, and other things.. They tell you to manage your time wisely but thats just code word for "Were gonna cram every week full of work so get ready to sit in front of the computer all day and night, all week lol. Think I'll drop this and go for in-class soon.
Now that I got my frustration out. All in all it extremely convenient. You don't have to drive anywhere. You can set your room up to provide the perfect study. Plenty of videos and extra help to make navigating seemless. It can get a bit clustered though. I'm finally getting the grip on it.
@@noble20xx56 it has been a month, 3 to 4 weeks until the semester ends, and I STILL think online is utter shit. No, comparing online to shit is degrading shit already, I couldn't even compare it to SHIT. Complete sap of any social life, degrading in social competence, teachers CRAM EVERYTHING on the last weeks, and they all expect excellency. NEVER making this mistake twice. If nothing is open for in person, i am skipping then. Not worth the seconds, no MILLISECONDS of my life. Completely worthless garbage.
