I had a friend who decided to start with “the first book.” She read Apprentice’s quest 😩 Didn’t listen when I told her she couldn’t start there. It’s just that when you read the books for so many years and then someone does that ugh. I know this shouldn’t bother me this much 😂😢
I started on Midnight bc I was in the library, and there were all different arcs with 1 on them so I got confused and just picked out Midnight and hoped for the best xD it was a bit confusing, but now I've been reading Warriors for 5 almost 6 years so it's worked out! (I'm 13 but I feel old saying that-)
I started back when there was only 4 arcs and I thought there was a lot of books to get through then. I can’t imagine starting now because there is so many 😳
I started this christmas and I've read the first and second series (currently reading Sunset) and bluestars prophecy and Firestar's quest. I think I'll read yellowfangs secret and then the crooked star and mapleshade ones before the power of three
I got into warrior cats this summer. I just finished The Darkest Hour and I’ve read the prologue and a small part of chapter one of Midnight. I am going to read EVERYTHING. I love this universe and I love these characters and I am very exited to read the books in the fourth order that you suggested. Thank you so much, this was VERY helpful.
i've been reading since december 2021 (i had got into in october, but i had only played the roblox game, as christmas was coming up soon) and i'm already done all of arc 1 and im currently on book 3 of new prophecy (forgot what it's called lol) this christmas or for my birthday, i wanna get arc 3 and dawn of the clans. i wanna read all of the main series and then the novellas, super editions and mangas because i hecking love manga (stares awkwardly at my zelda and pokemon manga)
I've been reading since like- 2018. And I wish you luck reading them all, they're really good and there's plenty of content for when you finish a book pfft
Y’all it’s okay if you mess up the order! I started with the new prophecy (not even book 1- book 4 lmao) and didn’t read the prophecies begin until AFTER omen of the stars. So…do what you like haha
“New fans are going to have trouble getting caught up!” Me: looks over to thunder rising (I’m reading in chronological order;-;) Edit: after watching this I realized HOW. MANY. FREAKING. BOOKS. There are and once i finish Dawn of the clans imma just go to the prophecies begin.
Thank you for not spoiling anything. It's hard enough being a new fan to the series as it is, as it is the same with becoming a new fan to anything that has been out for a while and still wanting to avoid spoilers.
@@lolfreakwaca4328 i have no clue... one of my friends just came to me, asked why “the first book” was so confusing. I took a look at it and it was effing Shattered Sky
Ok ok ok so for christmas I asked for the first series of the warriors books and they got me dawn of the clans and I didn’t want them to feel bad so I just read them and I was so confused on what was going on
@@lilliang6744 tbh, Dawn of the clans was an okay start. It’s true that you always better start with The prophecies begin, but unlike all the other series DoTC doesn’t really “follow up” on any books. The only exception you could say are the flashback chapters in Pot and OoTS
When I started reading the books I started on Dawn and I was like "Wait what's going on" then I realized it was a series and begged my mom to get me Into the Wild :'3
I went to my school library and asked what was the first one and read all of dotc before prophecies begin Though my sister had already told me skyclan exists before I even started Edit: just realized this probably needs clarification, I asked what he first book was, the librarian didn't know, looked it up, and it said the first one chronologically, not by publication
me too, i realized i read the wrong series first so i went to get the prophecys begin and well, the school year ended and i moved to the middle school and no more series
I went to a bookstore with my dad and they didn't have the first book of the first series. About a year later, i found the first series in the local Library.
I actually started with 'Moonrise' in the New Prophecy, and then moved on to the first arc. Because apparently my town library only has the second arc and the fourth arc, so I had to order the first arc.
I wish I had this list when I first started, instead I just read all the main series books, then the super editions, then the novellas, then the graphic novels, and finally the field guides
1. I just want to be caught up with then current books. 2:40 2 I wanna be caught up with the full story behind the current books. 3:42 3. I just wanna read the books people talk about. 4:48 4. I want to read everything. 7:08 Ur welcome
If you want to read the series as fast as possible while getting as much info as possible, I would do the following. Read books 1, 3, and 6 of each arc (with the exception of power of thee and omen of the stars). Also read Firestar’s Quest before Power of 3, Dovewing’s Silence after omen of the stars, and Squirrelflight’s Hope before Broken Code. Edit: Full Reading Order 1. Into the Wild 2. Forest of Secrets 3. Darkest Hour 4. Midnight 5. Dawn 6. Sunset 7. Firestar’s Quest 8. Dark River 9. Eclipse 10. Long Shadows 11. Fading Echoes 12. Night Whispers 13. The Last Hope 14. Dovewing’s Silence 15. The Apprentices Quest 16. Shattered Sky 17. The Raging Storm 18. Squirrelflight’s Hope
Question wouldn’t rising storm be important also because 1 huge big spoiler rn yellowfang dies and whoever is reading might become confused on why she was in starclan
Me: *reads the title* Also me: *laughs in reading in any order* Also also me: *cries in not knowing what’s happening* Edit: wtf where did all these likes come from it’s been an hour- Edit edit: W O T - THESE LIKES ARE COMING FROM NOWHERE- 109 LIKES?! WOT- NANI?! (Tysm people
@@problemchild465 The first i read was the First battle. The 2nd i read was the first apprentice. I was like " WHere sthunder? and Gray wing and Clear sky? Where they at? TELL ME
Me, a non-english fan, who lives in a place where the warriors books are not sold (Only the first series) and wants to read everything: *It will be hard. But I'll accept the challenge.*
Me: casually going for reading everything Me realizing I'm on omen of the stars and I've only read 2 super editions known as bluestar's prophecy and yellowfang's secret and have only read rise of scourage
I just startet midnight Im really happy to finally get it and yes i read firestars quest before the new profecy because thats Where it is in the storyline Edit: Sorry if Im bad at spelling english
I have read every book in this order TPB (in order) TNP (in order) POT (in order) OOTS(in order VOS(in order) DOTC (in order) Super Editions ( in random order) Graphic Novels (In random order) Guides ( in random order)
This is absolutley fantastic- I have been wondering for a long time what the chronological order of the books is. I need to reread the whole series with all the super editions, novellas, etc. in the right place-
I'm getting back into the series. I read the first 5 arcs of the main series years ago(I enjoyed the dawn of the clans a lot). I read half of the super editions. I found out how crazy the future books got so I got interested again. Thank you so much for the video because oof I thought trying to figure out the order of the past books were hard but this is something else haha. I'm currently reading the older novellas. I'm also listening to the audio book of Moth Flight's Vision, it's so good.
This is so helpful, I know this isn’t for the new series, but I’m a new one to the books, I needed help for all the series.. I just don’t have special editions, novellas and I only have first 2 series!! You’ve got yourself a new sub, this is so helpful!! Thank you!❤
Thanks for putting this out there, Akira! ♥ Much saner than the 'whatever is at the book store/shows up in the mail first' method I used but no regrets. It's been a good year to get lost in a stack of books and meet the bestest people.
i’d also recommend reading in story order *if* you’ve already read most/all or spoiled yourself on the series :D start with dotc, then go to the many super editions before then, etc etc- i’m pretty sure there’s a list somewhere uwu
Honestly, I would still recommend the Prophecies Begin first. Understanding the weird names/terms/practices is a lot easier when you start with an outsider’s perspective (Rusty) than with Tribe cats or, even worse, intricate RiverClan drama. Hearing a few plot points from your friends /= understanding all the world building. Start with TPB, then do whatever you want.
@@emmettrose5960 that’s why i said if you’ve already read the series- it’s fun to reread in the actual order of the story if you already know what’s happening, and it’s a fun way to pick up on details. i would not recommend starting with dotc without prior knowledge on the series, no, it’s a quite confusing arc in some aspects and i agree. but i didn’t say that lol so ye ^^
I actually read the sight as my first book and I just started reading online to understand everything and have read the latest books and just read a ton of super editions
Thank you so much for letting us know which order the books u should read go in, I recently got a vision of shadows, the broken code and omen of the stars and I was so confused about the order after omen of the starts, thank you, ❤❤
Oh man, you have no idea how much this video helped, the websites are so confusing, with this, i will truly become a master at reading warrior cats, thanks again
I have a confession: I've never actually read the Prophecies Begin. I started with New Prophecy and ended up just never reading arc 1 all the way. I've read the first three out of order and broken up by years, but I've never felt the need to go back and read them.
Well the darkest hour of arc 1 is arguably the best overall book in the entire series outside of scourges Manga. You might have missed out not reading that one.
The first arc is definitely the best in my opinion. It could be nostalgia, but I really think it is also the best written arc! The characters are epic, there is much less filler and the atmosphere is everything. If you have the time to read it, please consider it, I promise it's worth it!
I started with Midnight, so I kind of feel you. But I must say, it felt really cool to read the new prophecy and then the prophecy begins, because there were so many hints to the first arc but not so many that everything was spoiled. Would kind of recommend :)
Honestly, if you ever have the time, I would really recommend reading the prophesies begin. For me, it’s one of the most fulfilling arcs. It’s not full of complex villains or storylines but they are a good set of well written books.
We need an updated video for this. *We all do.* There also should be a catagory of "I wanna read all of the important stuff." Edit: And maybe a "I want to read in Chronological order." Catagory.
i started at omen of the stars then after reading omen of the stars, vision of shadows, broken code, and a starless clan, i then went back to read the first 3 arcs to get a better understanding on what happened before Dovewing was born. and I gotta say there was a lot more than I expected

@@mochathought No problem! It took me a moment to update it. The last time I did was at the end of AVoS. I know some people will say The Rise of Scourge is before Spottedleaf's Heart, but I'm pretty sure it's the other way around (I do not condone Spottedleaf's Heart it's terrible but it's technically canon and I'm not one to discount a canon book just because it teaches a horrible lesson)
I’ll keep this log and try to update every time I’ve finished a book! Series 1 Book 1:✅ Book 2:✅ Book 3: ✅ Book 4: ✅ Book 5:✅ nooooo blue star 🥺 Book 6:in progress but I’m going on vacation
Twolegs aren't gonna read them all fur these reasons 1.They are expensive to buy all of them together. 2.Libaries would never have them. 3.If your young, good luck getting permission to buy at least one book 😂. 4.It'll take moons to read all of them. 5. You'll be old befure you get to the current if your "new", you need luck 😂😂.
Libraries do have them. You just need to put a hold, and they will get the books from other libraries to you. It how libraries work in the US. But due to covid, need to do everything online. Book stores are rare around here and soft cover books are cheaper than hard cover. Not to mention those secret scenes that they put in some books that is impossible to read. Like why needletail is the way she is. Those are hard to get. But everything else should be easy unless you live in a place with no libraries or few libraries
I started around the time thunder and shadow came out. You can catch up pretty quickly, just get one book right after the other a bunch. It takes around a year
Actually I started reading in December of last year I’m caught up I just hv to read the novellas more super editions and the manga books :p I love reading I used to finish the books in 1 day XDDDD
Hey, I love your videos. I have been reading warrior cats since I was 12 ( I am 16 years old now) Thanks to the pass of time I forget some relevant facts or scenes about the books. I would love a video with the summary of each book in each ark, and the supereditions. It would be awesome, since I am going to begin reading the silent thaw, and I want to remember all the events in all the books as clearly as possible
I have a tendency to read books in strict chronological order. For example, I would read Hollyleaf's Story while reading The Fourth Apprentice, going back and forth between books, trying to sync what Hollyleaf was doing at the same time as what her Clan was doing. Like when she put the marigolds up in the tree. I'd read that part of Hollyleaf's Story, then read the part in the other book where they found the marigolds in the tree, then back to Hollyleaf's Story. I know, I'm weird. 😁
If you're the ultimate Warrior Cats noob (like myself), then I recommend *starting out* reading the books in chronological order. There's an awesome Warriors Wiki page for that, and the reason I don't recommend the main website's chronological list is that it's really buggy, at least for me. It'll take a long long time to catch up to the newest books, but at least you'll understand *everything* right off the bat.
That's the nice thing about WOF, for the moment, cause there are only about 1/3 of the number of main books, 1/7 of the number of super editions and 1/4 of the number of novellas. And you are guaranted a higher minimal standard of quality too.
So here's my recommended order for new readers and my personal reread list. It skips books that have glaring contradictions to other books and more problematic or spoilery stuff. 1st. Dawn of the Clans (1-6) Then Moth Flight SE Thunder's Echo Shadowstar's Life Then moving right along to Tallstar's revenge Crookedstar's promise (Skipping Bluestar and Yellowfang SE) The Prophecies Begin(1-6) Firestar's Quest SkyClan's destiny New Prophecy(1-6) SkyClan and the Stranger (optional) Power of Three(1-6) And then Oots #1 Mistystar's Omen Oots #2-6 Dovewing's Silence Ravenpaw's farewell Crowfeather's trial Bramblestar's Storm Hawkwing's journey Tree's Roots AVoS #1-4 Tigerheart's Shadow AVoS #5-6 Squirrelflight's Hope (I hate this one but it's too closely tied to BC I had to add it) The Broken Code #1-4 Graystripe's SE Daisy's Kin The Broken Code #5-6
Thank you so much for this! I knew what order to read the main arcs, but I didn’t know where the Super Editions and Novellas fit in the timeline. You explained things so well, and now I know what to read next. Also, it’s 2023 as I write this, but this is still so so helpful for someone brand new to the series. Thanks again!!
theres a new guide by 4rcane that i found more helpful as it included all the books and their order, but also colour coded how useful or intertesting they are. but this guide is ok too
i mean when i was in 5th grade had a few main ones i remember one was that ultimate guide thing and Fire and Ice and currently in my dresser i got Bluestar's Prophecy, and Into The Wild mostly though i kinda skip forward not a good reader i also read 1 or 2 of the manga ones i think i dont remember which ones thou
This is so helpful. I listen to books a lot at work and wanted something that'll last more than a week but got so lost trying to figure out the web of books this whole thing is. Thank you.
I've read all of the main series and I think it took me about 4 1/2 years since I had to wait for the new books to come out too. I've read I think 3 or 4 manga, all of the guide books, and 4 super editions. Overall I'ver read 41 books. That's actually quite a lot. I never skip books.
@@sienna098. OO Welcome to the fandom!! I would say the last part is mostly accurate but keeping up with that order might be a bit tedious. I agree with some placements with the Novellas and Super Editions, but honestly you can read them just about whenever you want to expand on a character's story. Otherwise, it's pretty good!
@@sienna098. Woahh, you already have all the main series? Awesomee. I would recommend Bluestar's Prophecy, Firestar's Quest, and Yellowfang's Secret. There's plenty more like Spottedleaf's heart and Tallstar's Revenge to give more insight after the 1st arc.
This was the most helpful thing that I've seen all day! Thank you so much for making this video. I choose the spicy path due to the fact that I just want to read all of them because they're amazing books, and that's the order that the books go in
Nope there's six arcs currently and a whole bunch of super editions and novellas and mangas and guides. Plus im like 90% sure they'll do a 7th arc and also very likely an 8th arc.
Thank you so much for this, I have made the mistake of reading all the main story arcs up to Vision of Shadows and then not reading all the super editions and novellas and I *really* needed help. Thank you!
Ok , I used to read through arc 1-4 in one month And Firestars quest was in there! And I did that mutiple times a year ! Now it has been a few years since I read anyghing but the newer books!
One time, to prepare for the french release of the last hope(was bad in english), I read the fourth apprentice and half of Fading Echoes two days before the release date, then all the rest the day afterward. I was still awake at 1am lol.
thank you. now I know what order I should buy them in. I was considering animating the entire thing from scratch but I would need voice actors to work on it so if anyone wants to play a vocal role, email me.
I just realized how old I am because back when I started reading Warriors, A Dangerous Path was newest and I readed it first for some reasona and after that Darkest Hour etc. (I readed Warriors in my first language first and A Dangerous Path was published around 2011/2012)
I read them in chronological order. My bookshelf is in that order. My books start at dawn of the clans, 4 prequel SE and then the main story of Warriors (with the SE’s in there wherever they fit) the only problem I have is I don’t know where in the timeline tigerheart’s shadow happens. I currently don’t own any novellas so when I do get one I wouldn’t know where to put them (also don’t own any manga) I don’t have every main series book so when I re-read the books sometimes there are gaps in the storyline, like about 3 weeks ago when I finished reading a dangerous path and then moved to Midnight (don’t have darkest hour or Firestar’s quest) but I’m poor so that’s fine.
Well when corona hit I had only read the first arc (and the first two books of the 2nd arc which I should probably return because they were from my school library) I read the rest of the books including novellas, super editions, and the rest of it using a app called Libby, I just signed in using my library card(the only downside is that you usually have to wait for the books if someone already checked it out) I hope that helps at all
I started with Into The Wild some months ago, i still need to finish it as I started taking some long breaks, but this guide made everything more simple since I didn't really know how to start reading ALL books-- Can't wait to finish the first serie
Lol i started on the latest series (witch at the time was vision of shadows) i ended up reading that series then backtracking. Now i have read all main series books exept dawn of the clans witch im reading right now and i tied in some side books too
Akira, I thank you for letting me be lazy and pause the video 5 times per second to make a list of everything I need to read, wish me luck and i wish you luck in the future too
To read list: The rise of scourge Tigerstar and sasha (all three) crookedstars promise Tallstars revenge Moth Flights vision Tales of the clans Ravenpaws farewell (2/3 through shadows of the clans rn) Hawkwings journey Squirrelflights hope Legends of the clans Path of a warrior Crowfeather’s trial A shadow in Riverclan The place of no stars A light in the mist A warrior’s spirit A warrior’s choice Winds of change Leopardstars honor Bits and pieces from the field guides ... Think you mean Ravenpaw’s path. Ravenpaw’s farewell’s a whole book on it’s own. Also, my list: Winds of change The place of no stars That new novella collection A light in the mist Leopardstar’s honour All field guides except Code
@@_tkd_6689 ravenpaw’s farewell was a great book. Still one of my personal favourite novella’s written. I do recommend having some tissues nearby though
I just finished the 3rd book. I'm hooked... I feel addicted because I keep ordering more of the series on thrift books and if I don't have the next book I just sit around thinking about them and check every day to see if the next one is almost to my house yet... I finish these books in a matter of days 👁️👄👁️
Thank you for this. I have just picked back up reading these again. They are my favorite books still to this day and I'm excited to learn they are still making more new ones, too. I picked back up one other time four years ago or so and was overwhelmed by how many there were and was unsure the order with super editions and books about before the main first six. This is super helpful for that overwhelm. I don't care how long it takes me to catch up. I only care that I read them in the best order to have the full story in order the best it can be. I am on book five of the first six books, now.
