Improve your game!
This channel is dedicated to all the gold seeking Pickleballers out there who dink responsibly and stay out of the kitchen. We have all levels come through the channel, but we concentrate on the 4.0s, 4.5s and up to 5.5s.
I started this channel quite by accident, I was recording my games to do film study and get better. I did not have time or money for lessons from pro pickleball coach, so I started watching all my screwups. People that I was playing with started to ask if they could watch too and I said sure. That helped all of us a lot to improve our game, strategy, mental toughness, and techniques. Now we have new pickleball videos published several times a week. We occasionally have pro pickleball players on the channel. Mostly its non pro pickleball players on their quest to 5.0 pickleball. We have all levels come through the channel: 4.0 pickleball, 4.5 pickleball and up to 5.5 pickleball with the pros.

Great review, I’ve been playing with the CRBN1 14mm and it’s like you say, the perfect blend. While there are different paddles for different types of players, this paddle, for me, is epic!

Got the Carbon1 14mm and I’m happy to say I still get a lot of control, spin and power. I was using both indoors for 4 hours today and I can only say that maybe the 14mm allows me rip a little faster, could be just psychological. They are both 7.7 ozs. I felt the same control even in the soft game and dink placement. I’m a 3.5 and love CRBN.

I agree i love the 14mm as well, unless i'm purely playing a defensive game then i'm 16mm all the way. 14 i get a little gun slingy and try to go for too much.

The Franklin that Ben used to play with is a 16 mm core paddle not 14.

It's hard to see how one mm (diameter. of a paperclip) would make a noticeable difference in the play of a paddle. It's also hard to see how a person would have multiple versions of the same paddle at $150 plus and with the average life of the paddle being 3-6 months. The texture on a carbon fiber paddle will flatten with a few months of extended use.

Yeah I see the dilemma but it makes a huge difference in play.

I'm a little confused cuz I would think the 16mm would give more topspin not less? I'm prone to overhit and can generate my own power but want the topspin (which is how I play tennis). Would you say the 16 or 14mm?

The 16 is less power less spin for sure. I think the 14 is a great blend for the crbn paddle. Still large sweet spot!!

Are the paddle head heavy or head light?

I'm waiting on this too. Actually, I spoke with Garrett (the owner of CRBN) back in the beginning of September and asked about a 14mm CRBN2. He said it was in testing, and that it should hopefully be out by October/November this year.

Not sure why they didn't make it a 14.5 mm

Probably it's not an option from manufacture.
