Mods have been ordered now as I am dying to have a play with the car... time to see how much fun she can really be ;) Big thanks for the continous support, if you want to help me and the channel out make sure to grab a sticker or some merch!: bwtvshop.bigcartel.com/
Yeah boy you know I'm up for it! Love the way you compared the graphs. The corrado is amazing, I werent even mad when I werent pulling away (I promise) in that clip it was just awesome to see a classic doing BITS! Shows its potential. Top man, top car, until next time 👌👍
My first video watching you! Man I love corrados and yours is soo clean. My dream is to buy a mk1 golf and put a turbo’d vr6 in it! But it’s just hard to find a mk1 here in the United States where I’m at (south Florida). Nice channel mate, cheers!
a Decat derestricts your exhaust therefor making it louder and does increase bhp gains once mapped, can give you like 15bhp over a sports cat so probs more over a stock cat. but certain will open up the exhaust and give it a bit more engine noise
Beautiful car. over 200hp is a very good number for just minor mods. We don't have the 2.9vr6 in the states. it takes a lot more work to get over 200hp on a 2.8vr
The air filter will make it scream! But not just change the filter. Change the plastic intake pipe against metal one with better /even surface too. Cheap mod but good result
@@BWTV yes very cheap but good over here from HG-Motorsports. Have the same Item for 49€ : hg-motorsport.de/produkte/rohre-fahrzeugspezifisch/vag/2.8-2.9-vr6/ansaugrohr/air-intake-rohr-aus-aluminium-fuer-vw-vr6 or from 42dd it´s the same part but it costs more ... 240€ www.urotuning.com/products/42-draft-design-mk3-vr6-upper-intake-tube-in-301-20b?variant=12298178101303 so you see you better go with the hg even if the shipments is a little costy still big saving
The Mk4 platform is plagued with drivetrain binding problems. If you want to go low then you have two choices to not snap axles. You can either get 1” motor mount spacers and notch your frame on the passenger side or go buy raxles which are the Porsche uniball style cv axles and they are also pretty exspensive. The trans and flywheel swap didn’t do a thing for him and he will break down again soon
On the MK2 GTi's the 16v with CAT was 129BHP, The 16v with no CAT was 139BHP. Your engine is twice as big as mine was so I reckon you will get 20BHP max from the Decat. Get your car MOT'd before you decat it, that way you got a whole 12 months.
Beautiful car, I bought a very clean mk1 golf gti last year. Its standard and will most likely be staying that way, I may get a cam in the future but who knows.
Either that dyno is extremely happy or that vr6 motor is far from stock. Those motors on the wheels do about 160 hp or so. Around 105kw stock. Unless there is something I am missing. Lol😂
Take your cats out of the car open them up from the top with disc cutter clear out all of the shit then re weld the cat place back into motor and your disco stu...
James shepherd Last time I checked mate a v engine was called a v because the angle on the stroke not how many heads it has the vr6 although very small it's still a v it's a single head v6 also does that make the w12 engine a v12 as that only has 2 heads not 3
@@BWTV word of warning, I first listened to it in June 2000, June 2020 I'm still listening 😂 always golfs because I could never find the right corrado ( the corrado handles so much better ) although the corrado is one of my all time faves
Lining up the sticker is so hard, when I put mine on it went wonky haha. I have to say though watching you with your corrado has made me want one! How does it feel compared to a R32 golf?
It feels a lot lighter as there's no haldex system but it feels equally as planted, I love that the corrado feels more raw though. I'll have to get back into an R32 as it's been a while!
If you want a louder exhaust you'll have to drop the Milltek, it's the quietest system on the market. When you got that remap done on the golf and I guessed the correct BHP, that graph still didn't look right. While the K03s drops off that remap just didn't look right, I would tell the guy to get it remapped by R-Tech and see what they can do with it.
Yeah it was a very weird map, but it's still running okay and it's a lot of fun 😆 the exhaust that's on it at the moment is actually a magnex exhaust, but it sounds like the same loudness as the milltek was in my golf, too quiet! If the cat by-pass doesn't make much of a difference I'll look into a new setup 👍
Love the car. I think there’s something about N/A cars, smoother power delivery throughout the range, instead of a boost and then dropping off. and better throttle response . Also be interesting to see what difference the air filter makes. Is it a induction kit or just a panel filter? I have a 2.0L NA MK4 that I’m just using for now. But was toying with the idea of putting an induction kit on that. Purely for the noise really. But don’t know if it makes any noticeable difference. I’ve read mixed things about them really
Yeah I know it's something special, it will be a induction kit (come filter with carbon fibre heat shield "CDA BMC filter") I've been told the noise will be crazy 🤙
Although you can't see my face, I always check mirrors before pulling over, the sliproad was long enough for me to make judgment, I understand your concerns but I'm not a dick on the road 👍 cheers for watching
@@BWTV Fair enough, I accept that. Do remember bikes can be hidden by other traffic for several seconds and can be travelling a lot faster. I can tell you're not a dick on the road btw.
I was curious as to the current power of the corrado, especially after all the stuff that used to be on the car... So you have cams and a exhaust set up? Currently am i right?
I guess before video 177hp Well I guessed wrong! That is because the cars in Europe make more power than euro vr6. Air filter will just make noise but no actuall power cause of engine heat. My suggestion is get a can and put it inside the airbox and drill the bottom of the airbox.
@@BWTV okay nice. I have a golf mk3 2.8 vr6 making 215 crank. I have 2.9 intake manifold, lightweight flywheel, 2,5 inch catless exhaust and 262 cams. You should do an exhaust and go catless!
Good honest power from the VR6! I had a mk2 with 2.8 VR6 268 cams and (C2 UK) United motorsport remap back in the day. It was 215bhp at Stealth racing IIRC. I had a decat and Jetex 2.5 exhaust too. Best thing you can do going forward is a 3.68 final drive and alloy flywheel, really makes them pick up well but still will do a decent top speed ;) Dyno vid from 2008 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lOicAPzaecY.html
