If it makes you feel any better, when they ask these questions in Asian countries, almost all of the responders say black. And the comments are filled with white and Asian celebrating. Also it was Asian/Indian men that forced Tinder to remove their race filters.

You got Cambodian, Thai, Laos, Indian, Vietnamese, so many more. People forget about South Asia and it’s so annoying. They also assume that all Asian people have lighter skin complexions - meanwhile I have a Cambodian cousin that has a gorgeous autumn leaf color to her skin.

Theres nothing wrong with stating a preference. The problem comes when people cant even share the preference without hate. Or when it gets treated as a double standard. Where one race can say it and sometimes be mean about it too but God forbid you say your preference is not their race or complexion. Most times it’s not even about the fact that they are that specific race. Sometimes it’s just about the features accompanied by it are just not attractive to the individual. So if a person from that race happens to have attractive features to them, they still have a shot.

It’s not racist to not want to date a specific race. Doesn’t mean you hate them because the colour of their skin or their race. Different races have different morals, different culture, different beliefs and different religions. It’s perfectly fine to make that decision for you yourself! This is wild. One, that everyone answered Asian. (Why??) And two, that they answered at all. Like…who picks their partner based on race and not personality, matching values, etc. I could understand if someone said that there are certain cultures they might be a little hesitant to date, especially if the potential partner participates in cultural values that run counter to one’s own (like misogyny or something), but an entire race? Bizarre. The question was a little leading, though. Instead of is there a race you wouldn’t date, what race wouldn’t you date, which sort of forces an answer even if the person wouldn’t otherwise have one. (The last girl , and the one who said sure whatever seemed to resist that word trap because the idea of the question seemed actually a bit repulsive to them. I’d be weirded out, too, if someone asked me something that assumes I’m so racist I must have at least one race I wouldn’t date that I could name off the top of my head.) The last girl was adorable though. She handled the question well and was real about it. Relatable. Hopefully she finds an awesome partner who shows the same respect to her that she shows to an imaginary boyfriend’s race.
But you do not even have the chance to reject anyone. We are know currently Asian men are at the bottom of the racism chain in the world. I am not saying Asians men are not good looking, but it is what it is right now, and nobody is (even willing to) do anything about it, including Asian men themselves. The problem with this question being asked on camera is that they cannot be truthful. If they said black they’d be perceived as racist, and the fact they say Asian is not even true (I’m white and I know this because a lot of my white friends who are girls date Asian guys) don’t let social media impact your perceptions of others views about you/your race.
