I never knew that the police state actually escalated the conflict during Charlottesville. The state really is terrible

What about the UNC professor of anthropology that told people to block the roads, and telling people to get ready to get hit? He pointed a rifle at james fields prior to him accelerating away towards the crowds of people waiting to get ran over? Theres video of it.

The organizers had tried to cooperate with law enforcement prior to the event in order to prevent violence but the police and the governor WANTED violence to occur

Violent mob attacks young man in his vehicle. Young man panics and proceeds to peel out in fear for his safety. Meanwhile, angry mob proceeds to stand in front of said car as they are emboldened by their sense of moral superiority. The ending was always going to be obvious.

If you watch the full unedited video of the "car ramming people" in slow motion, you'll see 20+ people with clubs and baseball bats chasing and attacking the car, and a rock being thrown into the front window - all before the crash happened. The guy wasn't ramming people, he was fleeing for his life! The local government, which prosecuted him provided him a government appointed lawyer - a direct conflict of interest.

Zero mention that fields was threatened by armed anti-fa before fleeing in the car. Zero mention that the evidence for him impacting the supposed victim with his car is next to none.

I remember decades ago discovering Reason at the newsstand. As a young libertarian influenced by Rand, I was excited that such a magazine existed. Today, Reason content is so influenced by progressive views that’s it’s unreadable and unwatchable. I just keep my head down now and weep for the world.

Important questions not asked in this interview: 1) Which person or group started the violence at Charlottesville? 2) What did the police do to minimize that original, instigating force? 3) Is it true that the driver who killed several protesters was attacked by protesters first and was trying to escape? 4) What was the driver's explanation for his behavior? 5) What happened to the idiot who was wildly brandishing his pistol at the leftist crowd? 6) A California judge recently dropped government charges against violent, right-wing protesters because the government failed to charge violent, left-wing protesters at the same riot. Should that rationale be applied here?

3:15 Who was it who decided the name of the event would be "Unite the Right" instead of the more obvious and less inflammatory "Stop the American Taliban-Defend the Lee Statue"? The right wing doesn't counter protest and brutalize leftists like the left does to the right. Counter protesters need to learn self control and discipline. This entire event could have been avoided.

His points at the end match my memory of the footage... which has been hard to find again. Rebel News or some similar org's footage made it look like Antifa et al greatly outnumbered the Neo-Nazi types, and the simple statue defenders were caught in the middle trying to escape the lunacy. Then the cops seemed to make it all worse by forcing the permitted protesters (Right wingers) out of the park into the street where all the fighting erupted.

"White Nationalism" is a thing that does not make any sense. Having a pasty skin isn't a nationality. Same goes for "Black Nationalism" or whatever. An artificial creation. "Asian Nationalism", or "Latino/South American Nationalism" doesn't even exist in the vocabulary. Nationality, ethnic group and race are all three different things.
