@@FrozenBusChannel I don't think the guy in the video knows what he is saying... He is probably just some sales rep.. It's super hard to determine what he's saying because he misspronounces a lot of words. Directance was pronounced deractence, for example. If I hadn't seen your comment I'd never have figured out what he was saying.. Thanks!
I thought I will never hear English again as it sounded like before I learned to speak it. Reading the subtitles in this video while listening the narration made me feel that sensation again first time in 30 years.
Yeah I know what you mean. I worked support for an internet and TV company for over a year and a half and sometimes it was, put mildly; fucking infuriating... :D
he's reciting a part of the 1944 Students' Quarterly Journal, where they used a bunch of made up techno-babble to describe a fictional turboencabulator
Interestingly, my father was a computer major so I've always had the perspective that parents know _more_ than kids do about technology, just like with everything else, and I only learned later that many parents aren't especially tech savvy. My dad would teach me about how computers work, we would take them apart and he would show me the components, and _I_ would be the one asking _him_ how to connect to the wifi. He even taught me how to code a little bit.
My dad was into computers and stuff like that too. It's probably why I'm good with computers too. Eventually he saw that I had an "addiction" to video games and started to distance himself from me...but he didn't realise that video games were an aspect that inspired me to keep learning about technology and how it all worked. Now I've got my own knowledge of computers and smartphones and technology in general. It's like we diverged onto different paths. His knowledge is more practical and broad, while my knowledge is a little more nuanced. I can't wait to finally show him that I can make it in this world. He's lost a lot of faith in me over the years...but I think, deep down, he knows I'm smart enough to be successful if I just apply myself more. He's always like, "Prove me wrong." I've got an Eminem's "Survival" kind of theme going on when I think about my situation with my father. "I want you to doubt me. I don't want you to believe, 'cause this is something that I must use to succeed." Here's to a better future, right?
Same thing here with my dad, he used to work at Apple. He currently works for Intel, but he’s considering going back to Apple once he finishes school. Though he’s pretty much always been into computers, but I think by now I know a fair bit more than him.
@@neverendinchaos4800 i think you should focus on something that you are likely to make a living on rather than something that most who try fail at. maybe you should follow in your fathers footsteps and have the video game thing as a hobby that might turn into something better
@@swank8508 Man the world's changing. The reason why Technologies in school are just stupid because they will probably be irrelivant by the time you start going for work since new technologies will be developed and that job you aimed might not even be needed anymore. My teacher always says that she is training us for jobs that don't even exist yet because the world is evolving at a rapid pace. So who knows video games might do the work.
My mom came from Mexico and only speaks spanish. Only last year she finally started getting into the internet without being afraid of clicking something incorrectly and the screen closing/opening something. I had the opposite mentality where adults didn't know crap about computers until I got into college and started interacting with friends that were from middle class or higher. I'd see their parents navigating just fine. Funny world.
It depends. But You are right. I hate when fansubber change some text for no reason. Like someone is saying "Onii-san!" and they change it to the name of character. Like, wth. Why? Or being inconsistent. Like translating one things differently than in the english dub version, but other things are translated like they appear in english dub. I am not fluent at japanese, but I can understand words. And even I can see when the subs are weird or doesn't really show the real text. I can get that they can change puns, word jokes or cultural things etc, because sometimes other audiences won't get what's going on. However You can just leave puns as they are and do a adnotation with explaining what's going on. Anyway, I prefer as faithful translation as possible, so I really dislike when people are making subs like that.
Sometimes I try to look for dubbed animes with subtitles but the subtitles are often different from the dub script (which is expected, I guess) so it becomes confusing on what to focus on.
@@bloodandguts5931 OMG. This must be weird. And I know many animes that would be like heaven and earth. For example Dragon Ball, Digimon. Dubbed version changed plot, personality, facts about characters. Not only small things. They made completely new things. Like Goku is made a hero in dub, when he is selfish in sub. Or one character became smartass in Digimon, while he wasn't annoying in original version.
I have taught my 70+ years father well. He even knows how to use Skype. AND he gets waaaay more likes than me. And that makes him so happy. And me too.
This reminds me of a computer system that was controlled by three primary main processing cores cross linked with a redundant melacortz ramistat and fourteen kiloquad interface modules.
Okay but for real I don't believe this man is speaking English for like half his lines. EDIT: I just looked up what an encabulator is and now it all makes sense. The fluxes are parallels to the MODAL capacitors, not the radial capacitors; that's what I was missing
o'rly xD btw he is making perfect sense. If you are not understand how a dingledong connects properly to an aligned crenolator then you are not understand anything. Disclaimer: I had to watch for more than a minute before I realized he was just making up technobabble, a true master of babble.
With most of the routers ive had, you DO NOT want to press the restart button since it clears it completely, you want to unplug it for a while instead.
I have a challenge for you guys. Show this to a "smart person" you know and then attempt to get them to explain what he is saying (without any hints or prompts). If that person can explain what he is saying, in a logical way, then you know that they are FULL OF SHIT.
