Oh please… Africa is the only continent capable of being self-sufficient, we hold 2/3 of the world ressources. We have existed for hundred of thousands of years by ourselves way before these other races even came to existence, we were fine then and we’ll be fine now. We Africans have enough problems at hand like you know, neocolonialism and stuff soooo I’m gonna save my tears and energy for my own people.

Didn’t y’all say Africans would be dying like flys when the pandemic started. Look at us now. We are still here. I think we will be fine.

This is what pisses me off about Africa. We have all we need in the continent yet we make ourselves dependent on the west instead of striving to have an even playing field. We allow the west to dictate to us what we should do with our resources. Not just the west but also China. I have no problem with foreigners coming to do business on the continent but it must be fair. Why are we worried about oil when Nigeria is a huge producer of oil? Majority of Africanleaders need to wake up and stop selling their respective countries to foreigners.

I am a bit disappointed that you are not seeing the bigger picture here. This is a moment for Africa to innovate. The level of consciousness is so great right now on the continent. We have inventors coming up with all manner of inventions right here in Africa. We don't need Cheaper Oil, in the short term it will raise export revenues for the oil producers, In the long term, higher oil prices are bad for the oil industry, because we start looking for other alternatives. The Saudi's know this and that is why they always step in to alleviate the price shocks. This is time for innovation. In 1950 some little known inventor drove a Car from California to Chicago that was powered by water. When he go to Chicago,, he was paid an untold amount of money and that was the last we heard from him. The technology to steer the world away from fossil fuel is already here. The oil companies have simply kept it away from you and me. Let's see how long they can hold back the world, when prices hit $250 per barrel.

Minus the student safety issues, all the other "concerns" are things Africa has more than enough of to rise to the top in international trade. AND to provide for their people. As they should've been doing LONG ago.

These are the same conversations we had prior COVID ,they were like "How is Africa prepared to handle the COVID pandemic"? Who had the last laugh,we are tired of European countries always dragging our names whenever there is an issue facing them. CNN is always good at this, I believe they are being used.

It is very sad to know that we as Africans and Caribbeans are so apt and happy to celebrate the Independence Days of our Countries / Islands not taking the time to realise that our colonisers only gave us political independence (from which they micro manage our politicians) and not Economical autonomy. As such, we have been purposefully distablised by economic hit men, either amongst our own or not of our hue or race. Many of our people are waking up but the recovery from the deep sleep is so traumatic that many rather go with the flow than thinking objectively to team build to make our ancestors alive and proud of us again. Rather than lean on the wisdom and knowledge they impart, though awake, we rest on Jesus or Allah. What a huge setback, our minds are still in chains whilst we heed these foreign entities. We know that we can be the bread basket of the entire world, yet we prefer to eat their unhealthy crumbs. SMH

Africa is an interesting case. The continent has quite a bit of potential. It's a newly industrializing continent and has a lot of resources. However, being a newly industrializing continent comes with its own problems. Most countries as they industrialized had major civil, economical, and political upheaval in the process and over time. Europe, the Americas, and East Asia have already had multiple of these situations before things became stable. The Middle East is just starting this process and is figuring itself out. When the time comes for Africa inevitably some countries will fall and others will become more powerful. I'm interested to see what kind of countries, economics, ideas, identities, and ideologies come out of this.

I don't think this war will cause any major economic pains. There are other suppliers of oil like Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states that can take up the slack, as for wheat there are many growers around the world.
