Thank you for this post. A bar experience in Italy is a must for anyone visiting Italy. I liked it very much, the atmosphere there, especially in the morning before going to work, is great and way better than being in an artificial place like Starbucks.
Italian bars also served great hot chocolate when I was over there. I could also get a fair panino in many of them. Great in the morning. You should do a video about the differences between Bars, Pubs, Pizzerias, Trattorias, Tavola Caldos and Ristorantes. One can see all of them packed in pretty close together in some towns.

Great video! I think it's funny that my friend in Rome loves to hang out in Irish pubs. He has several that he frequents, but his favorite is the Shamrock near the Colosseum.
In Romania, we call them cafe and they operate from about 10 am till late at night. In some, there's the possibility to dance, as they turn into a club at night, with dimmer lights and VERY loud music. most cafes will serve cakes as well, or maybe ice cream. but maybe not at night, especially if they turn into clubs. We also have pubs (much fewer) and they're the type seen in the UK. The only one i've been to has a bakery too, serves cooked food as well, and has live music in the evening. coffees, as well as all sorts of drinks are available in all of the above.

In Australia, what you call a bar, we call a cafe (pronounced café, well unless you're in South Australia, then it's pronounced caff). Anyway, we have pubs, which are similar to yours but sometimes have live music, and also nightclubs (mostly music and dancing, but with a bar (that serves alcohol).
Grazie mille for the vlog, Elisa! A bar in the US is a place to drink alcohol, whether at the bar or at a table. When I’ve seen posts from Rome, of people saying they were going to the bar to get an espresso, it was an odd thought as coffee at a US bar is usually pretty bad tasting. 😁

On topic: I am a retired college teach and still live next door to a small student dorm at one of our "elite" liberal arts colleges. I assure you that every student thinks of his/her room as a bar and/or pub. On the weekends the drinking is not a sport for the faint-hearted. There's plenty of singing and shouting and by 1: 00 am I can see students staggering into the moonlight where there is more singing and shouting. Do you have such rites of passage among Italian students or do they all know how to drink like mature adults?
That's very interesting to see the differences! Here is the UK a "bar" the way you describe it is called "café". When I was living in Northern Italy, a place where you hang out with mates at night can also be referred to as a "bar" if it runs from breakfast till late at night. But mostly, places where you go for a drink are simply called "locale". A "pub" is only called that if it's an actual British pub :)
@@racht.bremen3125 really were the Irish colonised by the British? Thank you for the unsolicited history lesson. You know I love the Irish and have been to Ireland multiple times... But I was referring to what pubs are called in Northern Italy.... pubs are considered mainly normal pubs, Irish pubs normally have Gaelic music sometimes dances as well... basically they are Irish, not British. Irish of EIRE are not British btw and less so English.
@@racht.bremen3125 Bad comment 😂 Scotland and England are in fact closer culturally than Ireland and England. Irish pubs are found throughout England and the rest of the world and are usually family owned, unlike many pubs in the UK.

In sicily you go to the pub at 10pm 22:00 to dance eat or both we had a dj who played some good music until like 4 5 am i was only 11 when i went with my mom
