Sounds like a very interesting profession. I've always wondered about the "Key Grip" etc. when seeing it in the credits of movies but never got around to actually looking it up, finally after all these years I know lol! Very cool.

I was a grip for one movie in 1989, "Glory!". Gave me a real appreciation for the skills that are needed for a good production. I recognize those skills present in "The Chosen ", they make for a great production. ICH

We had a neighbor across the street (also a grip) from the house I grew up in Hollywood that worked on movies like Jaws & countless others. Fascinating industry. Martha's Vineyard was the backdrop for Amity Island.

I have worked as a grip here in Hollywood for many years. I like to say/think that the set lighting dept. (or God) "send the light"... We grips "bend" the light! And LOTS of other stuff, as well... I love it! ;-)

I REALLY hope they get to do a Movie or a series about the O.T chosen ones like about the life of king David - his breakthrus to shortcomings etc. how amazing it will be if the scene in Psalms 17:45-47 be on slow mo!

It looks like Grips have to carry lots of stuff. Anyone know how heavy the equipment is that grips usually move around? I guess every day is different, but are you generally moving around lots of light stuff or do you have to do lots of heavy lifting.....say stuff heavier than 50 pounds?

Hi Dallas, just wondering if you have read Daniel Boyarin's book "The Jewish Gospels" for the belief among the Israelites and Jews regarding the Divinity of the Messiah in the Second Temple Era. Other than OT evidence confirming the trinity of YHWH God, the commentaries and teachings of that era already has for the 200 years preceding the birth of Jesus the Christ and for some 200 years after, an accepted theological Judaic doctrine for the Pluritarian YHWH and Christology of Messiah. This might be interesting back information for the series. That would give a more ready explanation why a senior member of the Sanhedrin like Nicodemus would really fall on his knees before an "unschooled" carpenter. The Bible Study Fellowship Study on the Gospel of John a few of years back also has great background to solidify this related to the signs Jesus performed. According to the rabbinical teachings of that era, the Messiah had to perform 4 confirmatory signs of His Messiahship - of I recall correctly, opening the eyes of the blind, healing a deaf mute, raising a dead man and healing a person lame from birth... All of which Jesus performed a number of times.
