The fact that they made the underwater environment beneath the hydra in Darkroot Basin all dark and smoky actually kind of terrified me. Like how deep would that lake actually be? Are there more Hydras in there??
Probably for debug purposes, to reload faster or not trigger certain events when testing the levels? Or removing collisions altogether to avoid useless processing power.
I see Dark Souls 1 as more of a “Haunted House” sort of game where you’re solving mysteries, and Dark Souls 2 and 3 are some grand adventure. Except when you fight the Hydra. You’re just full on Percy Jackson or Hercules.
@@teamatfort444 Dark Souls is a haunted house with a licence and a land contract that is renewed every few years with perfect legal efficiency. Bloodborne is a haunted house put together by a group of horror enthusiasts who doesn't give a single shit about your poor ol' gram-gram's heart condition and end up with a lawsuit due to stress-induced manslaughter.
Really cool video, here are some others as well: - There's a pit in Quelaag's arena near the stairs, but it can't be accessed without cheats. It leads to nowhere. - Falling in the Demon's Ruins near all the Capras and demon worms will put you in the Centipede Demon's arena. - In the gaping dragon arena, the pit where he crawls from initially doesn't lead to nowhere but it does clip slightly into Blighttown sewers tunnels (the one in 1:20) implying that's where he crawled from. - In the Tomb of Giants, the part where it's illuminated again the pit leads to nowhere - The square pits in Lost Izalith where you need to fight some monsters with Siegmeyer, also leads to nowhere
imagine you could fight the gaping dragon down in the swamp if you went there early, like you could choose the faster route but would have to deal with him. I would love the idea :D
Either Illusory Wall, Zullie, or Crestfallen (can't remember which, their videos blend together for me at this point) did a video on that, and it was shown that it was more likely the pit adjacent (the one darkened and unseen through the grates in the bonfire pipe), as that one more closely lines up with the bottom of his arena and would seemingly make more sense
Wow, so the chest with this one Dragon Scale is just below these scaffoldings we traversed, nice! Also the Ceaseless Discharge drop is just above the first Lost Izalith bonfire
Strange thing : the first big hole of Blightown has no bottom... But when an "Infested barbarian" falls into this hole, his drop (greenlighted) is stopped (we can see it on a "floor")
@@Pantagana Can you please take a look at the body of water to the right of the Cathedral of the Deep’s first bonfire? It’s so dark and mysterious then considering the context of the surrounding area it’s always been something that intrigued me. At certain angles like where you retrieve your first deep gem shapes can be seen in the water although it’s probably nothing more than rocks.
It always seemed to me, that we are kinda in heaven in ds1, cause when you look down from the cliff, you can see clouds below you. But under clouds, you can see cities, forests, and mountains. That means that Lordran is placed on the top of giant arch trees, while other countries are under them.
Me too. It's just such a deep fall, and watching the textures slowly get closer and closer made me quite anxious haha. It's like they were swallowing him whole!
It would be really cool if there was an item that made you invincible for like 20 seconds or something, and there was only 1 in the game that you could use on a boss fight but if you used it to jump into the well in firelink shrine it teleported you to a secret area, I wonder how fast that would be found out in the age of the internet, probably within less than a day lol oof.
@@fashionsuckman4652 actually, trivializing 1 boss and 1 boss only would actually be quite nice I think, it would allow veteran players to not have to deal with a boss they really hate or aren't good at fighting or just don't enjoy fighting, or help you with a boss that is highly resistant to your weapon in a playthrough, for example sorcerer build vs seath, and you could make it very hidden so first time players don't find it often. Edit: Also I just thought about a solution for the pvp, since you could technically just not use it in your playthrough, over many NG+ cycles you could legitimately collect multiple of these, so as to not abuse them in PvP there would be a 10 minute cooldown before you can take another, unless you died/homeward boned etc.
@@VaasMontenegro12 Not nice, a game about challenge allowing you to overcome a challenge for free is not good. No matter how you try to put it. You fighting death with a mage build is something you should have to deal withm every build has strengths and weaknesses, with a sorcery build only being weak against death while being able to destroy everything else
Thanks for showing! I always wondered what down there in many pits I see during my playtroughs But I think you didn't showed many other ruins in New Londo
really interesting video. I wonder if it's possible to go to demon ruins/lost izalith from tombs of the giant, since it's visible from there as you can see in 4:49.
