That's overconfidence for you. He did win that war against the Dragons though. Maybe if he went with a Lightning Spear it would ended up differently. Also, his power is greatly deminished and there's a point to why the fight with him feels like one of the easiest in the game... Pling-pling-plong...
Kalameet, starts bugging in the roof of the Capra Demon arena, so he can't reach it even though we know he could easily beat Capra Pantagana: This is clearly a Draw
The fact that Kalameet was able to kill Centipede Demon on the first go WHILE taking lava damage is insane. Even the other DLC bosses needed lava damage negated to win.
@@championofthedarksoul4200 yeah but even when he was standing in it you'll notice he takes about 1/6th the damage of every other boss . His fire resistance is just insane .
I know it's for reasons of copyright, but Kalameet's music playing in the Ornstein and Smough fight does really give it that air of "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me!"
Also note the difference in ambience and the surrroundings. We fought Kalameet in an open field below a waterfall, while most boss areas are smaller and/or cramped
The fact that Smough not only almost solo'd Kalameet but that his hammer is genuinely big enough to crush the dragon's head underneath it's weight is really a testament to how absolutely massive Smough is, gotdamn
10 seconds in and I'm already laughing: Asylum Demon survives the first breath attack and immediately bonks Kalameet in the head (for a whopping 67 damage)
That just goes to show that anor londo was right in not daring to provoke kalameet's anger. I suppose that's as close to an ancient dragon as we'll get
So Happy that there is still Dark Souls content. All the other big youtubers are very busy with Elden Ring...which is great, really! But Dark Souls...aww man.
Yeah when it started with him getting stagger locked I was going to be really disappointed, but then he started dodging attacks and I was really rooting for him. He's got some good moves, but yeah those early hits really messed him up.
You can probably lore that, old man just isn't cut out to fight dragons anymore, but if he had turned up in Oolacile back in the day he could've easily dealt with Kalameet
@@Brandt_V considering Gwyn probably single handedly killed ancient dragons the size of a mountain, I don't think Kalameet would have stood a chance against him in his prime lol but yeah the ingame version is nothing but a dhadow of his former self, who doesn't even use lightning anymore for some reason...
Kalameet did much better than Manus or Artorias did. It's the range advantage and the enormous defense, while Manus didn't use his magic much. Also, Kalameet killed Ornstein real quick. Winners: none Draws: Capra Demon, Gravelord Nito: arena too small. Interestingly, both are also bosses that have minions in the arena with them.
@@waltuh11121 thanks for this reminder, I couldn't remember exactly and there were a few times it seemed like he was doing more damage than I'd expect. Mostly I forgot that dark in ds1 was just mag+phys. That triple typing actually helped him a lot I think with some of the bosses.
And that is why Gough tell us even the mighty Anor Londo didn't attempt to hunt this dragon btw: it would be more epic to see super Orsntein against kalameet
Funny how the “Mighty Anor Londo didn’t pose a challenge” to Kalameet yet just 2 knights almost kill him Anor Londo also definitely doesn’t have a literal dragon slaying army or anything
Man, dragon slayer Ornstein is just a load of bull. He must have come across a wyvern, slew it and then, just took it back to Lord Gwyn and persuaded him that it was a dragon
Oh, my bad, I just realised my error, when saying wyvern I thought about drakes. Those small blue creatures that are in the valley of Drakes. And, yes, I am correcting myself without anyone intervening because, that's how much free time I have that I sould be spending elsewhere
@@davidnewhart2533 Okay, but Ornstein was alive during the original Dragon War. Those everlasting dragons were the most powerful of all. He should be able to take down one of their descendants. Of course, I know this is all in jest.
played ds1 for the first time like 2 weeks ago, I was shocked to know apparently that boss gives many people a hard time. He was easy. those titanite demons tho….
@@iamMildlyUpsetWithMostOfYouTub that makes sense why Capra was easy lol I just meant someone who’s just started the series would have a hard time But good job on the second one that’s usually the one people bitch ab the most lmfao
@@--COSMIC- well I played ds1 before I got to ds2. I did play elden ring before I got to ds1 tho so maybe that helped. Ds2 isn’t nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be (SCREW those knights at iron keep tho)
It's possible that Kalameet could have died to centipede demon if Centi didn't walk up to him and let the lava do its work, but the "Kalameet camping" strat worked for the black dragon Also Dragon on Dragon violence in dark souls Is great, lock em all in an arena at max NG+ and let em settle it there
Why is it that I for some reason remember Kalameet being the size of a taurus demon when I faught him, but only now do I realize hes heccing huge. To be fare I haven actually played this game in a year because I got all the achievments.
Of all of these that I've watched, Kalameet is the first one to beat O&S, made me so happy LMAO Edit: AND THE FIRST ONE TO BEAT THE CENTIPEDE DEMON WITHOUT THE RING
Did you figure out how to make Battles with more entities? I think the key is to change their Teams. So Enemies have friendly fire on comrades and will actually attack others. I know the system of DS3 and If it is the same here, you can just change on enemy group to the player team and the other will attack them because of it. Would be cool to see some lore related battles.
It is interesting to see that the only real threat to Kalameet are the two dragon slayers, O & S. Though, either one on their own without their buddy power up appear to just be a mild inconvenience.
