really awesome what ur doing showing them the truth good or bad!we truly appreciate taking the time with teaching people that are new to farming to a few of us like to freshening up.
just wanted you guys to know. its really a plesure watching your channel. espesialy like when your kids are in the videos learning farming. i also like your groups positive additudes. think i've watched almost all your vids. glad your brother survived his boating asedent. GOD IS GOOD.
Something those kids need to know about farming...it is NOT an 8-5 job. It is a 24 hr/day job. In my opinion the best farmers are the ones who work everyday of the year (except Sunday if that's your deal) and are always planning, repairing and research. Like the young lady said in your CEO Meeting..."there's a lot more to farming that you would think". I have so much respect for farmers. They must know seed, chemical, fertilizer, fuel, mechanics, irrigation, equipment and REPAIR, equipment operation, banking, yield research, marketing their crop, planting, harvesting, maintaining bin sites and mechanicals, managing rent farms, and many other things I can't think of right now. Oh yes, the infamous FSA paperwork. AND they still have a sense of humor! I very proud of Eli, I bet he will be missed terribly around there. I love seeing everyone on U-Tube and that tractor and planter are awesome!
Isure like your set up you have nice every thing, I like case equipment, and your ford trucks. You folks are very nice to watch working around the farm. I'm retired now, we farmed in southern Alberta Canada, had 320 acres.
Just an idea, about 10 years ago we had a Cat motor doing same thing. Our hand pump (primer) went bad was sucking air. Good luck, if you are not driving the trucks you are fixing them!! NEVER ENDS
We switched from an older John Deere 12 row to a case ih 16 row and we’ve really liked it. You really only need the one monitor for the whole setup and that part is nice. But the pro 700 can be a pain at times, our planter is a 1250 early riser ground drive so it’s quite a bit different than yours.
Whenever I order new equipment, I tell the dealer to send with NO stickers on it. The manufacturers use the best spots for decals. For what I pay the equipment I want to advertise for me....not the manufacturer. Wherever it normally says "Case" or "John Deere" or "Cat"....that's were I put my decals.
Ran vset’s for the past 4 seasons! Pretty much don’t have to worry about seed size anymore and there is very few wear items in them. They look cheap compared to jd’s exact emerge meter but they work very well! We actually traded in our case planters this winter and went back to Deere lol. Case makes a great planter but in our area of western Iowa there is very little dealer support for them. Especially on the AFS side of things.
Kind of scary riding with Boss Man in that 18 wheeler. I'll bet he doesn't drive his Camero as fast as he was driving through that ethanol plant. Where were the students from he was teaching? Wabash Valley College or maybe a high school? His teaching abilities are right up there with him farming abilities.
Great looking tractor and planter. I was surprised you got the row markers with it. I do like the part where your dad is talking about farming with some young people.
Yeah debated on the makers but they do come in handy on the end rows and I think they help the trade in value It’s a class out of the local high school that comes to different local businesses to learn about them. They came a couple years ago as well
@@iversfarms good deal!! Does he introduce himself as the Boss man!!?? Lol On a serious note, it's good to see him sharing his wealth of knowledge. Appreciate u sharing that.
Kinda feels like there could be a cracked line on the blue Pete. Pressure up the tanks and look for weeping lines. Probably not what's going on but worth a shot
Hey, my 2021 Cascadia threw a temper tantrum Friday after they changed the fuel filters, so, it is @ Freightliner in Pacific WA and I am in California in an identical back up truck!!! Moral of this story is, even new ones can have their issues!!! Sounds like air in the fuel system as well!!! Blaine
Great job on your videos. How did your ats trials go on planter ? I started strip tilling last fall so looking at options to put more 32 and micros in the strip
Always great videos. Red or green depends a lot on the dealer. Conceal is great, but You are missing the biggest benefit by not running in-furrow starter with biologicals. Our own experience.
Maybe so, two planters ago we used in furrow pop up and did 3 years worth of test and didn’t think it paid but the biologicals may be the difference. We do treat our beans with biologicals
Great video Reese they just get better awesome news about the shirts can't wait I'm ready and what about those stickers can I buy one of those go green
Will that 380 fit across Canon Ball Run? I remember you saying you went with quads for that reason. Curious if that will squeak over it. And I enjoy your content. You have a great Family Farm there. I'm envious lol
@@iversfarms Wow I didn't realize that was possible, Do you know if it's possible to run it without a precision monitor on a Deere planter with precision planting components?
Regarding the liquid fertilizer - do you use straight N or a starter with some P for the roots development? Still - wow, can't wait to see and hear what you think the Big Red in action.
@@iversfarms - OK, thanks. Liquid fertilizer are becoming more popular among farmers now a days and some have good results with a starter fertilizer containing some NH4-N + P to get the plants started and some root growth. Do you plant corn according to soil temperature or as soon you can go without soil structure damage? Here in Denmark farmers measure temperature and if above 8 degrees Celsius 4"/10 cm down and weather-outlook good;go go go. Perhaps because we are that far north and corn being a C4-plant we have to wait. Regards Peter Krarup, agronomist, Copenhagen Denmark
@@hansi6575 yes they sure are. 2 planters ago we did in furrow fertilizer for 3 years and didn’t think it paid a high enough % of the time with the product we used. Once the insurance date hits (April 1) we go if it’s dry with a decent forecast. We don’t worry about soil temperature but a lot of guys do. We had a couple agronomist tell us we were making a mistake last year for planting early but it ended up that we made the right call
Did the blue Pete have this issue before the accident last fall? Someone mentioned it could be a crack in a line, maybe something got jarred when that happened? I just hope they find a for sure answer, curious minds want to know lol
I had a fuel filter base with a pin hoe in the alum base drove me crazy sometimes it worked perfectly and some times usually o a bridge or downtown it would suck air. Finally started carrying a small 12 volt compressor when it quit I would put pressure in one of the fuel tanks and put a gulf tee in the vent line one the other side open the return line and when it ran out truck would start . saved a lot of time and tow bills.
That place is part of a gravel, rock, misc sales operation, so there's more than just farm trucks hauling grain in. They bring the gravel in on barges. It's the same as you'll find leaving a lot of rock quarries that are near or in or close to a town or city, water tire wash to keep dust and dirt from getting on the city folks nice clean cars :)
I will take red any day of the week that green equipment is just way over priced for what you get I been running red equipment since the day I took over our operation in 1986 and before that red is what my folks had now over the years we looked at green but could never justify the extra cost.
@@iversfarms yea not many around central IL run red. The guys that do say they have much more power but they also have a bit more things go wrong and parts are a much longer wait.
