Mexican here, you have to put the tortillas out to dry for a good 2 hrs before like individually out to air dry then you fry later- also we hold it down w a spatula

Yay! A cooking video! Sometimes you just get stuck in a "food rut" and need new recipe inspiration. The monster cookies, rice krispie pinwheels, and even the pasta salad would be great to pack for school lunches. I will definitely be trying those for my kiddos! Thanks for the inspo!

Mennonites and food bring back a lot of memories - meals in St. Jacob's, Ontario, the market in Kitchener, Ontario, and the lovely Mennonite ladies that came to the large Signatures Christmas Craft Show in downtown Toronto, with their huge assortment of Christmas cookies that we could pick and mix! My most poignant memory involves my dad. 35 years ago he was diagnosed with cancer in Feb and passed away in Aug. For my birthday in March, he gave me a lovely large Mennonite cookbook, and wrote in it. It's here in Brittany, France with me, and I used it a lot when my son was young! All your recipes here look delicious!

Try using the wire whip attachment instead of the flat blade paddle to mash your potatoes. I was getting some lumpy mashed potatoes too, when I used that flat blade. My friend told me to switch to the wire whip and now they get great. 😊
You are blessed to be given the Roborock as a promotion! And I’m sure your mom was so excited to try hers out as well! A little pricey for my family right now, but our house is only 780sq ft, so I’ll be okay with a broom, mop, and vacuum for now 😅

my mom just started growing basil and it grows like CRAZY. i now know what to do with the freezer bags of basil in my fridge now haha edit: also wanted to say that tortillas bubble up bc of the moisture. i would suggest lowering the heat and flipping the tortillas until they're browned to what you like. it also helps to use less oil!
Flour tortillas have fat/oil in them and they puff when heated. For fun place oven safe cereal bowls upside down on a cookie sheet and lay a tortilla over the bowl and bake 350 till very brown. Fill with taco fixins. The kids can eat the filling and break off pieces to dip in the center. I use soft taco size tortillas

Sometimes we have to remember even tho we have probably done and seen these tasks 1000s of times but this is their first time seeing or doing something. Love seeing the kids learning and enjoying participating in the tasks. ❤

They are great for so many things-bread of course, but also tomatoes, those rice krispy treats, etc. I love Wusthof brand but it’s best to try them out and see which size/weight works best for you. Thank you! The food looks delicious! I can't wait to try some of these recipes! The tortillas puff up because the heat makes the air in them expand. If you make any flat bread from scratch, that's how you know it's cooked. It's nothing to worry about but you can press it down with your spatula if you want.

It has been a really hot summer here in PA and I'm hibernating like it's snowing. 😂😂😂 For the pinwheel krispie bars, maybe line the pan with parchment and use that to help roll the log. Just a thought. You could add your crema and some parm to your corn to make it street corn-ish. Keep cool!
Tortillas will bubble up like that if the heat is too high. If you'd like to, instead wrap them in foil and warm them up in the oven for a few minutes instead, unless you were going for a fried feel.
Have family favourite chocolate chip oatmeal recipe everyone enjoys but next time will add the teaspoon of ground expresso. The pasta salad with dill pickles needs to be made !

I laughed when i saw your ninja i was like i have the same one haha. had ir for 10 years to haha ever since my daughter was born it die on me but my dad fix the cable. i saw you doing pesto and it inspire me to go get some basil from the garden and make my own. now i only have to figure what to do with the piles of tomatoes. my plants have gone wild i did not expect that lol since i never had grew anything lol

Whenever you make anything with avocado... Place the seed back in once made and pudding seal it (when you place the saran wrap touching the dip/salsa/guacamole, I think pudding seal isn't a real term...lol) Your recipe will last longer with less or no discoloration. I started following you when you only had two beautiful children... Life has been busy for both of us as I am now catching up and you have two more angels added to your family... Blessings... xoxo

Please rethink using Aldi as your main staples. A lot of their products are changing now. They are using a lot of bio engineered food products in their food and it didn’t used to be this way. Even their organic broth now has oil and flour in it, which has nothing to do with making broth. I know you can’t keep up with everything because it’s insane, but those are things that i find important, so I always pass it along in case someone else does too.

LOL, how do you get off that swing? My stepmom makes the best pesto, she also grows basil in the garden. We will make pizza with pesto sauce. So good. My stepmom was going to give me the rest from last year. I'm going over on Saturday, maybe she still will? I learned how to cook in 2010 when I moved in here. My friend taught me how to read a recipe, it helped so much. And my blind friend (he passed with type 1 diabetes), he taught me how to read the back of like a mac and cheese box because I had to find the temperature.
