WHAT'S GOING ON AT BLAZER BOATS??? (NOT GOOD!) 

Literally just picked up my 4th Blazer 650 and couldn’t be more excited! The quality and new additions would not disappoint anyone! Marshalls/Co Angler have always commented about how beautiful the boats look but always are amazed on the quality of the ride! If there was an issue with a boat I am confident Blazer would handle it like the professionals they are. I am confident and proud in my new Blazer 650 Pro Tour!

I’m on my second 625 Blazer. I’ve been extremely happy with the brand and individuals I’ve worked with thus far. Every one of my officials/marshalls are always impressed with the ride and speed of these boats. I’ve literally only called the factory once lately for a question and it was handled immediately.

Ive been with Blazer for 6 years now. I love the boat!! Great looking boat that’s quick as hell and rides great. Every company out there has had an issue or two with employees and quality. Especially lately. Michael and those guys there have been great to work with and there are still a lot of the same people in that plant. Heck even Keith is still there quite a bit. I don’t think a couple disgruntled customers should describe how great of a boat Blazer really is.

I always wanted a Blazer and was always hearing how great their customer service WAS and finally in 2021 I was able to afford the boat that I wanted, picked up a 2021 650, love it! I had some little issues with it and tried to get Blazer to help me figure them out and was basically told to pound sand. This will be my first and LAST Blazer!

Someone needs to get a hold of the Legend molds and bring them back!

That family feel is still there with Blazer. We've had a partnership with Blazer through our tournament series in Florida since 2015. Keith was great to work with, but Michael and the rest of the Blazer crew have been great to work with as well during that transition. I was lucky enough to be a part of their employee picnic last year. To walk around with and see some of the crew with their children, point to one of the boats, and say "Look at that son, I built that," is something you don't see every day in other brands anymore. That same feel is what Ranger had when Forrest still owned the brand. I know they've invested a lot into various production aspects as well. I'd recommend anyone to take a look at Blazer if they're in the market for a new boat.

As always, great video! I have an 87 Ranger that I bought new, I'm the original owner. It has been a great boat, as fast as I need and great on the rough lakes up north(Great Lakes). I moved down south and was looking for a new boat due to the water I now must navigate. Well, if I don't get a Gator Trax, I'm keeping this old Ranger. Again, it's as fast as I need, tough as a pissed-off pitbull...and paid off. I can't afford a 70-100k boat that won't last a year in these waterways. Thanks for all you do.

I've had my 625 since new in 2012 (you helped me out last year with a trim motor to get me back on the water). I've been trying to get a new cover and new seats from them but they tell me to go elsewhere and do not want to help a longtime customer of 12 years. It's a complete shame and that's why I'm looking at a 2023 Falcon f20. Nothing is wrong with my blazer but if they do not want to help their customers then I do not need their brand any longer.

Last fall I drove to FL to take a factory tour at Blazer because they were on my list of possible choices for a new boat. The guy that took me through the plant was a top guy there (I will not mention his name). What surprised me is that he knew very very little about there bass boats when I asked technical questions. At one point he actually said “we are a saltwater water bay boat company trying to get into bass boats so most of us here don’t know much about them”. Also the fit and finish of the boats there was really bad. I seen several where the pins would meet the gel on the top cap the tape lines were very irregular and uneven. When I questioned it, he said that all boats are like that when gel meets flake. Said it was impossible to get straight lines. It was so bad that my wife said when leaving that the bass trackers at bass pro seemed put together better. Needless to say I have since bought a Phoenix. I really hate it because I have always liked the look of Blazer. I just could not see giving them 90k of my hard earned money when most of the people there knew very little about the product that they were producing.

My 2004 Bullet still looks brand new. Fit and finish is flawless. Reading about all these issues with new boats makes me want to keep mine that much more.

Man I don’t know about all that. I know all of those people down there pretty well and they take pride it their boats! I’m going down to pick up my new one this coming Wednesday and it’ll be my 6th one since 2018 and I absolutely love those boats! Never had any issues before! They’re smooth riding, fast and they fish very well.

Called a Blazer dealer after numerous attempts of making direct contact with Blazer. Had a lengthy discussion with the office manager, telling her exactly what I was looking for (about 100k worth) and she promised me a callback within the day. That was 7 weeks ago! I’m from the west coast and was willing to travel to buy a Blazer 650 Pro Tour. I guess they don’t really need to sell a boat to me! Along with Falcon, they have been scratched off of my list. I’ll stick with my WRM Ranger 520L

The 100k+ price is going to be the death of a bunch of bassboat manufacturers.. paying 100k+ for a bassboat just isn't an option for the average fisherman.

Good friend of mine had one in 2021.He liked the boat a lot but had bubbles like a delaminate or something under the boat ( boat never touched anything ) He was told not gonna be an issue . He now is in a skeeter . Misses the blazer speed but had to many issues from day one .

When you start hearing that many complaints, you know some bad stuff is happening. I agree with you Andy. If I'm going to spend upwards of 100K on a boat, I want to be able to call the office and talk to someone that can understand my issues. Someone like Rick Pierce at Bass Cat. Keep the news coming .

Have a 19 625 pro elite. Absolutely love it!!

I have a 2021 625. Had it on the water less than 6 months and sent it back for hull cracks and wiring harness failures.

I have a 2018 Ranger and it was built right before the change. Love the boat. If I’m ever in the market it’s going to be a used Phoenix or BassCat. Phoenix is very popular around the Kansas City area and I’ve never heard a bad thing about fishing in them.

Man I’m glad for the show because I was looking at the Blazer boat my son and I are attending a show next weekend to see on but after this BS I’m no longer interested I’m tired of spending a arm and leg and your not putting out better quality products and I’m pretty sure the customer service sucks as well thanks again

Steve has the last gambler at Blazer right now apparently and the guys are fixing the glass and carpet in it for him. He got delivery of the gambler in pieces, unfinished!! That’s an interesting mix up !!

Ranger just picked up a new pro. Cliff Crochet just left Blazer for Ranger.

I ran a 2006 Blazer 202 with a 225 optimax for years. Never had any issues with the hull or getting in touch with people at Blazer. Only in the last few years you are seeing pros r run Blazer. When the pros get involved the prices go up! More people fishing and paying for boats over a hundred grand. I would guess some quality control issues are being looked over? I Fish Toledo bend exclusively now and was going to buy a new boat but prices and interest are insane. Bought a 2018 Legend V20 updated everything and know it was custom built best boat I ever owned!

My personal experience was nothing short of horrific. 4 months late on expected delivery in 2022. Boat hull and transom spider cracking withing 3 months. Warranty was horrendous and speculative that I was running in 10' waves. The boats are bare bones nice little boats. I loved it. Should be a 60-70k boat very champion type quality- acceptable and affordable. They fought me and my dealer on fixing the hull for 2 months and made me drag it around for 2nd opinions. They took the boat back in February and sent it back in October of 2023. It was gone for 8 months. I recieved no compensation for downtime or anything. My dealer worked with me and got me in a Caymas in June. The boat was very fast 595 with a 225. Fit and finish was medium/medium poor. Wiring was poor. Definitely not a 65k boat. I hope the factory burns to the floor. In my mind they stole $10,000 from me. Nothing like losing that much money on a boat.

Allison is still family owned and you hear zero quality issues with them. Allison is slow keeping up with industry trends though.

Always put out info that I/we like. Some’s good … some’s not. But it’s always truthful from you. That’s why I watch. All the best to you & yours. As for Blazer … when dealers cancel you, something’s not right. Ranger owner since 2001. On 2nd Ranger.

I have to comment on this. I was the first National Pro back in 2017 Blazer ever had. I worked very close with Keith and Lonnie to make major changes, bigger consoles to accommodate the new electronics, lighting, trim, deck size, etc.. That was the 625 and after having 6 of them and now running the 650, its still a fantastic boat. Now, since I have fished on pro circuits since the late 80's coast to coast and retiring last year from the Bassmaster Elites, Blazer has the least amounts of National Pro's of all the bigger names. Ranger had hundreds, Skeeter same, Champion back in the day, hundreds, so I am not sure what you're talking about too many pro's. All of the bigger brands are now a Nitro, they are no longer individual brands. My friends new $110k Ranger is more like a Nitro than I would have ever imagined while Blazer is still a Blazer. Yes, there have been changes, not all for the better but I am referring to the office not the plant. As for the plant, I have personally known most of employees since 2017. As with any boat business, labor is not easy to find and even harder to keep but as long as the key people stay, that's what keep the quality going. The only difference I have seen between my 2017 and my 2022 is the quality is better and so are the options. Not sure why anyone is wasting their time on this as there are always problems with every brand from boats to planes and everything in between. If you want to ride or see my two year old Blazer that has seen the Great Lakes down to Florida, reach out. I would love to show you its still looks brand new.

I would say the family atmosphere is alive and well down there. This fall, I had the opportunity to visit the factory and attend the company picnic where I sat down to eat with the people who build those boats every day. The pride they have in their job and the product they put out shows in all the faces of everyone I have ever interacted with at Blazer.

I hate to hear this about Blazer, hopefully it’s just due to the change over of management and everything gets fixed. They definitely have one of the best looking boats being built. Lots of labor issues I imagine. My new Phoenix looks like a 13 year old built it. 3 months later stuff still breaking, not working properly. The dealer in Az told me “That’s just how boats are now”. Meaning all.

My 625 2023 has been flawless. One small thing with a latch not closing which I easily fixed. Now with Chris gone idk that I would buy another despite it being a great handling boat. 625 does need to be brought up to modern times though. The tackle box compartment in front of the big box is a joke in terms of how it works. Only fits regular Plano 3700 which I own 0 of.

Hate to hear that about Blazer. Been seeing a lot more 625's and 650's running around down here in Texas not to mention their bay boats.

That is why I bought a 2016 with new power. Every new boat I went and looked at was pour quality.

Sounds like someone with ties to an investment firm bought the company. Generally they come in, let go of a bunch of people, cut every corner possible to maximize profits, bleed as much money as they can before the reputation is ruined, then liquidate for what's left in profit.

I have a 1996 Blazer I fish out of in tournaments and it still does a good job. In my opinion there one best boats out there

I was being a gentleman but since it hasn't worked we will out the situation. Delaminating, voids in the hull, cracks in the hull and not honoring their warranty - I own a 2023 625 bought brand new and its been on their lot since March. I have put my hands on 2 625s that had the same cracking due to the manufacturer errors and Dylan their sales rep told me about 2 others. For some reason my comment got deleted? Andy should know way more about what's going on as he has seen the emails between me and the owner. So be sure to look under your Blazer around the seats as you may have cracking within the gel coat or worse due to a lack of filler or much worse like mine - the hull has cracked. The owner stated they had a surveyor look at it and I HAVE REQUESTED that report 4 times along with photos - with no success. FYI I am an adjuster and would have filed a claim in an instant had I hit anything. People in the industry saw the photos including their employees which said the same thing - It's on BLAZER. So I am likely going to have to use the LEMON law to proceed. The only reason I ever considered Blazer was this show, I should have stuck with Gator Trax..... The workers there are great but obviously the new leadership sucks.

I have a 2022 Blazer Bay and its really not that great of a boat. There are so many things wrong from new, like the two rod boxes don't hold rods over 6', I mean really. There are no interior lights, except for two low down near tr he floor. They acted like they cared at first and the bailed on trying to make things right. The holes in the softop over the center console didnt even line up with the rod holders. The fit and finish is cheap. At 2 years old the stainless hinges are rusting. I won't buy another Blazer no matter what happens or what changes they make.

The more I hear about this it kinda makes me think there is a chance we could get back to amazing boat that are affordable. Most of these companies are being purchased by private equity so if the og boat builders come together and make a few great hulls and price them less then the rich guys they’ll get customers and bring the market back down. We honestly should have never allowed people who don’t know how to hold a spinning reel but boat and lure companies!!!!

IDK, seems better to find out for sure before throwing accusations around. There are people that depend on that factory for their livelihood.

Boats simply cost way too much. All of these brands have similar issues w quality etc (that have been going on for years) however the pricing on these boats has gone up exponentially in the last 5+ yrs..take away the electronics and outboards; What tech (fiberglass/ construction) makes these boats better than say a 2015-2018 (throw in any brand)? Only thing I can point at is the increase in power wiring diameter.. Id really like to know your thoughts on this..thanks

I was at the Springfield boat and looked at a Black and orange 650 and I have to say it was one of the worst looking boats I have ever seen. No luster in the clear coat just dull. Black and very little sparkle in the clear coat looked like almost no clear coat at all.

Been saving for 2 years to try and buy one. Now i guess the dream will change. Maybe il just re power

I’m not sure about the quality of blazer now. But back in the early 2000’s them Things would fall apart and didn’t last. They looked good and were fast but a 3 year old boat looked like it was 20 years old.

Not that familiar with Blazer, but the new owners did hire “Van” who was the production manger at Legend boats. If Van has his way he will build a quality boat. THAT BEING SAID the boat building industry is in turmoil. In 2021 there were 1.4 million hulls sold. In 2023 only 268,0000! Imagine your business being off 85%!

I have a question that is not related to Blazer boats. The question or more thought is with the new style of floor coverings offered today, Carpets, Sea Deck and others are you see more rods broken due to the firmness of sea deck? My thoughts are some of the carpets are thick and forgiving where the foam gets more solid when compressed. Just one of my crazy thoughts.

Bad gel, and very noisy hull while fishing. Waves slap underneath louder than any boat ive ever been in. Wiring is shit, and honestly not impressed with the 650 speed or ride either

Boats, outboard, electronics are all overrated and overpriced, mom and pop boat companies have come and gone and it's going to continue. Four major boat brands are the more likely here to stay. You know the four.
