I agree with Tidecraft. I had one in the early 80’s, and I can’t say enough bad things about it. No words to describe how bad it was. I had an issue that had me take it to the factory to fix. They did it under warranty, but I was shocked at how terrible the factory was. Zero quality control. I said adios to the Tidecraft not long after. But I totally disagree with your take on ProCraft. I have had two, and I really liked them both. When set up properly they are a hell of a boat. I went from ProCraft to Skeeter, and I wished I had my ProCraft back. The Skeeter was fine, but the ProCraft was better. Earlier ProCrafts might not have been great, but the later ones certainly were. I’m still pissed at Johnny Morris for shutting them and Champion down.
Andy I like this version of covering pretty much everything. Your honest in your face answers remind me of me. No BS take it or leave it. Jeff Miller of Millers Marine in Ocala had the business for over 40 years. He sponsored several bass professionals & serviced & sold all kinds of boats including saltwater. He sold his business to another company that owns 3-4 others. I asked him when he was gonna quit working? “When somebody writes me a big fat check”. I guess that occurred. Your day will come. Jeff & his family ran this business right. That’s why they were so successful. I see that in you.
I have an Evinrude E-Tec 150 2012. Had to replace the stator after 400h. Had the engine rebuilt after 500h due to a blown piston (piston 1). Now at 700h it blew another piston (piston 6). So far I've had repair costs of more than 6000USD, I'm done fixing it. Gonna replace it with a new Yamaha 150 VMAX SHO.
I call Tohatsu the Honda civic or Toyota Camry of the boating world. Dependable, affordable, quiet, and economic. I had a 60 and it was great, just upgraded to a 140. So quiet idling is the best part. You don’t have to yell when sitting at blast off for a tournament.
Dropped my boat off at Mutiny Marine today to get the 140 repowered on my 1989 Sea Nymph GLS195 today. They asked me why I chose the motor I did. Well my answer was Andy from Team Marine. They had no clue. Thank you Andy for all the information you provide us.
I love your video's. I have two Epoch 105 ah and the NOCO charger will not turn the heaters on below freezing temp. I've been kicking on around getting this battery for a starting battery and house. What's your thoughts on using this on a 2021 Suzuki 9.9 EFI? I know the battery meets Mercury requirements, but Suzuki says not to use it.
I wanna know but don’t wanna know. How about a 115 shootout. I repowered my 94 nitro 170dc with a 24 pro xs 115 ct love it. All this talk about mercury being garbage makes a guy nervous. Are the 115s garbage?!?
One of the guys here was fishing a BFL on okeechobee I think in 2015 and he had a g2 on the back of his ranger and he was running in some rough water but his motor did the steering issue and flung his partner outta of the boat and that guy ended up drowning they found the boat and the other guy later that night with the steering fluid leaked out and the steering thing completely blown
I have a 175 on a 22’ bay boat and i have the wrong prop. My RPM goes to 7k. I obviously never run it that hard, the one I have now is a 3x16x21.5 any clue which I need? My goal is top end speed
I heard you say awhile back. That the public has become the R & D for these companies. I’ve thought about that a lot and man you hit the nail on the head. I see this in cars, boat motors, etc. At least for me that’s what I see.
I probably dont speak for all cause Im cheap seats a little but why do you have all those awesome looking shirts in black ?? like I say i dont speak for all but ever try fishing for 8 hours in 93 degrees rocking a black shirt it doesnt work like I will not wear a black shirt from may till October. So just my thoughts see you in a month I hope not before😁
I looked at the online tour. It looks like they said. Simple and efficient. To me it appeared to be a cross between Ranger and Gambler with the back looking more Ranger. as far as ascetics are concerned its true to their word simple and clean. Frankly not many unneeded creature comforts but extremely efficient. These days in America they're adding all this fancy crap to load up the price, heated seats, all that wiring, lights all over the place, Dash board controls, stuff that's cheap for the manufacture and easy for the angler to claim its a better boat. To me a better boat is one that won't catch fire in the parking lot or have stress cracks after a year. Dedicated Bass Fishermen use their boats hard and some of the boat builders should make them like they're going to be abused A LOT! This boat seems to be easy to keep clean, to stow gear and in the video of it running on full pad I saw Zero Chine walk. Quick Andy become Vortex dealer!
Dang I thought you Midwest guys worked on snowmobiles or 4wheelers in the fall to winter. Now being from the south Florida it sounds great. Around 06-10 it was tough. Just out of school in 03 for marine Mechanics. 99 percent of the marine jobs in central Florida required 3-5 year I/O experience. Now to lithium I thought most of it came from China 🇨🇳?
hey andy i thought you said your dad was a drinker before in another vid. you don't drink now so what happened to you ? are you the milkman's son ? lol
Good show, love the Q/A, maybe this will work for next time. How good would Legend bass boats be if they still made them, and how would it effect the other companies
Andy, as always, Love your content. I would love to see more river testing. Love those videos. If you are buying an aluminum boat today.... What are you buying out of these three? Lund, Alumacraft and G3. What outboard is going on the back?
Come on guys You have got to know that all of the lithium marine batteries are made in China. It doesn't. Matter what brand they are all from China.Look it up.
Is CATL is China making all of the battery cells or are LG and Samsung out of SK making them? The issue is when the cells are made in the unregulated sketchy factories.
You know why the new Motorguide is better than the others? Because it's still cable driven. The others look better, but they are all garbage when those electronics fail you're dead in the water. Know what happens when the electronics fail on the new Motorguide? You lose spot lock and keep on fishing like it's a regular old trolling motor. Ask me how I know. I went from an UItrex (garbage) to a Ghost (garbage) to a MG Tour Pro. I'll stick with the Tour Pro.
