Yep, totally agree. I can't stand shows that limp on long after they should have ended, and I also like shows that complete a story arc in each season. There's only a few shows from the last decade or so that I'd recommend without any reservations and BB is one of them. I wish Dexter was one of them, but it got increasingly improbable as time went on and it seemed like every second person was a super clever and successful serial killer. But it did at least play the tension well, even as it grew more absurd. And I actually _did_ like the ending. I thought the last season was one of the best and the finale didn't disappoint. That said, I stopped watching sometime during the second series, and I only recently watched the last 5 series online, practically back to back. I may not have stuck it out if I were waiting on each show / series.
I didn't like how Dexter ended either, but I can't imagine a better way to have it end. I liked when he was with the blonde lady, more than anyone else and that storyline was great... until the end of it.
I LOVE Breaking Bad though. I agree you never know what's going to happen. Friends is like one of those shows that goes episode by episode. Buffy is more of a progressive show I thought, but it wasn't on my list of likes.
Hi Linus. I'm surprised you mentioned Buffy. It's a well written show (in my opinion), all of the main characters have great progression, and the overall story has a satisfying conclusion. The first couple of seasons are certainly weaker, but still fun, and I definitely recommend watching the whole series.
