What's in an ED? - Everybody Loves Reigen (Mob Psycho 100) 

Reigen has got to be one of the most interesting mentor figures I have seen in anything in quite some time.

There's also one more thing about this ED. You can see Reigen is a smoker but in the show he never smoke in the work place because Mob was there(he used to do so before he met Mob). Such a good man.

Can't forget, the way Mob is shown growing up at the end implies that the ED isn't just showing one morning, but most if not all of Reigen's mornings. Each day starts the same, reluctance to get up, the morning routine that helps him to feel ready for the day. And every morning he sees Mob, gradually changing and maturing, adding life to his otherwise repetitive life.

Fun fact: All the glass painting in the show was done by Miyo Sato, who BONES hired pretty much directly out of college.

It always confused me that people thought Reigen was a total scumbag when he is more of a guiding force for Mob than his own parents

You should have mentioned the part where the artist of the ED went around asking women at BONES the sexiest way to light a cigarette. Yeah, really.

Reigen is the most human person I ever saw in anime. He is exploiting Mobs powers and is lying to keep his buisness running, what is something you shouldn't blame him for (trickery kinda belongs to buisness he is working in). And in exchange he helps Mob at his darkest hours, shwoing how much he really cares for him. Mob was searching for advice on his powers and Reigen gave him basic common rules to live by telling him over and over that his powers do not make him special or divide him from the rest. He might be a fraud, but I can't imagine any master of supernatural powers being a better teacher to someone like Mob.

You can say that Mob brings color to Reigen's life.

Forget Re:Zero, Mob Psycho 100 was my anime of the season.

The ED is also a reference to Reigen's arc. The end with Mob growing is the climax of the arc. Plus also note, Reigen is grown man with no other friends.

I don't think that people really understand the good Reigen does for his clients. While there were a couple that needed an actual psychic, which Reigen provided via Mob, most weren't actually dealing with evil spirits. If Reigen was a real psychic, he would probably have turned them away, telling them there was no ghost. But these people were already skeptical of psychics in the first place, why would they trust one as shady as Reigen? So, they would still be scared about the possibility of a ghost haunting and hurting them. When Reigen gives massages or photoshops pictures, he's giving peace of mind to people while also helping with mundane things such as fixing a picture or relieving tension from clients. Yes, Reigen is a fraud, yes, he is kind of exploiting Mob, but he is doing good. He does fix people's problems, so he isn't stealing their money either.

One of my favorite things about this show is the relationship between Mob and Reigen. It's such a deeply fascinating and touching bond between the two that I haven't seen anywhere else. The last two episodes helped solidify how much Mob looks up to him and Reigen being a genuine role model and caretaker despite some of his inner motives. I'll admit, when you were describing how much Mob means to Reigen, I started to choke up. Mob Psycho is such a brilliant story and the anime does it absolute justice in retelling it. I very much hope that there is a season two because this show easily earned its spot as my favorite show this year.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Reigen is one of my favorite manga/anime characters of all time and this ed perfectly shows off why.

I loved this anime, at first I thought that it like a one punch man ....but I was sooo wrong at the end, I really cried at the end of ep11/begging of 12 , mob is a sweet boy and is so nice to see him making friends, I loved how the bodybuilding club really appreciate mob and respect him for wanting to change, and see the goodness in the delinquent guy (I can't remember his name sorry) , I want to see more in the future :)

I suppose I wouldn't know much about body language and animation, but I appreciate the ED's fluid flow of Reigen's laid back strut and Mob's semi-awkward and stiff walk. Especially the depth it seemed to have conveyed. Makes me envious of the talent, yet glad that it was done so well.

I feel like this ED represents what Reigen said in the last episode, about how we are all just commoners going about our day, and that having psychic powers doesn't mean you are above anyone else. It shows how he has a normal life, and when he meets up with Mob he wants to continue on with him, as if he is trying to guide him into a normal lifestyle in order to avoid Mob ending up like the members of Claw.

This ending really impressed me since the first episode it aired. The only other ending I've never skipped was Kekkai Sensen's ending (because it was fun to watch) I don't think I've ever seen an ending made with so much effort before in any other anime.

And yet, YOI got best ED 2016. Such an injustice. :(

The ED is amazing and beautiful and I guess makes more sense to Manga readers, mostly due to the fact Mob thinks of Reigen as a second father/parent not just a teacher/mentor and Reigen accepts this position while still maintaining his professional persona towards Mob.

The way i thought of the end of this ED was that mob literally gave colour to reigens world.

I think it’s also sweet that only Mob and Reigen are actually animated at the end of the ED, as the world around Reigen ceases to be of interest as he finally meets up with his student (and honestly, his best friend) for the day. While Mob lights up and puts the color into his world, he and Mob are the only lively elements from that moment on and are the only things that really matter. It’s honestly a shockingly intimate and sweet look into Reigen’s character, who we usually only see the way he wants us to, as a slick con man.

the ED is entirely by Miyo Sato, who also did the rest of the oil on glass stuff in the show.

Reigen doesn't even rip off his clients most of the times. He ends up giving the world's best massages as therapy for his paranoid clients that ends up as a win-win scenario for everyone.

Holy shit, that animation is so amazing.

i dont really ever watch ED's but ill always remember the first time i watched this. it was right after i thought reigen died, so seeing this ED literally almost made me cry.

My thoughts on Mob Psycho? Well, simply put, it consumes me. Let's just compare it with my experience with OPM. I first knew OPM as a manga and I found it AWESOME, but never was I tempted to read through the original because the art was just unbearable. With Mob Psycho 100, after finished watching ep 8 right after it was released, I sat there, in front of my screen, feeling lost on what to do and, the next day, decided I couldn't wait anymore and go straight to the manga, FALLING IN LOVE entirely with the story and character and the little nuances on how each of these characters aren't just ridiculously angsty from the little omakes at the end of chapters (Shou's dream 4-koma still haunts me to this day). And now I can spend hours scrolling through my various social accounts in search of more MP100 fandom updates. So yeah, consumed.

this show definitely is in my top for this year. The first time I saw that ending I thought ot was pretty neat, but then the final few episodes just made it a whole lot better and more meaningful!

Mob is the reason why Reigen has a purpose in life. The ED is so carefully thought out. I appreciate the intricate effort put into this artwork. It’s magical 🖼 I love the bond between Mob and Reigen as a whole! This made me love Reigen even more minus the frauds he got himself into

Reigen is one of the best characters in anime/manga I've ever seen.

Its honestly a shame so many people skipped such a great show...

While I think the world of OPM man is more interesting, I think Mob Psycho 100 has a tighter and more engaging narrative. Still not sure what set of characters I like more, but I think Mob is slightly more interesting lead than Saitama.

This anime really needs a season 3

Can we just talk about how great of a character Reigen is and how he needs to be in the show more in the next season.

Reigen has taught some of the best life lessons like the knife lesson, run away lesson. The words that reigen told when he first met mob changed the view for mob towards the world .

So this is my personal "idea" of the op. I'm guessing that the Op of mob psycho represents the inside of mob and all of his expressions that he wants to release and let all out but can't and with the video you made for the Ed you hit the nail right on the head with the ed being about reigen.

The stiff & smooth walk thing you talked about is so accurate. Man, it just made me appreciate the anime even more. The detailing in animation can tell a lot about a character. And in this instance, just by showing how they walk, it describes Reigen & Mob as who they are as characters.

Man... That ending is really strong. Just like the rest of the show.

Two Words: Reigen Arc Also, when Reigen goes to water the plant, we don't actually see him getting another cup, so we can infer that he poured the rest of his glass of water that was meant for him into the plant. This expresses the fact that when he goes to nurture others, specifically Mob, he forgets about his own well being at times, which comes back around to bite him in the manga.

As an artist, I have to say, this is THE example of excellence, and I'm floored. I couldn't do anything that complex, because I know that I'd likely get bored trying to keep up the pace.

The animation of this ED blows me away every time

Makes sense to spend a lot of your budget on the ED, after all, it's one of the things that are consistent throughtout the season.

Mob Psycho 100 best anime of 2016 so far

I liked the OP, but god damn was it hard to listen to the engrish lyrics.

I absolutely aDORE this ending, and I'm not one to be that observant but even I felt such a strong understanding of Reigen's character when watching it. It just felt so human with the small details, and told so so much without any narrative. The whole thing is just really wonderful, and my feelings towards it sums up my feelings towards the entire show!

Maybe I'm third, maybe I'm not. Either way I'm excited for the video.

Mob Psycho was one of the only good anime to come out this season. (If you know of any more, please correct me.... I need to fuel my addiction)

People who think Reigen is just a con artist who's using Mob should really see this analysis. Spoilers aside, anyone who even gives the characters a second look will see how much Mob means to him. Mob's parents are assholes, they 1. failed to give Mob the tender loving care he needed (imagine just how bad someone's parents are if they come to a total stranger for guidance) 2. didn't realize how much torment Ritsu was going through as a result of having no powers, and getting hurt when Mob went 'psycho' (the parents never realized once that Ritsu was only studying and trying to excel because he was scared he couldn't do anything else) and 3. kept comparing their children, which hurt both Mob and Ritsu. If all Reigen wanted was money, he could have convinced Mob that in the name of 'practicing and honing his powers', he could do things like lift dumbbells and perform magic tricks for a money offering crowd at his office. Hell, he could have influenced the young, naive Mob into plans of world domination, or made him his servant so Reigen could have a luxurious life. Reigen hasn't done any of that. In fact, the first thing he did was to make sure that Mob would never try to use his own powers if it meant hurting someone else. I have to admit that Reigen was much braver than I thought in the 7th base facility. Reigen is good at telling what people are like, so he should have instantly known that he was in a really dangerous situation. He could have easily told Mob to unleash his power, take his friends and brother, and bolt. Yet he forbid Mob from fighting, despite knowing the risk (if Mob had transferred his power too late, that sword slash would have killed Reigen almost instantly.) Reigen just wants to get by, as a normal commoner. He's content with his (not such a scam) exorcism service (which by the way is the cheapest service available in the city. Seeing as it's pretty unlikely that there are other legitimate exorcism facilities around (since espers have better things to do that sell their powers to banish weird spirits - only Mob would do that), all the other companies are fake. Reigen could raise the price more, knowing that the fake services wouldn't work and they'd come to see him eventually; but he didn't.) All this doesn't really change the fact that Reigen is sweet talking people into paying a little more than they probably should. But he's never going to look at profits over someone else's life. C'mon guys.

Bit sad you didn't mention that this ED was all animated by a single woman--Miyo Sato. She's really talented! She also mentioned that when working on it, she asked other female production members what the "sexiest" way of lighting a cigarettet was for them so that she could use it for Reigen.

I'm a bit confused. Are you aware that the majority of the ED animations were done by rotoscoping footage? Its still a very impressive ED nonetheless, I'm just curious.

in the manga, it goes into even more about how much reigen cares about mob and needs him, not just for his job, but to stay sane, in the manga mob leaves the work after getting into an argument w/ reigen and then soon reigen thinking about quiting because, mob was basically the only reason that made him keep being a fake psychic.
