I really like the grey for the lennon sweater. From far away it will look grey, but once you get closer, you see the unexpected detail of the colours. Also, if it's going to the playground, the grey will show less dirt ;) Another thought, the brighter version would be lovely for spring, but may not feel right in the fall?

I'm all for the grey. I also looks a lot like the biches et buches le petit lambswool candy which is absolutely gorgeous.

I like the grey a bit more than the white. I have the makeittweed too and im combining it with grey drops lima for a chestnut sweater!

Hi Mel. I really ie the grey for your “last winter knit”

Hi Mel, I would go with the gray Brushed Alpaca. The color doesn't look flat because the tweed breaks up the color again and again and thus brings dynamism to the swatch itself.

I saw the Make it Tweed yarn at my LYS and initially thought it was way too busy just seeing it alone, but now I have to pick some up and knit it with gray yarn for the Champagne cardigan! It looks like a great way to have champagne on a beer budget.

Grey all the way for the Lennon. The white is pretty but gives off a softer more feminine feel than is suited to that design imo.

I think the white mohair adds some depth to the fabric. But they are both good! 😃

I really like the swatch with the white. Which is interesting considering I usually go with gray. Both look nice, but the white somehow seems brighter to me. Even the little tweedy bits look brighter.

I vote for the grey. The white looks light and not for that pattern. It’s pretty, but the grey fits the pattern Bette r.

Can’t wait to see your cognac sweater! 🤩 I was a bit surprised to see a spring/summer knitting video already in my feed but your rationale makes so much sense…I usually finish my summer knits in late august/september due to poor project planning when it’s already starting to get too cold to wear them

What a beautiful projects to make for the warm weather. I think it is a great and most practical idea to start knitting your projects before the season arrives, and I actually came up with the similar schedule. However part of my knitting is celebrating the season I am currently experiencing and (I live in Alberta) our summers are sweet and usually very hot. Which means that August and early September can have the highest summer temperatures, following a quick dip into a colder season, and “sweater weather”. I can’t imagine having even a fingering wool or mohair on my needles during high temperatures outside. I guess I had accepted this struggle and part of my summer projects are waiting for me to enjoy them in the next season. Knitting my garments is becoming a “very, very slow fashion movement” lol. As for the swatches, the grey on grey with the tweed resonates more with me for the spring jacket project you have in mind. The alpaca, although it is also grey, but still adds dimension to the colour and tweed makes it more fun and eye catching. The white mohair adds a bit of the “ Snow White” effect.

If Vancouver had really hot summers I'd probably wouldn't want to knit with wool or mohair either! I totally get what you're saying. Last year I was wearing knits on knits to try to get more wears in of my summer knits in the Fall. Thanks for your thoughts on the tweed swatches.

This totally motivates me to think about my spring/summer knits! Thanks for all the great ideas! I hope youre able to get through your list! And also, maybe just see what colour you're more likely to wear for the Lenon Sweater. And then also just consider the use of where you would be wearing it. I definitely lean towards the grey because you can see the stitches better. Maybe do a bigger swatch? Might help you make your decision.

If you are looking for camisoles, check out the Staple Linen Top by Joji. I've knit it twice. The first one I used 1.5 skeins for a small, the second one I only used 1.25 skeins to knit the small but my gauge was tighter and I ended up with an xs. The other one I've knit and love (although I have to put elastic in the i-cord straps) is the Anou Tanktop by Isabel Van Elsen. It has gorgeous lace sides. Then there's always Jesse Maed's Outline Tank but it's a looser fit.

Could you stripe the colors for the linen sweater? Or use the white combo for the cuffs and trim?

Your Paul sweater looks great! My personal choice for the Lenon would be the cream touch me mohair. I want a very similar combo for a longer oversized cardigan but couldn't get the make it tweed for a long time. I have had it for a while now but still haven't decided what other yarns to use. Definitely light grey/cream marl and mohair and needs to be light so probably with one strand unspun plus something...

Thanks! I get what you're saying about something light. I was trying to use what's in my stash but I also don't want to limit myself if I don't have too. What do you think about something like Drops Air with the make it tweed? Or Camarose snefnug?

What is the Paul sweater? Not finding it on Ravelry and RU-vid translation leaves much to be desired. Your knitting is beautiful and you choose patterns that always flatter you. I really enjoy your videos.

@@stringthingsbymel that is my current idea. The lightest grey Drops Air with one strand of natural white Hillesvag unspun plus a white mohair and the make it tweed. I have all of it but haven't swatched yet. I rarely knit with a single strand of yarn but 4... But i want a large gauge and imagine it looking great. If I manage to swatch I'll send you a pic!

I think I would keep the tweed strand for another project cause I find the two colours don’t really give themselves justice …
