The weather has been so lovely!! I didn't know you lived in Michigan! We have a lot of family here as my step mum is from here so we visit a lot. I really like it here!
I hope you enjoy your trip to Michigan! There are a lot of very pretty places in the state. I live a few minutes from the border in Ohio. Those extra pencil inserts are so handy! Such a great bag (that I may need even though I have so many little pouches already... haha). My next travel destination is VidCon LA in just under 2 weeks.
Hey!! We use the same art bag! That’s awesome! You cram a lot into yours! Omg. I actually use the same journal as well, but the 4x6 version. And I have a little meeden 12 watercolor tin, but I can get 20 half pans in it. I don’t used my Velcro add ins, but I do keep some skin tone kuretake brush pens in the built in one. And most of my sketching pencils and fine liners on the other side. In the very bottom I have a pouch with some cut down arches watercolor sheets. About 5x7 size. And in the front pockets I keep my pental waterbrushes pens, paper towels, ruler, washi, 2 erasers, tiny sticky notes, a mini spray bottle, and a shimmer brush pen. And it all zips up nicely! I really love this bag!
I am going back to England in a couple of weeks, I've never travelled with my sketchbook before. I'm going to bring my small sketchbook and my slightly larger one, a black biro, red and bf mechanical pencils, my micron 01 fine liner and maybe a brush pen
I know this is a SUPER late comment. But I was recently looking at this pencil case but I couldn't decide on it because I couldn't really see if it would work for my supplies. So from a year and a half later, thank you! This video helped me decide that I needed this case!
My next big trip will be to the Dominican Republic in January. My go to travel case which I love is the Derwent carry all case. It's similar to yours where you can add more pencil carriers, but the straps are bigger so you can hold markers, pens and pencils. I got mine from Amazon.
I know this is an old video but a great one-I’m obsessed with travel art kits! 🎨 LOVE your case, I’m definitely going to check it out. 👍 If you’re interested, I also did a video on my ‘portable, on-the-go, and main art kits’ sharing my best tips. Btw: love your channel! 😊
I like that you showed your travel kit, I am not so well organized and am a poor location painter, I would rather take a picture to work from. I really just work to slowly! (I also spent 30 years as a professional photographer) You talk about Daniel Smith paint, have you ever tried Mijello Mission Gold watercolor paint?. Yes it is more expensive, What do you think? Worth it?
My mum really likes the mission gold! I've tried them a bit but haven't worked with them enough to know if they're really worth it but they do seem really lovely!!
I have a size Medium Delfonics Utility pouch and that is my favorite travel art supply bag. I keep it in my backpack but if I add a strap to it I can wear it cross body and even put my water supply in one of the pockets while I am painting. I love it.
I always take my pencils and sketch book and rubber and sharper, that's all I take xxx I need that travel bag tho!! ❤️ I'm off to Poland to watch Ed sheeran in two months and can not wait!!!! ❤️ ❤️ Hope you have a great trip!!! ❤️ ❤️
I use a organized brush bag I got years ago and a larger version of the bag within a bag you use for my markers, pens, pencils, and miscellaneous other art supplies and I’m going to Pittsburgh pretty soon for a convention
I have a mini Pokemon backpack that's from Spencer's. I fill it with mechanical pencils, red Prismacolor eraser pencil, sketchbook, watercolor brushes, one waterbrush, a watercolor pan pallete, Pigma micron pens in 01 03 & 05, my phone, my charger, and my headphones. I also occasionally carry my pencil pouch (similar to yours) full of Prismacolor Premier Soft Core Pencils. I go on Cruises, road trips and all. I'm a traveler! I'm fourteen, and started taking art seriously, two years ago.
I also like to watch art travelbag/supplies videos. I'm going to Marocco this summer. I'm probally going to take my travel aquarellset, and a fineliner 01, 03 and 05 or 08 and ofcourse the Pentel pocketbrush
One really good case I like is the Dr Ions case I’ve been seeing around. They have three different size. Love your case and little kit! I would love to see a video of you out and about using it😊
I don't usually travel but this summer I'm going to long island over the summer so I wanna take some stuff to create art, BUT since there are a ton of planed activities I can't take any watercolors or paints. Plus we're meeting with more family so I'm kinda embarrassed to sketch there cause I think I'm the only art-sy one. 😶
Hmmmm. Makes me consider adding glue to my travel supplies.... I recently added a small pair of scissors to my purse (which is 2/3 art supplies) obviously it’s a]car nor air travel for me... I’d have to take out the scissors if I was flying somewhere. Interesting video love the bag from amazon. I may get one but for now just dollar store pencil cases are what I’m using inside my purse. Plus I have a backpack and a carry-on case I use when bringing more over for the day. I do travel with a lot of supplies when I can! Great video thanks!
Now i have an idea what im bringing to texas when i visit my cousins for Christmas! Its a long road trip (Michigan to texas) and i got thinking the water brushes would be perfect for the car thank you sm!!!
The next place I'm traveling to, like in 3 or 4 hours, to my Nanny's and hour and a half away lol. Aka to the country side of my state lol, her neighbor has a horse which is fun
I’m traveling to St. Augustine, Florida the last week of June. I hope that my children & hubby will let me have some alone artist time. If not I will take video and pictures that I can use later when I return home. 😊
If anyone is intrested i normally take: 1 sharpner, about 2 different rubbers,2 pencils,1 pen,1 fineliner,1 purple marker,a ruler, some bandages, highlighter, gluetack and some like other stuff because i dont have a huge pencil case for traveling.
Oh my goodnesssssssss!!!! I love you and have watched your vids for a long time! But ur in Michigan which is where I live!!! You should totally do a meet-up. You probably don’t have time with your busy life, so don’t stress it. But have fun with your family!!! Btw great vid as usual!
Thanks for sharing this! I really need to learn what to bring with me when I travel. Haha maybe I should start by buying travel specific items. I keep trying to bring my full sizes lol.
Question tho, for travelling do you usually bring paper with you? If yes, where do you keep it? Is it like the normal size (9x12)? Because I get worried when I bring my watercolor paper with me, they always mess up in my bag for some reason. I hope you see this and reply. I love you and your vids XD
I could not remember the name of my new pencil sharpener when I made my last post, but found it on jerrys art it is: Acurit dial a point and on super special for $1.99 I love that it closes and does not spill my shavings I paid full price at 5 bucks still worth it!
your in Michigan! Home state here lol, hope you enjoy it here! it be so cool to run into you lol, but yeah. So i really want to go to England one day but i am to busy most of the time to do trips and stuff. OH where is your favorite place to go to in MI?
My husband and I are taking our daughter to British Columbia to meet my family next month :3 I haven't figured out which art supplies I'm bringing yet.
for cool travel bags, check out mochithings. theyre a bit expensive but very high quality, super cute, most of their collections are waterproof and include a paded laptop pocket. I got my back pack from there and it was definitely worth it to protect my art sketchbook and laptop from weather.
Got to speak up for all us photographers and other assorted techies out here, who are all still cringing 😖 from watching putting SD unprotected into soon to be dusty and dirty art bag. Please think about it... Any item that will be inserted into your camera, computer or other electronic geer, will also be putting any dirt on it inside your delicate and expensive electronics! 😱 YIKES! Troubles ahead! Lol So put any memory cards or USBs inside plastic holders. (It’s part of any good SYA strategy) 😂
