I play FoW and earlier this year started playingO Group, Bolt Action and Chain of Command using BF 15mm figures. I use standard FOW basing for O Group and just had to add a few stands. For Bolt Action and Chain of Command I just use tanks, guns and surport weapons feom my FoW armies, but for infantry I just based spare or aquired additional fugures on UK 1p's and leaders on 2p coins. Doing all the systems in 15mm is great as just one scale of terrain is required. But now I have loads of options of which system I play :)
I do love starter sets. This one is pretty good. I wish they’d put some of their flat cardboard terrain and not included the shreks because they weren’t in Stalingrad. But this is a great starter set and i really like how they break down how to assemble your teams..
Forgotton Weapons is an excellent background source. Note the difderances in fire rates on the MG 34 [ select fire of a sorts] and the MG 42. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GfJkU4Sah8I.html. Ian on some weapons includes take down and maintance. The Chieftain's hatch is another good source for tanks.
1st, love the background music. Awesome choice. 2nd. BA in 15mm would be, could be, a lot of fun especially in settings like Stalingrad or with heaps of armor. Need more knife action on the RU-vids. lol
Wow!! Newbie wargamer here. Also planning to use BA rules with FOW minis. Any advice with that? What did you have to tweak in terms of rules? Are you using scenarios fron the Bolt Action Stalingrad Campaign book?
The plan for now is work out a way to do a hybrid where we can use individual bases for each soldier when playing BA and still be able to use them for mass combat rules like FoW. -Jon
