Every time I watch one of these videos I think, "That sounds like a great place to live!" They all probably are, in their own ways. But I've gotta make a shorter list of places to visit! My list is starting to look like Santa's.
@MexicoRelocationGuide
@MexicoRelocationGuide 8 месяцев назад
Haha. I can relate. You just have to start with 2-3 places and stick to them as your starting points. Ideally close geographically so you can visit them all in a few weeks

Hi Marianna and Patrick, great choice moving to Atlixco. I'm currently living in Atlixco. I've been here since November,and I'll be here til the end of April. I live in Canada and like Patrick I hate the winters. I'm living on the outskirts near Fracsionamiento El Cristo. I'm enjoing my stay so far. I'm here alone, have made good friends. Lots of challenges but thats part of the adventrue. Sometimes a pain, but you deal. Its a big adjustment living in mexico. But i think its worth it. Best of luck to you Patrick. See you around town😅

Hola! I currently live in Nova Scotia Canada and run a micro regenerative organic farm (trained as a psychiatrist and still kept a few patients online) and would very much to live in Atlixco. I'm learning Spanish. Do you know if it's easy to get organic produce and meat around there? I don't care if they are certified, I just want glyphosate and other synthetic pesticide free food, before I could grow them that is. :) Thanks!@@angelstar7656

Hi Patrick....I have an amazon canada account and it's easy to use it for amazon mx. Just add your mexico address, make it the default and then in your account change the country to mexico. It will use your standard credit card and billing. No problem.

Atlixco is the best. My wife and I will be there before the end of April. Best town in the world in my opinion. Maybe we can form a little group if there isn't one already. My brother is a musician as well. We're planning to host a small concert in early December. Let's talk.

Great content and video! Love watching these videos. God willing, initially, I am hoping/planning to live in Mexico 3-6 months out of the year. Leave the states during the winter months and visit/live in different locations throughout Mexico before deciding on a permanent location. These types of videos are inspiring. Thank you for providing such useful information.

Patrick....... This is TerriLee. You and I have talked before. I've lived in Atlixco for eleven years now. I used my US credit card and my US PayPal card all the time to purchase things from Amazon. I even have a US Amazon account and a Mexican account and I use the same cards for both. I don't know why you're having problems.

Interested in the quality of the produce esp. since Patrick said he is vegan. Are there organics at the market? I know this varies a lot in MX/CAm and would love to hear what you are finding. Also, what are the reasons to not just use Wise for any fund needs?
@MexicoRelocationGuide
@MexicoRelocationGuide 28 дней назад
wise works great. for some reason it didn’t work for him. orgánic produce isn’t as widely available as in other parts of the world- however Mexican farmers use far less pesticides for the fruits and vegetables in Mexico

We didn't know this when we first got to Mexico but found out from someone here and that is what we do now when we order from Amazon Mexico, or marcado libre you can pay for your orders from marcado libre at oxxo as well. Hope this is helpful for you.oxxo charges a small fee but it's not much.hopefull Patrick will see this.

I left MN after 37 years. To Tennessee and then Puerto Rico. Both were too hot. Been in Guatemala City for 3 years of lovely weather, but I am looking at Puebla and Atlixco for my next move in August. Similar nice wather, but more going on and a slightly better infrastructure, and better food.

@davidsebastianelli1326
@davidsebastianelli1326 8 месяцев назад
Hola Mariana and Patrick! As always another great interview! Hey @fun6381...You might enjoy living in Ensenada, Baja. The fishing everywhere around here is fantastic and it's one of the few beach cities in Mexico with a comfortable year round climate so you can spend your days outdoors. Because you don't need to run your a/c all day and night like most beach areas your electric bill wouldn't be up into the hundreds per month but more around $8 to $20 max per month and there are virtually no bugs or mosquitos! It has a nice malecon by the harbor that can get busy when the cruise ships come in. It's a fun place to go for the people watching, free concerts and an inexpensive lunch or dinner along with some bars and entertainment. It also has the world famous Mercado Negro fish market where you can take your fresh fish you picked up to be cooked to order for you in one of the numerous little restaurants. There are great food stands all over including the world famous La Guerrerense that Anthony Bourdain called the best in the world. It's about two miles from where live so I go there regularly and it never disappoints. It's not really a tourist town or as touristy as most beach areas in Mexico are but you can always visit Rosarito Beach to the north that is a well known tourist town. You may want to go or take your significant other on the Ruta del Vino to the Guadalupe wine country of Mexico that's a little under 30 miles away. That can be a nice place to visit for the day or a weekend and spend some money at the over 200 wineries and restaurants headed by world famous chefs. BTW- Download the Weather app with cities you are interested in to regularly see what the weather is like there. Break out your Google map app and check out all of the areas you are considering relocating to along with the shops and restaurant reviews and get a peek at how much better your quality of life could be.... Buena suerte y feliz ano nuevo!

I am asthmatic, so there are some cities I try to avoid. When I go to CDMX I stay a couple of days home(my wife fam), to acclimate. I went to CDMX Santa Fe, and I felt the same way as Patrick. Someone told me that the area is about 6,000+ above see level. They told me that at that elevation some people lose continence and drop!
@MexicoRelocationGuide

It's always a good idea to take a day or two to acclimate- take it easy don't do too much walking, eat carbs, etc.
