Recently a viewer asked me what it was like to live in a mobile home park in my tiny house and if I ever felt unsafe.
This week I share my experience of living in a mobile home park and discuss how welcoming and safe it has been.
I would love to hear from you. Would you ever consider living in a mobile home park? Are you planning on going tiny? Are there any topics that you want me to discuss? Leave your questions and comments below.

Oh noooo....not THOSE stairs!!😄 YYC has gotten rid of a couple mobile parks over the recent years, glad to see you're in one of the remaining ones. Agree, neighbours can be great or jerks any place you live!!

Hi, just getting to watching this wonderful episode, thank you. The part on driving through was great, gives a real feel for the place. I need to drive around some parks to change my perception, you’ve been given me hope. I think you should make movies, your filming and the way you present the content is awesome.

So true, there is no difference like moving into a new, established neighbourhood. Small town culture is great of which we're losing them in the city. Keep it UP. You've an UPSCALE lifestyle. I'm getting jealous haha!! You vids will definitely make my transition a lot smoother!! Thanks again! - James from Ontario!

I get alot of notifications on your videos lately and watch them all. I find you and and your channel more interesting, inspiring, and useful more so than anything on TV or RU-vid. Your just a ray of sunshine that's rare in today's world. Just watched "off with shed" look forward to your new location...

Another great video! Really glad I stumbled across your channel! I guess what I wonder about re: mobile home parks is not really about safety, but whether socially I would fit in as a 53 y.o. retired professional. People need common interests to spur social connections. For example, one of my close relatives owns a park model vacation home in a seasonal mobile park community in south central Ontario. They get along with all of the neighbours and have made lots of friends. But honesty when I go to visit, their neighbours are all heavy drinkers and smokers, not at all my cup of tea (literally), and none share my interests. While they are kind and lovely people as I have come to know them through visiting my relatives, if I lived there, I wouldn't enjoy them as friends. My relatives have talked to me about how their own drinking and smoking habits have increased dramatically since buying there; while they are concerned about this, they are also resigned to how it is socially awkward to not participate. Might be the location and make- up of this particular park, however it makes me question how I might fend in searching for a place to park my tiny house. (You can really tell I'm Canadian by my spelling!)

Hi Cate. While my neighbours are nice I don’t actually socialize with them. I have the same friends and my kids are really the only ones I see regularly these days. Yay 🇨🇦🙏🏼.

I'm looking to buy in a 55+ mobile home in the U.S. but prices are about tripled in the past 2 years. Everything is out of my price range or an old dump. The all age parks here have poor reputations.

What a great spot! I've always wondered what your community looks like. I live close by, on the river, and this neighborhood is so friendly and eclectic. I've also never felt unsafe. The new shopping area is going to be fun! I aspire to build a tiny house; you're living my dream, girl! I've spent the past three years decluttering, downsizing and minimizing and could probably fit into a small home now, if not for all my outdoor mountain gear and equipment. I love that you have a shed under the gooseneck for your bike and other large things. That's a definite must-have. Thanks for sharing your home, neighbor! Cheers!

@@myBIGtinyhouselife That's exactly what I thought, too! It's a bit of a game-changer, that shed of yours! Watching your Tiny House Tour gave me so much optimism that I could actually fit myself into a tiny house, even though I'm a Rockies girl, thru and thru, and all the stuff that comes with that!

I'll bet that you end up staying in this park for a number of years - and, yes I know your original plans had this as a more short term experience before moving on. Almost universally I have found that people who move in to well managed mobile parks become quite comfortable there. You are correct in referring to your mobile community as being like its own small town with some residents who are genuine characters (like Tony) - but with hearts of gold and caring for their neighbors.

Say what you want about mobile homes, but they are well tight-knit communities. Everyone knows each other, and help each other when they are in need.

Why the ambulance? I lived in a regular trailer in two different parks. My grip is lot rent and having the neighbors 'too' close. I like space. I want to look out any window and see woods and landscape but know neighbors are close by.

Careful, if your neighborhood surroundings raise the park's land value, they'll be tempted to sell.
