What's new at Evernote? 💙 June 2024

Great work! Been a user since 2008. Never seen value and utility added at this pace.

Please add the option to disable tasks and calendar altogether. Miss the Evernote focused on notes only!

Love the speed and frequency of improvements and how you listen to the community often. With the voice feature it takes a long time to launch so I use it less. But generally a useful feature.

I don't like being forced to click the bell for the red notification icon to go away. 👉🛎 Thank you for you tenderness on this sensitive issue.

Great improvements. One suggestion is to make Events and Tasks dragable on Calendar views. It would be awesome to be able to drag a task that's overdue to another day and time.

Exciting to see the continuing enhancements - good work! Please prioritize enabling sort of all columns in the Notes list view as previously seen in the Legacy version. There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of us struggling with painful workarounds waiting for you to restore this functionality. Thanks

focus on PDFs, editing PDFs within Evernote (the current one doesn't work, it's just the zoom that breaks), provide support for opening and saving PDFs in other apps directly from the Evernote app as it was before on mobile, and editing PDFs in cell phone too.

For me, the voice-to-text functionality is a game changer! It works really well, also in my native Dutch language.

I have used Evernote since 2010... I am a senior, senior :-) and use it mostly for grocery lists and "to-do" lists and reminders for things I need in the garden or house... but I realize I probably utilize .01% of the Evernote capabilities... I am going to try to learn a new thing weekly... even old dogs need some new tricks :-) Thank you for such a fabulous tool!!!

Great update! I use evernote for over 10 years. One thing I'm always missing is the search behaviour: ✅When I search for something, it finds the notes where the search term is included ✅And when I open a note of that search result, it highlights the search term ❌BUT: The note always starts at the top, so I have to manually scroll through the note to find the search term myself It would be really cool if the note auto scrolls to the found search term! 🙏 Bonus: It gives me a way to jump to each found search term in the note.

Voice-to-text is useful, so that's good. But the ability to view reminders by reminder date (on mobile) was a crucial feature that has been removed. I'd be more interested to know what's happening in that regard, and whether the feature will be restored.

I was so worried for a while that Evernote, as we knew it, was gone for good, so I am ecstatic that you guys are back in a big way. Keep up the great work!

Love the Voice To Text feature... the quality of transcription wrt to spelling and even punctuation, is VERY good! I have a couple of suggestions to make this enhancement even better... 1) In settings, allow us to choose to have Evernote auto-transcribe the recordings without having to click on the Transcribe button. I transcribe 100% of my dictation entries, so this would be one less action I have to take to get to the text. 2) Include a Pause button right beside the Record button. When doing voice dictation, I often stop talking briefly to collect my thoughts, which helps to keep me from rambling. Having a pause feature would tighten everything up, if you know what I mean. Plus, there are those times when you might get interrupted by something or someone, and I for one, would appreciate having a Pause button in those cases.

Thanks for update. For the last several month I experience a very slow Mac app performance. I also see numerous complains (on Reddit) about poor performance of desktop apps both on Mac and Win. Are you planning to address this issue?

I would absolutely love if you were able to have the navigation section completely free from the notes section. So I understand it makes sense to have the navigation bar (home, notes, etc + list of notes in notebook) attached to the note you're actively viewing. But if we could have a setting where you had the navigation bar and the notebook you're currently looking at as its own window, then double click the note you want to use and have it's own window. I already use this feature and have multiple single notes on my desktop while using but I feel the UI and UX would be a lot smoother if we could have an option to separate the navigation side from that first note. This may be quite hard to visual from my explanation but I hope it makes sense. Love the new features you're consistently adding btw!

Great work, guys. In your dark days, I moved to Obsidian, but the search there was not as good as Evernote. So I'm back, and I'm loving all the new work you have done. Is there a way to hide the task and calendar functionality? I mainly use notebooks.

Great updates, I use Shortcuts a fair bit and didn't like it 3 clicks away on my phone. Now it is on my homepage. And pinning notes allows the creation of a Map of Contents Page at last.

Thanks for all the work that you do. I wish you can also improve a bit about iPad OS experience. I am an iPad only person but love Evernote. If you can have drag and drop feature on iPad in moving notes to notebooks, that would be a killer.

I welcome the addition and development of new features in Evernote. While I need the latest features, personally, I find the current Evernote increasingly inconvenient to use. It runs slowly and frequent updates make it quite inconvenient to use. I believe that the essence of a note-taking app is to quickly organize my thoughts, but nowadays, it seems that launching the app takes a backseat due to constant updates. Although I pay for Evernote, it seems to be lacking in functionality compared to the free Notes app on the iPhone. Instead of adding new, messy features that introduce bugs, I wish it would revert to the stable version from 3-4 years ago.

brilliant A TIP If it had a start at top feature to add text to a long note ,since when adding more text the scroll wheel is used to go down So the work is fluid, otherwise it is an excellent app

Please make the Table of Contents feature auto-refreshing! I love the idea of a ToC, but every time I add new sections to a note I have to delete and recreate the ToC which is inefficient.

Great updates for Evernote, the note-taking tool that I've relied on for over 10 years. Although I've experimented with switching to Notion or other tools, something keeps drawing me back to Evernote. I believe it's the combination of its simplicity and robust search capabilities that make it indispensable for managing my notes.

Evernote is steadily improving. I would really hope to get better handwriting support. the current one (Sketch) is clunky at best compared to some other ones. Love the improvement in Tasks! Also, 25 min is too short. Usually meetings last 30 min or 1 hr. But I would test it to see how this works

If they would only restore some of the convenient features of Legacy Evernote. It has been a painful time to lose that functionality.

I agree that Pinned Notes is a very nice update. But what about restoring "Save sort order for this notebook" which was available in 6.x versions ? It should be your next priority 🙂

Is there a way to backup the new version of evernote? I can't select more than 100 notes at once.

and yet Reminder sorting has been removed. No point adding new features for me, if current ones are being taken away because I won't be sticking around to use them.

Very good news! I will continue to request the option on mobile to view notes in full screen. On the other hand, the interface for tablets is still slow and confusing (my profile photo appears twice, it is a previous photo, not the current one that appears on PC, web and mobile and it also overlaps with the page titles), therefore Please, for tablets make it the same as the current interface of mobile phones.

Evernote simplicity but also its engagement to produtivity makes It for me the best note taking app. However I do miss some kind of possibility to filtrate ALL conected notes (as one already can do filtering by event). Another Desirée upgrade would be the possibility to draw ideias by topics, much like a brainstorm platform or so. I know there are many wishes from ALL customers and I haver to say I've been very happy with ALL the upgrade made so far by Bending Spoons (already received many suprise gifts from you).

Thank you for improving the app. Please consider changing that you must choose between Notebooks and Shortcuts, for example I don't use Tasks or Calendar, why can't I remove those two and have both Notebooks AND Shortcuts?

Transcription in theory is a good idea but most times there's a lot of fluff talk. I just want to be able to make a note that's automatically timestamped to the audio with the important stuff. Almost like chapters. For example, 2:44 Talking about Days of the week.

I appreciate your efforts to bring Evernote back to life really! But, please, look at that android app, please... When I click, it takes nearly 8-10 seconds to open homepage but when I click notes section, it takes another 8-10 seconds to open a note to read the note. I am using macbook, android, ipad, windows and web app. Only the Android app is slow. Please...

Feature request: can Evernote add the ability to move certain tasks up and down the task list? That would be very helpful.

Can you explain the technical implementation issue of why we can’t have infinite notes and infinite notebooks? Apple doesn’t restrict the amount of folders I can have on iCloud so I’d like to understand.

The option for pinning a special note on top of a notebook is great, thx 👍🏻 But could you please let us sort the notes in a notebook individually like it was in the Legacy version? That means: in certain notebooks we need the notes sorted by title and in other notebooks we need the notes sorted by date. At the moment, as soon as you change the sorting in one notebook, it affects the sorting of all other notebooks too 😢
