Fingers crossed 1.4.5 is done soon, because although it started as a “small update”, stuff like the stress ball and the hopper can be revolutionary for the fabric of terraria farms
It will take a few months at least im thinking the anniversary again because in one of idk if it was a tweet or a forum post they specifically mention spoilers in the "next few months"
@@Yodis_Makes sense ngl. Maybe there would be one material you can get (similar to how luminite is the one ingredient always there in most of the class-based crafting at the end of the game) that you could maybe obtain early hardmode and is used to craft every monolith? Then each of them would have an item from its event that you would use to craft, like a red material that has like a 1/20 (or any drop rate really) chance to drop from every blood moon enemy, and then something similar for all the other events?
In Chicken Bones' knighting ceremony, there is a green painted life fruit in the tree. I didnt think life fruit could grow on leaves, so this could be a spoiler for placeable life fruits? I might be being stupid here, but i didn't think they can grow on leaves or have a placeable variant yet.
I'm hoping it's a rubblemaker upgrade/added feature so we can place more placeable ambient objects like stalagmites/stalactites, as well as other objects not available rn, like ambient plants/objects like oasis plants (hopefully even cattails/pots as well!)
@@Sporketto It could even be related to that item they teased, where you can choose which variant of ambient object you want, which would be really cool!
I hope that the addition of the hopper could lead to a command block, as well. Just being able to set Journey Mode powers with wires would be amazing for adventure maps. Any extra functionality (like being able to spawn mobs at specific locations using the compass and depth meter coordinates) would be even better (if possible)!
@@babygaga821 Nahh Terraria rogue-like adventure maps with different challenges and bosses spawning? I'd be down for it! We can already spawn some enemies in with statues, but extra mobs would go a long way to making a fun challenge.
@@williampiette5943in that case, maybe there would be a new character and world difficulty, which would be adventure. The world/character would only be able to work with each other like how journey characters do. This time your world would be slightly different though and would probably disable progression in one way or another, and also adventure characters would have journey powers except with added powers like command blocks (so maybe I kind of in-game hero’s mod except it’s only available for one type of character?)
It feels so weird hearing the name Chicken Bones. I still remember them from the Chicken Chunks Minecraft Mod which was the one of the first big popular chunkloading mods, what a pleasant surprise to hear they are doing well.
It really feels weird. I think he had a ton of API mods for older minecraft versions too. Without him modded minecraft wouldn t have been the same and i m glad now he can actually get a proper pay for it s amazing job
@anthroimperzia3927 When you don't know someone's gender, generally "they" is the safe option to avoid having people complaining to you. You're living proof that it doesn't ALWAYS work, but it still remains the safest one.
*PET STAND REQUESTED* Now I can finally spam the next idea on my mind… Buff the frost dragon staff, give it a frost thrower (flame thrower) and even if they changed it to a purely support tower it would be good with it. Maybe even make it freeze enemies in place which I feel is plausible since it’s a unique biome chest drop. There’s just so many things that can be done with it and right now it’s kinda… meh.
I hope the Cloud Slime are just an easier way to spot sky islands Like, whenever a cloud slime spawns it means there's a sky island right above It doesn't makes sense spawning only in the sky islands if the gravity is already low there so, any slime could jump with that floatiness And hopefully those slimes will drop cloud blocks since there are literally a limited amount and it could help with falling damage in the early stages of a new world Maybe even cloud platforms?
@@neexy9669plus, if your world is out of cloud blocks, you probably have progressed enough to just create another world and use a gravitation potion to find new islands and get cloud blocks from those
Glad you're taking the time to go back to your roots and just playing Terraria. Take your time on the uploads, but I can't wait to see what you've got in store!
Theory: Given the max speed timer on the hopper setup, I would guess hoppers are basically like trapped chests, and when activated they will suck up any item close by.
My guess about showing the items is that that's probably just a dev thing (like summons targeting dummies). Obviously, mods can replicate that kind of stuff anyways, but they're not really easily available to non-pc players. Anyways, apparently the Moonglow slimes actually plant moonglow on Jungle grass. I only noticed it because some other comment pointed it out.
I find there's usually one in the underground desert on large worlds. I know it can be painful to get one sometimes but fishing for it is almost always worse.
A Torch God spawn item that starts up the event instantly regardless of torch count. You only get the item if there are enough torches, but you can try the event regardless. Either that or you need to minimum number for the item to work, but I think the first idea is more fun.
What I could see working is breaking all but the bottom block of trees with the axearang, then breaking the bottom block with the axe of regrowth to automatically replant. Or they could just add a way to combine the two, which would be really nice to have.

Its crazy to me that chicken bones, one of the most influental minecraft modders making some of the biggest mods ever (including THE not enough items) is now one of the biggest devs for terraria. Small world and crazy correlations
Idk if anyone saw this but im asumming shadow orbs and crimson hearts are gonna be placeable item now if you look back at the christmas tree on the top
I really love that they actively work on QoL. Also Squirrel Whip - Squirrel Summon that shoots Acorns - Or maybe just a stationary turret style tree that spawns squirrels to attack enemies? Eh whatever, still waiting for a minecart gun that shoots minecarts.
@@epicortonotepic8314Quality of Life. Things that make gameplay more comfortable, like increased stack sizes for materials, or the auto sort into chests thingy. :)
what i want the most from 1.4.5 has gotta be support for folders when saving and loading characters and worlds so i can sort all my stuff without 20 different characters named 3per7
7:36 a bit far fetched, but I would love if those were potential lyrics to the torch god theme. It most likely isn't but I think it would be cool. I used to think having lyrics in a boss theme would be really odd but I've been playing so much final fantasy xiv that it really is just amazing to have something like that for fight music. But who knows
@@Goomyee That would be insane, and I would love it. Thing is, DM Dokuro has fully separated himself from Calamity, and he was never really in the Vanilla community, as far as I know
What are your thoughts on changing the frost hydra staff from a simple projectile to a flamethrower like spray that gushes out occasionally and leaves a trail of flames below like the dart rifle with cursed flame darts?
The second time saying this, but we really need weapons for the other classes equivalent to the Zenith. Firstly, the Zenith boasts one of the highest DPS, and once crafted, it neither consumes mana potions nor ammo. Moreover, acquiring all the other endgame class weapons is considerably easier compared to obtaining the Zenith. For instance, commonly considered final summoner weapons are the Kaleidoscope and Terraprism, both dropped pre-Moonlord by the Empress of Light. Introducing new final weapons for the other classes, mirroring the Zenith's combination of previous weapons, is essential. The mage weapon, akin to the Last Prism but with higher DPS and debuffs from its components, would consume a substantial amount of mana. The ranger's weapon, a combination of the flare gun, an ultimate gun, bow, and rocket launcher, would allow players to choose arrow, bullet, and rocket types, balancing its DPS between the mage weapon and Zenith. Lastly, the summoner class deserves a powerful whip crafted from five different whips. This whip would swing rapidly across the screen, paired with a summon-a god-like being floating in the background akin to Moonlord-that collectively achieves the highest DPS among all weapons, compensating for the defense sacrificed in choosing the summoner class.
I would tend to say give the Zenith Whip the least raw DPS, but give it a strong Summon Tag damage- the Summoner gains strength from its summons, the whip should focus on those. Possibly nerf damage a little more and give Ichor or smth.
But why..? There is not even content or bosses to use that shit on after moon lord lol. I would much rather them rework golem and cultist to be more difficult, and if possible to add more hardmode biome specific bosses (or minibosses) like for the snow and shroom biome, currently almost completely useless on hardmode.. especially snow. Also it would be lit to have way more mobs on the space layer and it having more importance overall.
@nappasghost4490 space is a small area qith literally no land, it doesn't entirely need content. iirc Culrist isn't supposed to ve super strong, it's an event trigger to move from Plantera and Golem to Lunar, that's why it has no drops. Snow has Ice Golem and Frost Moon, mushroom is a rare biome that doesn't really have much purpose at all, but it still has the Truffle Worm
@@furiouscorgi6614 Why wouldnt it need content? Ocean is small and it has a boss.. (I dont count wyvern as a boss) literally space is where the moonlord comes at it aint even relevant until late hardmode, look at calamity and what they done with space for an example. Just bcs Cultist is a trigger for lunar events doesnt mean it has to be this easy, the same as golem. They are remnants of old terraria design that don't look good in the face of bosses like duke, EOL and Queen slime. Lunar events are boring asf and moonlord while kind of difficult and fun is just too little of late game content to flesh out the drops from the lunar events or bosses like duke. And what if Shroom biome is small? Does that mean it doesn't deserve more content? Why would you want like 10 useless ass weapons post moon lord instead of actual content??
The slingshot would be an AMAZING new weapon that could give another use for seeds. Hopefully, the Re-logic team will add more dart guns, blow guns, and weapons of those varieties in the future. I would love to see multiple slingshots too, all across the game, making slingshot only playthroughs possible!
Though I'm excited about your new, larger projects, I love your short new videos as well. I'm not too active in the community, so it is nice to have a quick and reliable source of info for all things Terraria!
Storage inventory Left/Right Arrow buttons that move ALL items in ALL grouped storages (Starting from the currently selected space slot) for the purpose of opening up new empty space slots in the storage (So we can custom Sort/Order our Storages instead of BEING FORCED to rely on the "Auto-Sort" button)
@@Sentient_Bread_Slice yeah but they didn't shoot with wires because they use ammo maybe you can connect a chest to them to feed in 1.4.5 and a timer to make it automatic
@@Sentient_Bread_Slice yeah but they didn't shoot with wires because the use ammo maybe you can connect a chest to them to feed and a timer to make it automatic
The slime that had moon glow was glowing, I have an terraria biome idea that I've had for a year, The Infected, the howl biome is made of infected stone, there's 2 bosses a bigger version of the only enemy in the biome its basically the eater of souls but with a diseased yellow color that is also the color of the biome and in hard mode you can awaken the Infected Centipede, the infected centipede can walk on walls, floors and selings, the biome is always on the side with the dungon and is connected to the ocean behind it, and the biome is elevated the border of the biome is the end of one side of the tectonic plait that is on top of the regular ground, and also Terraria The Last Page.
in both cases where the slimes had unique effects, they had blocks inside them. i think they're probably gonna add a ton of new effects with items. maybe a lot of the potion ingredients will give the slimes their potion's effects
The hopper seems like a crazy addition, can't believe we are actually going to have it! It's gonna be very convinient for afk farjs and other forms of automation Another thing I noticed in that clip is that the cannons deal damage despite not being manually used by the player. Is that going to be a change too? There's also a new item in the state of the game's banner: we can see something green inside
Maybe stupid idea, but what if the slimes picked up the items and are carrying them around? And they "evolve" on specific blocks, like the cloud block making it float more
The two things id love to see is the green, amber, and pink balloons making some sort of offset bundle of balloons, giving a 2 slot item set instead of a 4 slot item set, giving us more mobility and more slots to take advantage out of it. And an "Extra Large" map generation, to just give that extra room for extra activities, because I've always found large to be just a bit too small for some of the things that i do on the builds i do on the map, even if the setting is hidden behind a special seed code like how legendary is, with a name like "MapsTooSmall" or something along those lines than itll be amazing
Oh, I see how it works! The Hopper appears to be a wiring-layer block like Actuators. I believe the way it works is that a hopper must be placed on an inventory block like a chest, and then when a wiring pulse triggers it it draws in all items in range during the pulse. Great approach, it means we dont need the hopper to be a new kind of inventory block but rather seamlessly compatible with existing ones! The reason you dont see it is it only shows up on wire view! Thats why the teaser included those blue and red wall lines, to signify theres wire stuff going on!
I hope they add some references to Adventure time. In my opinion they give me the same strong vide, candy kingdom always reminds me of the Hallow, the wacky creatures they both have, the fun and also wacky or cool weapons in both things and the sense of adventure
I would still like to see a set of armor that combines the minimg armor and fishing armor (plus all of the weird gimmick armor like the genie legs) and an ultimate pickhammaxe. - request from the Crown Operative 👑
First time playing… Just killed skeleton boss and it dropped an item called “Chippy’s Couch” & now I came across this channel! Is that really ur couch?!
Yes, it is his couch. He has another RU-vid channel called "Chippy's Couch" that the literal couch in game is named after. He is one of the biggest (if not just the biggest) Terraria channels so he's been buddies with the devs for some time now.
thanks for all the info i wouldn't know anything if you didnt make these also is one of your big projects going to be a video for your infernum playthrough on the second channel?
it says slime evolution right? So the slime has a cloud block in it. the fastest idea is that it spawned with the cloud in it. OR you throw the cloud block down and the slime eats it and evolves? Also the hopper seems to be the blue/red back tile. and as long as it's in the area of the background it goes to the nearest chest like sorting from inventory
Glad to hear about the Torch God news. I had a pyramid build for pre-hardmode that incorporates Torch God as a boss and this news just made the idea better.
My theory is much like Gas Traps and Mimic Keys, the Hopper goes inside the box to allow automated storage... Or it is crafted into it like wire is crafted into a chest for a trapped chest. One or the other.
Hoppers actually just look like what happens when you wire a chest. You know the function you press to quick stack all items to nearby chests? That's what this is. The chests are powered with a timer and will activate constantly to pick up items that fall into the collection chamber. This means AFK farming will be better than ever since YOU don't need to pick up the items, and you never need to worry about a full inventory stopping your farming ever again! The fun part will be trying to fit as many chests as possible to vacuum it all up.
Out of everything here I really like how the devs presented chicken bones with his new armor. That level of wholesomeness in the game, dubbing him armor. I just love how re-logic is so open to the community and always doing goofy things. :D
Purely based on how it looks, it seems like the blue background/connection seems to designate chests as hoppers, and the red background seems to designate chests as targets for hoppers, and when the timer ticks, items get absorbed/moved. Seems awfully complicated if that's really it, but I'm just happy we are getting this mechanic.
After just finishing a yoyo-only playthrough I think there should be at least one more yoyo in progression between the Eye of Cthulhu and the Terrarian, maybe dropped from Duke Fishron or Empress of Light? I also feel that very few yoyos have special effects (like how the Terrarian has the trailing thing following it that deals extra damage) and it would be cool if some yoyos got updates to be more of a unique upgrade from the previous yoyo than just more damage.
Think the important bit in the hopper picture got missed. Those cannons, the ones that only do damage if you fire them yourself? They are doing damage, when redstone activated. Either that's a skyblock only option, or you craft them with a stressball to get an autofire cannon.
With being able to select the color of the presents, I believe the true spoiler is that it's like that for all placeables that have random textures, like books. No more needing to place and break the books 30 times to get the exact one you want.
A new slingshot weapon that uses acorns as ammo would be awesome, cause a lot of weapons that consume non-standard ammo are hard to get ammo for, but you can get a stupid amount of acorns really fast and straight up buy them from the Dryad. You'd probably find one in a living tree, and it'd be nice to give it a hard mode variant for people who like the weapon and want to keep using it against tougher enemies.
You missed something else fairly big; cannons and snowball launchers (and presumably other similar things) are now able to deal damage when wired. This will make AFK'ing much easier than before.
Ngl the slime with moonglow makes sense becuase slimes already drop stuff like ores, potions, bombs, torches etc so that could be usful anywere but the cloud slime and dart slime are intresting to say the least becuse those 2 slimes could be seed exclusive or spawn regurlely
Given that the slimes float higher with clouds, and gave off light with moon glow. My guess is that it is intended to help the skyblock, but I expect it will be available on all seeds. I like the idea of slimes being able to pick up items if they land on them and getting special effects, but also being able to spawn occasionally to farm the items.
Just started playing this for the first time a couple days ago after having this in my library for years. Really enjoying it so far. Kinda wish I had friends who played it but still enjoying! Actually fun trying to figure out how things work. Cheers! ✌️
I said it a million times but Re-logic has to be one of the best game dev teams out there. Not only are their offices filled with positivity, but they try to please the community as well! A funny suggestion, why not adding it lol. A controversial feature? Make it toggleable in the settings. You’re mad at the game? Getfixedboi. You really rarely get a video-game team that’s like this, consistently for 10+ years!
