This kind of cosmetic updates explain the subscription program where you are forced to pay annually regardless improvements. Let's keep this direction and we all eventually end up using Blender.

That's exactly what I think. Autodesk needs to rewrite this thing - released in 1996 - from scratch. Nowadays we have multi-threaded processors and Tensor cores - please pass this news to Autodesk. Just look at Plasticity! This is what modern software should look like. In the meantime, to save my sanity, I shall immerse myself in a Blender crash course😍

Every indie dev and student who don't make a cent don't use max or any paid software so Autodesk doesn't care anyway 😅 blender modeling tool's specially for architecture and visualization is a joke compared to max checkout spline tools in max and so many features in max Im sure we don't even know about . Use student version or don't upgrade no body force y'all to pay annually fee I'm happy with 2024.2 version

10 years worked in 3d max and I loved this soft, but now I working in Blender + Octane render and don't regret it. Blender have an excellent tool for VFX - don't need in additional plugins.

I think they should start implementing AI features otherwise 3ds max will be obsolete/ outdated due to the new dynamics we are currently experiencing

what's the point. 3DSMax is already bloatware with 90s UI and workflow which requires expensive plugins to be efficient. AI tools will most likely render all 3D packages useless (yes, almighty free blender too) at once.

If you go on the 3ds Max ideas page, I posted the top voted idea on the whole website (CAT 2.0) back in 2017 and I suggested the use of AI for animation even back then. If Autodesk cared, they probably would have done something by now but who knows.

@@JingIeFett Autodesk aren’t innovators, they are buyers of existing software and they either kill it by not developing it, or they kill it slowly by developing’ it slowly. Their business model is to buy software that others wrote and then try (miserably) to maintain it….

I wish pressing hide on a group would hide all the visible elements of the group. This should have been impemented in 3DSMax 1.1, but somehow still in 3DSMax 2025 hiding a group doesn't do anything. Didn't anybody complain? How silly is that?

if you want exact color from Image to 3d max then you can check RGB value of that color via Photoshop and apply same color Value in 3d max

People saying they would switch to blender. Please do, no vfx company uses it. 3dsmax has been a clear winner when it comes to handling huge scenes, having the best plugins in the entire industry and probably being one of the best modeling softwares. Please do skip to blender, nobody is stopping you, and talking about how much blender is better is not going to change this fact.

Most people who still use 3DS Max (in 2024) are using it because they don't want to spend time to transition to Blender. 3DS Max subscription is basically a lazyness tax.

People use 3ds Max for the Plug-ins. I don't know of a single studio that uses vanilla Max. The Plug-ins are so good that it's a cookie cutter to client's wants and wishes. So far, there's no equivalent in other softwares.

max has rather good modelling tool for polygon, its used mostly for games and archi vis. I agree its a mix of plugins is why early versions were buggy. blender isnt as convenient, max is generally a better tool than blender, max also has better connections/transfer to other softwares and handles large scenes pretty well. people mostly use blender coz its free., and beginners/hobbyist to 3d will want to try, 3dmax is in a way too pricy for individuals and subscriptions is totally a money grab that sucks. A lot of plugins were exclusive to max in beginning like vray/forest pack/rail clone/speedtree/ character studio etc they were great for scene building.

Nah. I have blender for 5 years and I'm still considering on buying the Indie version of max because it is much faster to model. By the way, I'm a professional Architect now working as an Indie Game Developer.

Hardware have noting to do with realism... It only affect the performance. Watch my tutorial on RU-vid or join my corse to learn how to create realistic visualizations ;)

The UI and other foundational things breaking at random is what killed my love for the suite. It's been a recurring for well over a decade now but they simply haven't bothered looking in to these things. Autodesk needs to step their game up.

We need meauring tape in 3ds max like sketchup. There is a plugin named Di master but its very buggy.

We need proper measurement and functionalities like accurately typing values while move, rotate and scale tool is prompted. I hate to eyeball the measurement as i drag objects. I find max more interesting than sketchup for its ability to create complex polygonal modeling.. I wish max can also sculp I wish it can have some plugins similar to tissue addons of blender. These are the updates I will wait to happen but i think it will never ever happen

@@tmule424 you can only preview the measurement but the way you move or rotate with accuracy still suvks. Drop and drag it. Eyeballing it sucks. Snaps are painful to use. Clashes are everywhere.

Autodesk desn't care about 3dsmax anymore..... I am doing architecture renderings for many years and its doing the job for for me. I wish autodesk will add some features from Lumion or Twinmotion like real sky or libraries for trees and other stuff to increase efficiency.

that seems like no improvement at all. One feature I would suggest is the better highlighting for material on slate material editor when you select an object, instead of having to use the picker everytime.

Arch viz, you should stop pretending that your updates are new. The main thing you are talking about is 3ds max. If that is the case, why can't you connect directly to 3ds max? You have to send 3ds max after connecting it to blender. Also, the main thing I want to say is cosmos. Why don't you invent cosmos plants and people to do animation? .
