It's absolutely insane that this is all free content. You're fantastic at leading such a large and diverse modding team, Corey. Which is why I've pledged my Twitch prime sub to you for as long as I have it to give! But seriously, to the ENTIRE TEAM... Thank you all. You've all done your part to contribute something to this mod, and even if no one else directly says it... THANK YOU!!
These guys definitely deserve to be paid for this to be an official stand alone release or dlc even Then again they do it for passion and it's amazing and I hope each modder gets a dream job in the industry their work is very clear here
The most hyped parts of this update for me are the new larger GC maps + new layouts for different era starts aswell as your tech no longer being linked to the current imperial leader. It'll be fantastic to play the NR and not be forced to rush the core, essentially removing the IR as an endgame opponent if I want to get the new class modernization ships. (Ofcourse I could start in a later era but then most of the warlords have already been wiped off the map)
Yeah, later era starts do kind of make you feel like you've lost out on a lot of content, since in the earliest eras the galaxy is so fractured and dynamic, and every faction has a good shot at expansion. Playing from the Imperials side, if you do a post Era 4 the whole legitimacy sort of falls by the wayside - At least in the current version, it seems like you can't even get that many legitimacy unlocks, since you unlock the most when winning planets from other Imp factions. Not to mention integration rewards such as capturing heroes or unlocking certain units. I think in 3.3 for example the Knight Hammer and Reaper are both tied to integrating the Eriadu Authority and Pentastar Alignment, so I don't know what happens if you start in an era where they don't exist.
@@RevanX77 Very interesting points. It said in the changelog that you can start as the GM in a late era now. I wonder if we can start with space Wario in an era beyond his EU death at era 2.
@@luigi180 Doubtful on progressives (though you already can in Corporate Acquisitions). You start Maldrood after Treuten's death, but Kosh lived for a while after that.
This is awesome. I was so sad because it's like I'm not that bad at the game but it took me all the way too Thrawns Era just to fully take the South missing out on being able to role play the Bacta campaign and campaign for the core
@@jeambeam3173 They occasionally turn out a fairly cool ship or more often a decent Ground Vehicle or infantry armor because the Costuming and Props team usually do actually put in good effort even under Disney. The setting as a whole's boring as hell though.
I am so glad you guys changed era progression, the sheer amount of times that Sate Pestage never leaves courscant or kuat and you have to dig him out like a tick, only to then have Thrawn / Isard / the Emperor throw themselves into hopeless naval battles and die in the space of a couple of weeks.
Here is THE true love for the franchise, creativity, commitment to the fan community! Thank you, Corey and EAWX team for such an amazing work on both the Thawn's Revenge and Fall of Republic. That is what make games immortal - MODS and an amazing community of die-hard fans. In conclusion, I want to thank you for the submission of materials and videos/guides/trailers, etc. They are made at a professional level, with easy introductions to the newcomers. -May the force be with you- May the Force serve you well!
Bro honestly im in love with this community now. Been playing the game since i was 7 and haven't truly quit. Now all i can say is...Imagine if an RTS big-name like Paradox decided to reach out to these modders to completely revive this game. I think that'd be phenomenal, even if it is a pipe dream.
new update looks amazing! are there any future plans to make the local populations during ground battles more useful or add more influence units like umbarans, wookies or naboo starfighters? Edit: Absolutely love the starhawk
I know there is an unofficial submod(will have to wait for it to be updated) that allows naboo starfighters via influence. Also enables a lot of the other "rarer" units to be buildable as well either via influence or roster, like B2's for CSA, or Providence destroyers through moncal influence. It's called "no cruiser left behind."
@@TheStrategyGamerPro i agree, I love the variety of units in AOR but prefer the factions and Galactic mode mechanics in thrawnes revenge. If more variety could be added to thrawns it would be perfect for me.
I love the idea of branching regimes depending on which leader you choose as the Empire. Obviously it’s difficult to include the complexity of games like HOI4 and their mods, but the idea of internal politics and power struggles is such a cool concept that would be awesome to see in the mod. Again though, I could imagine the hell you’d have to go through for that.
Lordy who needs a star wars empire at war 2 when we have your team and the AotR team giving us Jems constantly? Keep it your guys, and may the force be with you!
oh hell yes! so excited to play through the new progressives, sick probots on rebelscum Kwings, obliterate waves of slug-crewed space junks, and just maybe enjoy a land battle for once! thanks to everyone on the mod team 💪
Really impressive that this is all free as well. Keep up the fantastic work m8. Side note: So I have recently gotten the Steam Deck, would you happen to know if EAW Mods like this would work for it? TIA.
Really looking forward to trying the new era changes! The highlights for me are the era progression changes, and the fleet starting size being smaller to go better in line with the economic changes and difficulty level. Always hated playing as IR and suddenly losing Isaard in the middle of a string of conquests just because the game hit week 120 lol. Likewise, it's good to see the economic system in TR is avoiding its teething issues in FotR, by reducing starting units depending on difficulty. In FotR, I liked the changes overall, however the excess starting units made the start of every GC extremely overwhelming and felt like I had to play "catch up" in terms of infrastructure on smaller GC's. Having more personal control over early game forces will make the game feel a lot more organic in terms of building up before attacking, rather than player and AI alike amassing early game fleets and going on a space rampage through enemy shipyards as soon as the game starts.
Been playing this for a few hours, and I cannot emphasize this enough… PHENOMENAL job. Honestly, so fleshed out and the skins/unit diversity has only been tripled. It only adds to it when you can add the Empire progressive features. Keep up the good work!
Just letting you know for Fall of the republic, the fleet builder is broken for every faction except CIS and republic. Every time I select another faction and spawn units they won’t move anywhere on the map nor will they engage units on their own. Hopefully it’s not just my version but if it isn’t please fix it
I can't wait to play this. Just started a fall of the republic because GC but might jump back to TR now that the update is out. I just finished one as the Empire but I will probably be playing them again with the update. 😅
i have a question on the era progression mechaninc. say you were able to completely destroy the empire before the next era rolled over, would the next era's imperial leader be able to spawn? or would you be able to completely deny a faction it's next era?
Does Kyle get to dual wield a Ligthsaber and Concussion Rifle, Heavy Repeater, or DarkTrooper Blaster? Because that would be a fun way to make him stand out. (Either literally dualweilding or a weapon swap like basegame Bossk's Blaster-Grenades option.
This could be entirely intentional. But In multiple FTGU campaigns I’ve ended up with Independent force planets spawning with stuff like Assertors and Vengeances. It’s just a little jarring to be just starting out with only the Economy to upkeep stuff like Procursators and MC80B’s only to probe droid an independent planet and see an SSD or a Viscount in the enemy roster. Sometimes if it Spawns on the right planet. It can act as a blockade I didn’t have to pay for. But other times it’s just a massive roadblock that I just have to leave sitting in the middle of my territory until I can spare enough capital ships to toss at the problem.
Well it's a lot easier to do whatever you want with good quality by being a hobby and not a dev with a chain of command, time lines money on the line executives and a lot of other factors :P
Wow, thank you! I'm downloading it right now! A question about the progression, can we start small like 1-2 planets build an empire like that? Played some mods and when we get half the map already it's always a strange way to start, they also give us bunch of heroes right away. It's alright that way also but just bit more confusing. If not now please consider adding a campaign like that in the future, to build up from scratch but still be able to research all the tech in time.
I love the decoupling of the progression from the imperial leader. It always bothered me that to progress as the empire, I had to just send my leader off to suicide. That never made sense to me. I get it from a lore standpoint, but IMO it's better just to setup the time-frame for the player to do things how they want and change the story as they play. For instance If I have Natasi Daala in the Night Hammer and want to keep going with that, I like that that can be an option now.
@Corey Loses: Great update! Trying it out now! Btw is it normal that I loose all my shipcrews after a battle? Before the most recent space battle I had 50, after I had 0 and this can be repeated with every other battle.. I didn't even loose a ship 😅 is this some sort of new upkeep for getting my ships damaged in the battle?
New update! Time to merge all the new maps into a super map and start a new coop campaign with my brother and play with the new adjustments. Thank you for all your work.
I make it myself, just adding planets and tradelanes from all the campaigns to the era 1 Full Progressive. My 3.2 map worked fine with 300ish planets. I don't publish it, it's just for my use.
Me: Another update from Corey and his modding team? My PC that i spend hundreds of hours playing these mods on: im tired boss… but really cant wait to play around with the new units, mechanics, and strategies for hundreds of hours… and ill play every faction with every map and i mean E V E R Y😂 thank you for the tirelessly working on making a fresh and intriguing content. As long as my computer is working, expect me to be playing empire at war…
Thank you mod developers so much. I accidentally bought this game a couple of years ago. When I decided to go into the steam workshop and your mods got me addicted. Thank you for making the past couple years way better than they could have been ❤
the best part about your mod, is you let your players choose their experience. The ability to turn on or off certain units, and your giant era and map selection is amazing.
I genuinely love just how far the modding community has taken a game that is almost 20 years old! And how they continue to not miss a beat! I really want Petroglyph to get their act together and just update the game engine. The game itself doesn't have to be new from the ground up, idk anything about game design, but even a new game would sell wonderfully.
Can't wait to have some free time so I can really dig deep on a few playthroughs. Any idea on when/if raid fleets will return? That was one of my favorite mechanics!
Awesome update guys! For the Imperial regimes, if you turn down Isard/the Committee and they become a Warlord faction, what's the deal with that faction? Can it accumulate legitimacy and unlock legitimacy units? Can you integrate it by the same conditions as other Imperial factions? Corey in the past has talked about a similar option of choosing between accepting or rejecting Dark Empire, can you talk about that a bit, or is it too far out in the pipeline right now? While you mention here that the Dark Empire race can diversify who you're fighting, it seems like currently in order to fight Dark Empire you'd need to intentionally play badly in order to tank your legitimacy score, then wait for some other faction to achieve it, at least as any Imperial faction. And this is an aside question, but if you're playing as a non-Imperial faction and intentionally deny Imperial integrations (IE by corralling the faction leader to the last planet they have, then taking that last planet yourself), does Dark Empire never form? Or am I just mistaken about the conditions for integration?
The era 2 regime you don't pick just becomes Independent heroes somewhere, not a real faction. For DE, the plan is that if you reject it, it will go to the second place (but you'll still get the later regimes.) It's pretty difficult to not trigger DE since the conditions are largely eliminating Imperial factions. Though if you really try, you may be able to kill them all simultaneously and avoid it. This may break some code
@@josiahshangrila7322 That's too bad. I still think the independent faction should maybe be split into minor factions, so in some cases people can play around with stuff like Maldrood integrating the Committee or whatever. In the Dark Empire case, you'll basically choose between Palpatine and Jax then? Maybe that could give you a debuff to DE then, like Palps spawns in his old body with less health or something lol. Though in the case where you choose DE it'd be weird to continue on to Jax. And yeah, I was mostly talking about the Imps, for the other factions they all eventually encounter DE anyhow.
@@josiahshangrila7322 Another thing, in the changelog it says that the Warlord trait prevents integration, does this go for any and all Warlord heroes, including legitimacy ones? So if another faction rolls a Warlord, they'll need to be killed to be integrated? I'm not sure about this change, since in the lore there were numerous Warlords that joined other factions, such as Screed with Zsinj. If they can be rolled with legitimacy, it's a little weird that they'd be unwilling to switch allegiances if your faction isn't considered more legitimate.
So if the Pentastar or Eriadu factions trigger Empire Reborn, and become the Remnant going forward, do they then have access to current Imperial held worlds and unit options?
I don’t know if it’s part of this update or a past one, but I noticed the Starhawk and what I think was Hera. Personally, I like adding smaller canon additions that don’t necessarily contradict the story. Obviously, adding the First Order would be a different issue. Very excited for when we get to the Solo twins, Vong War, and Second GCW
I think that placing the Resurgent Class and MC-85/95 when we will reach the Vong War could be fun (and them being optionall to me is even better imho)
Shadow droids now for Dark Empire 😎 🎉as well love the little details.. an the hunter killer probe droids you guys have made this game so much better thank you
Is there a video at how best to optimize the game? My pc is years beyond strong enough and it's very laggy. I know its single core, but your game looks pretty smooth compared to mine.
Will multiplayer GC ever be available in the newer versions of EAWX (including FOTR)? Or would it be too complicated to support with all the new changes made to the game?
It's not supported because like everything I'm the galactic maps runs on a script language that the multiplauer doesn't support That's why it's been left behind adaik
Hello, I have some weird problem. My save files is getting exponentially bigger with each save and load... I am playing The Hunt for Malevolance campaign in Fall of the Republic and save files goes from 15 Mb to 50-70 and even to ridiculous/ludicrous 850+ Mb (ofc PC won't load SUCH save). I am paralyzed because of this bug and can't play further without saving (don't want hardcore/iron man mode without saves). What could be the problem? Thanks in advance.
Damn, just Absorbed Eriadu and then Palpatine came. And i notice those 2 events at once fucked my economy haaaard, Palpatines cloning lab took like 1/5 of my Income and then the upkeep of all the new units put me another few thousands in upkeep depth, now i get 2k a cycle 😭
