Nurse was -13 after game 3. If the Oilers had lost game 4 and Nurse was -2 in it, he'd have been the worst playoff performer in the history of hockey. Ending up -9 only, and just being bad rather than the worst in history as he was heading to, is actually flattering to him.

I agree, nurse is useless and I hope McDavid will stop sticking up for him. He will not get any better and will continue to cost the Oilers. Buy him out or whatever but he has to go.

Right, and add Kane that's some pretty significant pieces imo.

Everybody plays hurt in the Playoffs and if you are not @ 100% its up to you to pull yourself.

You wish lol - you must be jealous. You're team probably doesn't make the playoffs, and if you're a Panther fan - you won't get past 1st round next year (look at Vegas and Colorado for proof). We'll be fine next year Cup is ours.

@@KptKrunch9481 Son....I'm 65 years old and watched the Oilers dynasty in a 21 team league where EVERY team had superstars, in this U S. dominated league , vying for stars with American $$ , and states with no tax , trips for any Canadian team to the final is a chore. For Edmonton to repeat they need to fix a few things, and with the albatross contracts hanging around their necks , the Oilers have no room to get better. Status Quo won't cut it next season.

I became an Oiler fan during the '06 cup run (Grew up in Wpg - btw - I saw the last WHA game - you know, the one where the Jets kicked Wayne Gretzky and the Oilers butts to win the their third and the very last Avco Cup!) Players, first and foremost, want to win. Money is second in a lot of cases (unless you haven't made it yet). McD and Drai will be paid, as will Bouchard. Nurse's contract is an albatross, but I have a homework assignment for you. Go through each team, you'll find on ALL the contending teams, along with a lot of non-contending teams, there is at least one player being severely overpaid. Welcome to the new age! There's also players on that team that are vastly underpaid. Oilers no exception. Lets see, Hyman, Nuge, Skinner, Bouchard, Ekholm all UNDERPAID. So stop with the Nurse comments. As for 'status quo' - wow - you really think the Oilers would've lost the cup if Drai didn't have a broken finger and three broken ribs, and McD wasn't in distress (abdominal issue - hernia maybe?) that requires surgery, Kane out with his sports hernia. There will be changes, there always are. Holloway and Broberg in house for sure (remember, they didn't really play much in the regular season). So 'son' (yeah I'm about 5 years younger than you lol) as the kids say - chillax - we may not win, but we'll be Cup favorites again next year. Our window isn't closed (Oh, and btw - Gretzky and company won because Wpg born and raised Dave Semenko would beat the living crap out of anyone who treated Gretzky half as bad as McDavid and Draisaitl are treated, with only a 5 minute penalty to be suffered by him (Semenko) - dynasty's are thing of the past thanks to Gil Stein)
