And we’re back! Happy New year everyone, stoked to share some of our 2024 plans with you in this one. Of course, if there’s anything you’d like to see let us know 👇🏼
That fire making sequence tho. And the fixed blade?! Totally BA and we’re so here for it. Q: Feeling and creating “like a kid again” is a great long-term content play and can be intimidating when metrics are so prevalent in 2024. Would love to hear y’all talk through the mix of patience and confidence that has kept you going for EIGHT YEARS on this platform. It probably seems obvious to you but I wager it’d encourage a lot of creators. Cheers!
I found this channel years ago and stayed for the production quality and creativity around home reno and video making. As someone who grew up camping and adventuring off the beaten path in various vehicles as well, this is like Christmas morning. Super excited to see what you guys do with the land!! Maybe some ATV's are in your future 👀
Love how BCBC(Becki&Chris Basecamp) is coming along. We bought our little offroad trailer last year and we got out to some established campgrounds. This year we're planning an epic trip to Utah and plan to do part of the Utah BDR on the way home. So from now until May we're going to be doing some modifications to make it fully boondock ready. Can't wait to see 2024 brings for you guys. As always, much love from your Portland besties. 😝❤️
Nice EV! I’ve had a VW ID.4 EV for a year, just now working on a video about it. Keep in mind, the more aggressive the tire tread , the lower your miles per kWh. I recently learned this firsthand. Tires with low rolling resistance are best for EVs. 😀Eric.
Bring the Reno series back pleaseeee, so looking forward to seeing the kitchen and master. Love all of your content though, looking forward to the rest of the year!
So excited for this new season for you! Love the camping and cannot wait to see your new builds! Wish I was 30 years younger and that RU-vid had been available 30 years ago! Love and hugs from Florida 💕💕
These vlogs are always a glimpse into friends lives. And I am glad they take us along to glimpse into their adventures. While I don't know BC, they are people I would love to hang out with. As always, thanks!
OMG yes! All that camp vibe - a 7 year old having the best time and making Gold memories. I love this sooooo freakin much! And good to see someone actually using the PM ax. You guys are amazing.
Love your guys content and I’m super excited to see you guys pivot and doing more outdoor stuff. Quick disclaimer I’ve been camping / offroading for over 20 years and I Wouldn’t recommend a more nubbier tire like a mud terrain. Although they do great with ejecting mud from the tire so you can get more traction. They are terrible in the snow. The snow packs into all the grooves and creates a slippery tire. Ask me how I know. 😁. An all-terrain is the way to go. Hope this helps.
Happy New Years guys. Two flat black trucks ........ nice, I like it ....... 2024 is the year for fun fun fun 😜🤘 wait every year is the year for fun fun fun, anyway looking forward to Becki & Chris 2024 👍👍😍
What a fantastic way to end/start the year. I think I can speak for most of us to say that if not having video makes the podcast happen/your life easier then go for it! - The fans
Great ep! Dump the Ram mount and go Quadlock. They have aircraft mounts now too. Also, dump the cheap Amazon chairs and go with the original Helinox brand made of greater than aircraft-grade aluminium and yes, they have 'black on black' choices :) PS. What about using the Rivian to power a portable induction cooktop instead of lugging gas?
Been eyeing the Helinox products specifically the cot, but I’ll probably wait to upgrade the chairs until these ones break, they are doing the job great so far!
@@BeckiandChris Yeah a cot is so much better than sleeping on the ground, especially in winter. I like the ones they have with the longer legs. SO nice to have an elevated spot to put your shoes on easily plus some storage under it. Their party trick is lightness with strength so thought their Edit- 'chairs' etc would be good for the heli. My Helinox 'chair 1' comes with me on longer MTB rides. Indulgence at under a kilo :) Keep having fun you two.
Love, love you guys are back! Keep doing your thing and we shall follow! Your "unpolished vlogs" are delights and provide a nice relaxing break from your impeccable series (serieses?) The level of dedication, visual storytelling, and editing brings such a sense of empathy and realism to your lives at a world-class level (no exaggeration!) of filmaking. Over the holidays, I made my entire family watch Heading West series. Continually told them that "This couple, with a speck of help from a few friends made this entire show series!" Then we binged EAST, NORTH and Cold Island! -- and now my sister beat me to watching today (fam texts replaced RU-vid notification). I would encourage you (within your stress limits, self-care always!) To reduce frequency and maybe a middle ground (quick edit/less angle) the video podcast - rather than remove video - as so much of your passion for design and the striking visual brand synergy brings such joy and artistry to a follower as I.. OK, OK, selfishly I'd miss the wonder I have for your set design magic. Obviously I care more for your creativity at a level you can sustain and thrive in, so please see this comment as a celebration of your extreme and amazing talent - and a suppression of any thoughts that your audience has "hunger for more" to feed us. This is a strong vote for "sacrifice quantity for quality" as, from this vantage, your commitment to the medium coupled with such artistic vision is better to be periodically experienced rather than gorging on pablum. Keep having fun regardless and Happy New Year!
Love that you're planning more vlogs! Can't wait to see more about the vehicles and overlanding in them, plus the land! Doing all the same myself, just need to find some land...
Happy new year to you guys and can't wait to see all the new content during 2024, loving the stealthy look with both vehicles perfect for adventures! :)
Love this! This is the type of silly fun that I enjoy watching. Excited for the vlog series coming and the home renos as I was waiting for that to come out. Hope both of you are doing well in the new year!
Hey!! Thanks for another great video!! Becki's exploration of her sense of adventure and personal journey with the outdoors is very similar to what mine has been and I love Chris's personality and sense of humor, we're quite similar in that respect. I really enjoy the podcast and I understand the motivation for reducing the workload to be able to continue publishing it. I'd really like to see it continue, and if audio only is how that has to happen I'm absolutely still in! Regardless of what you end up choosing to do, I'm really looking forward to the next podcast and the next regular video here as well. Happy New Year Becki and Chris!!!
You guys are two of the nicest people on the Internet. I loved this video so much. Thank you for all your beautiful work last year, and here’s to another year of wonderful adventures. 💙🦘
These are the kinds of videos are why I started following you two! Plus that you're both from the East coast! I got busy with doing so many other things that your channel fell to the wayside. I can't believe I have missed so much. The fact that you have apparently bought and too?! I cannot wait to catch up now! Sorry I was MIA. PeteInHalifax
I love watching your videos!! Makes my Sunday complete! Happy New Year to you both. Can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for you all and for us as viewers. :)
Happy new year you two. I can't wait to see what adventures you both get up to this year, it will be interesting to know what you think of the Rivian vs the F150 too. I'm hoping that this year will be my first aviation camping trip as I venture to the LAA Rally (the UK's answer to OSH/Sun 'n' Fun) and all being well spend a night under the wing...well not literally its a low wing aircraft so that might result in a head injury but you know what I mean.
Damnnnnn that matte black R1S... Honestly loving the vehicular lean of this channel. Can't wait to hear about the quirks and features (through your lens!!)
Watching you two do anything whatsoever is a treat in itself so whether its a vlog, series or podcast it’s all great Don’t stress so much about everything being so "polished" your base level content itself is very very polished as per "industry" you might not realise that and last things will happen when they are supposed to happen so don't worry about time either and!! A Very Happy New Year ☺❤✨🎉🎊
Whenever you upload a new video, I actually get a little flutter of excitement in my heart. You both have inspired me so much. Full transparency, you guys are on my vision board for 2024....You put up a new video-I'm watching it. Even if I know nothing about vehicle based adventure and don't really have an interest in it, I will watch it because no matter the subject, you always bring in humanity, humour and heart. Love you guys. Looking forward to more! And thanks!
Happy new year!🎉 I think that most of us will love the content no matter what since we came for the content or visuals but stayed for the personalities 😁 I do have a question about the base camp: Does America have a right to roam? Meaning, can someone just randomly be at the camp when you're there or be when you arrive?
Another great video! I love hearing the Newfoundland accent and sayings come out. Fellow Newfoundlander in Arizona that looks forward to going home every year.
HNY! Love seeing the lil update from you two and glad y'all got to spend it doing what you love! I'm also a fellow member of the bed by a decent time on NYE because I'm too old for midnight club haha! Have fun on the next adventure! 👋
Another great video. I love your all your gear is aesthetically uniform and always high quality (or at least looks high quality). You are light years ahead of me and my camping gear :) All your missing is an adventure cat (feline) to join you both on your journeys ;)
OH MY GOODNESS Becki! You are the ONLY other person I've heard talk about vestibular migraines. This is a hell unspeakable. I get them too. I'm so sorry you're going through that. The vertigo is HORRID. I'm curious...how do YOU treat yours?
They are SO BAD! I didn’t realize they were migrane related until I saw an ENT last month, I thought I had Meniere’s disease. I went for so long suffering through the vertigo. I started treating them like a normal migraine with 500mg of Naproxen and 1/2 Dramamine asap then going straight to sleep and seems to help immensely with the vertigo! Still had a weird feeling in my head the rest of the day and a little zappy (that’s the only way I can describe it) but able to partly function. How do you treat yours?
CHRIS, two words: Haircut - Finally!! HA HA Great video guys. Can't wait to see what you do this year. Not having the helicopter will create some new 'content' opportunities. All though I am a helicopter fan!
I think you guys have evolved i remember coming across your platform when watching Peter Mac vids where they’ve stayed shall we say in your lane, you fellas seem branch out and the vids are pretty cool
Please keep the video part of the podcast. It's really nice compared to just another audio only podcast. But maybe turn down the number of camera angles. There is no need for so many angles.
Why not just do a small workout of opening a hole after you're finished with the camping and place the poop stuff there? It only does good to the soil and over time it disintegrates, I mean as long as you cover it properly. So other campers or animals won't step on it.
