Wecome to Sydney my home ! I am your subscribe watching you vlogs and Polish vlogs ! I you have time take ferry trip to Parramatta the capital of western Sydney most populate area of Sydney ! Parramatta is also one of the historic centre of Sydney we’re first governor house is situated inside Parramatta Park next to Parramatta river ! You can have great lunch from hundreds restaurants ! Parramatta is also the third business centre in Australia! Worthies to visit and the ferry ride is spectacular !
I got the impressions that you have been discouraged, by Australians, from visiting Canberra. However, it is a big mistake to do that. Most Australians have not been to Canberra and all their opinions about it are based on what is at best mis-information. For example, they will tell you that Canberra is populate only by government employees when in fact the majority of canberrans are employed in private enterprise or self employed. Canberra's public buildings, the High court, the National Library, the National Museum of Australia, the Australian War Memorial are spectacular and well worth visiting. and Canberra is very close to some majorly attractive place in Australia, like the Snowy Mountains. Canberra is a rapidly growing planned city. It has everything but is often referred to as "The Busy Capital" Canberra does not lack for attractions or facilities nor for things to do. If you ever come here my wife and I would be very pleased to show you around.
@@CharlieandRob Magpies exist all over eastern Australia and they only attack people in their breeding season. To prevent attacks all you have to do is give them something to eat, like cashews. Then they will be your friends for the rest of their lives.
I watched this when you first posted it and came back for another look. I’m old enough to remember driving the road around the cliff before SeaCliff Bridge was built. It was a nerve wracking experience watching for falling rocks, particularly in a little Morris Minor. The train trip through the Royal National Park and along the cliff tops has some great scenery too. There’s a lot of Wollongong people who do it as a daily commute to their jobs in Sydney.
OMG this is where I grew up. I lived in the south of Sydney. I picked up the drive through The Royal National Park; they mentioned Bald Hill, but I know it as Stanwell Tops which overlooks the Stanwell Beach; the surfing beaches between Stanwell and Scarborough are the best.
Give us a yell if you head north from Sydney. I'm in Port Macquarie, about 4.5hrs drive north. I'm a taxi driver, so I know all the nice places to eat at and my family has lived here nearly two decades, so we know a lot of the nice places to see.
My in laws lived in Thirroul, my MIL grew up across the road from the Scarborough Hotel and went to the school next door. My husband was born in Coledale. I come from further down at Warilla, next to Lake Illawarra. The northern villages are expensive in comparison to the southern area from Wollongong. That old coast road before the Sea Cliff Bridge used to be wonderful but precarious to drive. The road was shut completely for, I think, it was almost two years while that bridge was built which was a nightmare for residents around the area. Wattamolla is extremely popular but there have been deaths where they jump into the water sadly.
You are spot on about that pub. It is a tourist trap and not a good advertisement for the area. It was done up a few years ago and prior to that was an absolute shit hole.
Whoo Hoo ! here we go! BRB: OMG, I look so short and stumpy!!!! 😱 Ha ha ha, that WAS a cracking episode Rob. You video footage was spectacular and the drone footage was unbelievably clear and shake free - SO GOOD! and I've noticed you editing on this one was fantastic! I really enjoyed this episode! It was great that we had the weather with us on the day too! I hope you enjoyed reliving this. It was a great day except for the food. I also love the way you did the historic moments for each spot, excellent! I wasn't privy to most of what you said on the day, but to watch it now - you did a great job, both you and Charlie! Well done. Who says Melb. is better? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mate...you took my advice & headed down to Wollongong! Now you know why I would never leave Sydney, for any other state in Australia. I was very impressed by the drone shots! Awesome Vlog mate 😎😎
That's the reason I always returned to the Gong and now will never leave. Jump my back fence and I'm at the beach or take my mountain bike up and come down through Russel Vale mine.
Hi guys. I grew up just down the road from Scarborough pub . If you had kept going along that road a little way you would have found cheaper, better and more food places than you could have poked a stick at. Not to mention beaches around every turn. Scarborough pub used to be a great local pub. Unfortunately not any more. Brought a tear to my eye seeing the places we used to spend so much time. Winters in the bush under the escarpment. Summers down the beach at Scarborough and Wombarra. If you ever come back l could take you to places the tours Don,t know about. Thanks for this. It was lovely.
I grew up in Thirroul under the escarpment in the late 70's and 80's when north of Austinmere was basically the old miners shacks. So miss the old northern suburbs.
Hi Rob and Charlie, Amazingly you went to Bald Hill and gone through the see cliff. It's a pity you didnt go through Thiroul and Willongong to see the light. They 've got so much to see there then the blow hole in Kiama furthermore from Wollongong. We bring our clients for day out almost every week just to have lunch in Wollongong.
Thank you for this amazing vlog and I love it down there . We were at Stanwell beach park last week . It is really pretty .We will miss you both when you leave Australia and thank you for appreciating our natural beauty. I look forward to seeing blogs if UK and Europe too!
Thanks Rob and Charlie for another wonderful Aussie series, sad to see it finish but looking forward to seeing much more of the UK, Poland and possibly more of Europe (Germany 😜). Hope to see you both back here sooner rather than later. Take care guys x P. S. sitting here watching this latest one in my Pixie merch 😊
Great work Charlie & Rob.As soon as I saw you pull into the Scarborough Pub I winced. It is very ordinary except for the view. Next time go into Thirroul, over the railway bridge, and first left where you will find Byrne bros surfboards. Great surf shop and a really good little cafe there. Love that you two really enjoy our country.
Geesh, I opened my front door this morning and 6 or more blow flies flew in🤮, luckily Lulu my kitty, loves to chase them kept her occupied for ages 😂. I've been on that bridge, and like you, my mind was blown re: the engineering process, amazing drone footage going under the bridge 👌. Really sad to see this series come to an end 😔
Ahhhh Home. I miss it as I now live in the US. My ex Brother in law was on the crew that built The Sea Cliff Bridge. You should of went to MOunt Kembla a ittle bit further down. You could of seen the memorial to the Mining disaster in the early 1900. MY 3x Great Grand Father and 3 of his brothers and some of there kids were killed in the disaster. Stones Road is actually named after Great Grandpa
@@gbsailing9436 Fair enough. You could of gone to Mount Kembla Pub instead for yummy food. My Mum used to work there back in the day. The huge white house that is across the The road from the Pub is where Nana Pop Mum Aunt and Uncle Ron lived. They lived in the back and my cousins and there family lived in the front part. My Family has a lot a of connections with Mount Kembla and Albion Park area
The choices for Rob and Charlie on the day were for either the Imperial or the Scarborough. I picked the Scarborough because of the fresco seating and coastal view, which I knew they would like, and secondly as I thought the pricing would be cheaper. I forgot however that is was a public holiday and there was a surcharge as well. duh! I should have checked. As they were at the end f their travels, I had originally thought when planning the trip, they might be close to their budget by the end of the three weeks for the trip and didn't want to over extend them. As it turned out, I took my daughter and her American friend their a week later (as I live close) and when to the Imperial and it was cheaper, faster with better service, but the view is not as good. So it just goes to show you can't have everything. Had we had the time, I would have taken Rob and Charlie to Wollongong. There are some great eats down there. Next year! @@annhaworth4514
I do believe I've had a beer at that pub. I was down there once for a job interview if I remember correctly and decided to have a quick one before coming home. It's a lovely area. @@annhaworth4514
@@gbsailing9436 Yep there is always next year. I haven't been back to Wollongong in a long time. Lat time I was there would of been 2006 when I went to see family and had access to my eldest son. I want to take my now hubby there when we come out to visit Aussie
what is amazing to me is that in this video, whilst at Kurnell, you were less than 20minutes from my house :( Bald hill is one of my favourite places, my mate who passed away in 2018, it was our favourite place to "cruise" to in our cars.
As an Australian I just love to watch how different people react to the presence of flies near them, and just as interesting how flies react to different people. Maybe you have noticed how some people seem to be never bothered by flies while others like yourself seem to have this innate ability to be attractive to every fly within a multi kilometer radius. Or maybe you hadn't noticed because you are too preoccupied with your own flies to fully observe others and their interactions with the flies. I have this theory, totally unscientific, that animals like dogs, horses and such can smell fear in the people they come in contact with, and flies can also sense which people are most likely to be most annoyed by them, and thus are mainly attracted to such people. They may be because flies just like to be annoying shits, or that upset, annoyed and frustrated humans sweat or perspire more than most, have a sweeter more nutritious sweat, and this is what attracts the flies to feed on the sweet human sweat.
Thanks mate. I try to tell Rob and Charlie to come over a Christmas so that they can see Sydney Fireworks but they can't get the time off work then. So if people support them more then maybe they can give up work and do more travel vlogs like this. I've some other nice places to show them so who knows!?
Rob, watching the beach part it reminded me that you should definitely do adult swim lessons. There is no shame or embarrassment to be had at all and everyone at the class is there to learn the same thing. The more you travel around the world the more you'll find yourself missing out on great water experiences. My mum learned as an adult because she always saw us kids having a lot of fun in the pool or beach and now she loves the water. Definitely do it!
Laughed when you said you "wouldn't normally travel this far". Did the same spots some years ago for a day trip, but start point was home at Newcastle, another 100 miles north of Sydney. Great video, Garth nails it again.
@@CharlieandRob 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great work Buddy! In Charlie's electric car? I think we can extend our trip next year then to take you both down to Jervis Bay for an overnighter! See you then!
Looks like a nice spot. It is not actually summer yet, which you indicated by way you expressed the clocks changing. The clocks change about first weekend each October and called daylight saving time. Clocks go forward one hour so if it got dark around 6-30 pm it then becomes 7-30 pm and as we approach summer have until 8pm and and eventually 9pm about the middle of our summer. Summer does not start until December. It been Spring since start of September and will be for a couple more weeks. Well that is the case for most of us in the southern part of the nation. Far up north they do not really have the four seasons. They basically live in the tropics and have wet season and dry season. October and November have mostly been nice weather this year. A few days have felt like summer already so it a bonus when a few days sprinkled with just above 30 degrees before summer. Went away from the city myself over Melbourne Cup long weekend and was beautiful weather in Victoria then and love exploring all the different spots here. Hoping the weather is awesome until end of March before it cools down again and can do a lot more travelling on the road. We indeed are lucky what we have here, especially if we do travel far and wide. Just got to be watching the weather on the extreme hot days in a few months and when it around 40 degrees or over and really windy being alert to bush fires is a must here. Seems like Queensland already had a lot of fires we before summer.
Another great vlog 👏. Fantastic drone footage of the harbour and also the sea cliff bridge. I love grand Pacific drive. Stunning. Wattamola is such a pretty place and yes good for safer swimming. We're spoilt for beautiful coastline on this continent, accross the east and west. If you make it back here, you'll have to do wonderful coastal drive in Far North Qld and outback Qld has some interesting places to visit too. As well as fantastic coast drives/visits in WA. And of course a visit to Uluru and the N.T/ outback. So much you've seen yet Aus still so much more to offer.
Every year there's a bike ride for MS that starts at Sydney to "Gong" Wollongong. It's a great ride down through the nation park and then along the beaches.
The main walk in The Royal National Park is called The Royal Coast Track. It is between Bundeena and Otford. You can go in either direction though I always started from Otford apart from one occasion. The walk is 26 kms long and best to walk it in 2 days.We mainly camped overnight at North Era camping ground.Though some sections of the track has closed temporarily I think. But this walk is fantastic.Accessed by public transport too.
You visited my neck of the woods! So glad you seen Bald Hill. I love watching the hand gliders jump off there. The coastline is amazing with so many beaches to visit. Glad you enjoyed the visit, I agree with the chicken burger comment and there are many nice places to feast just a bit further down.
Wottamolla is an awesome place. I was there a few years ago on Boxing Day. The beach was freezing but the lagoon was warm and beautiful to swim in. I also wasn’t brave enough to jump off the rocks lol
